Hey guys. I do not post here often but have been lurking for a couple years and reading posts. I've been contemplating on making this thread for the past 2 hours because I am not 100% sure if these questions have been answered...Or maybe I just did not understand them

I am diagnosed with depression, social anxiety and possibly ptsd.

I have a few questions for those who are willing to answer (pm me if you like)
feel free to ask me personal questions...ill take any help from anywhere at this point.

CBD rene is the strain that im currently trying and its working for the past 3 weeks.

What strains do you guys use?

What Ratio of thc and cbd is best?

How do you guys function when you go out high?

Is it the thc that helps with depression because it makes you happier? or is it the cbd?

Hey I want to put good effort into answering your questions, but some of these don't have answers, and some will vary from person to person, so it's best to experiment on your own (if you know it's safe to use cannabis already that is...)

anyway, favorite strain depends on my intent. green crack is a really good sativa for productivity, personally. gg4 is a favorite for getting "stoned" and doing nothing carefree. certain phenotype of bluedream I have is actually really good for my depression. it like lifts a shitty feeling. i like indica with high cbg to sleep

I function differently depending on who i'm with and what i'm doing obviously but idk. I'm more willing to do things and talk to people if I'm baked usually.

can't answer this for sure, but when i take cbd in addition to vaping i find my anxiety is a lot less. cant answer for sure on my depression on that. i didn't use it for long enough but it definitely helped a decent bit shortterm

Sour Tsunami. untested from CA dispensary. but apparently the strain tends to be around a 1:1 ratio, but varies plenty. rather sedative, helps with anxiety sometimes, but not depression because i don't wanna be productive on it. I made an edible from it and that seems better for being productive I guess. maybe it's something with terpenes or CBN or something, that causes the sedation
Candyland might've been what helped me most with depression so far?..

here is the best knowledge to date I've found...

D-limonene is a great anti-depressant ... it is found in certain cannabis strains...

with cannabis the main focus needs to be metabolism... because the active ingredients in cannabis have metabolic bio-active effects, helping that metabolic process fully to completion via dietary essential fatty acids and cannabimimetics works great... Also, understanding how the volatile terpenes that smell ( sesquiterpes) can bio-direct monoterpenes ( thc / cbd) via rate of evaporation and biological uptake in the endocannabinoid system... understanding all of this helps you realize entourage of compounds and how each compounds' volatility rate effects bio-directional functioning upon responsive cannabinoid receptors...

anyway, here is a few links for your perusal... hope it helps man!

I recommend Euphoric sativas like Strawberry Cough, Green Crack, or a Hybrid like OG Kush. All of these help me when I'm suffering from looping dark thoughts. Vape at the highest heat you can as some strains don't produce their effects until they're up near 430*F.

It's worth saying that MMJ isn't the answer to depression but will help with the symptoms and stop your thoughts from consuming you. What you need to do is find what is stressing you in life. Only by getting rid of those things that are weighing on your mind can you free it.

It helps to talk to people about your troubles. It gets it out of your head and out into the world where it can be brought into the light and inspected so to speak. I used to suffer from anxiety, PST and depression until I found someone I could talk to about it and make sense of things.

I also spent a lot of time researching MBTI and figuring out how my mind works. I discovered I'm an INFJ and it really helped me to play to my strengths and improve my weaknesses. I can now navigate social interactions much better and know what actions are going to make me uncomfortable.

I suffer from depression, anxiety and PTSD as well. As I need to be alert during the day, I tend to stick to a pure CBC tincture. If I am having a really bad day, I switch to Cannatonic (typically a 2 CBD to 1 THC ratio).

At night to relax I use an OG Kush with a 1 to 1 ratio.

Because of Sativa's tendencies to make me anxious, I tend to stick to hybrids and Indicas.

Damn, now I want a high CBC strain like there are high CBD ones.. you can just buy those tinctures online? a google search didnt show much of anything

Last time I took the homemade sour tsunami edible, I was irritable (got noticeably high but not very much, just tingly and shitty mood) and the next day, depressed as shit

I deal with some anxiety and use mainly hybrids and Indicas. I don’t have PTSD. I don’t do straight Sativa. Some of my fave strains are Gorilla Glue #4, Granddaddy Purple, Grape Ape, BlackBerry Kush, Silver Tip and Platimum Girl Scout Cookies.

I have used some high CBD and low THC like 14/6. I didn’t have much luck. Try things and see what works best for you.

Be careful if you decide to use edibles because they can be unpredictable. So go slow if you are eating your meds. For me it’s easier vaporizing I can keep better track of dosing.

I live in a medical marijuana state and get the CBD tincture at the dispensary.

Wait, CBC or CBD?
Is it desirable to avoid myrcene for clear headed, focused antidepressant effects? Even with very little THC? Wish there was a CBD strain with high limonene and CBC. A lot of them just seem to have myrcene and not much else. could just add it lol, but CBC isolate/distillate is unobtainium afaik

I buy hemp-derived CBD isolate slab from CBDistillery and add it to my home made home grown cannabis tinctures. It works perfectly.

I found some CBG isolate with a quick search. Wonder about the quality and etc. It's $100/gram so don't think I'll be trying it soon, but interested to see if other cannabinoid isolates begin popping up because I believe unless you grow yourself and really have some experience/knowledge regarding the plant and how you react to all its ins and outs, adding isolates to already properly grown bud will be a very nice way to modulate the effects and make sure you are getting everything that you want out of your cannabis

In my experience pot only masks the symptoms of bigger problems.

Thing that keeps me producing enough endorphins is active play. Going for bike rides. Chasing my dog through the creek. Going to the skatepark and generally having a blast. Exercise combined with non competitive games and no fast carbs brought me back from the depths.

Hybrid high-thc weed did help me with focus when I was all burned out and thought I couldn't stand what I was doing anymore. I think I have more anxiety that I previously did after using a lot, though. Since I wasn't taking care of my negative thought patterns?

More anxiolytic strains, maybe with high CBD, could be good as a supplement

In regards to functioning while high, if you build up any sort of a tolerance, it makes it MUCH easier to be productive while high, and makes it harder for people to tell, as well. For getting blasted to space, tolerance sucks, but for daytime medicating when you have to function, it can be beneficial to an extent (you don't want it to cause you to use more and more, you just want it to allow you to function while on an effective dose).

As for depression, a lot goes into making a person depressed. If you just use Cannabis, but are depressed because of other issues, you very well might not see much of an improvement. Definitely check your sunlight exposure levels, your sleep patters, your dietary patters, your activity levels, and your stressors in life (traumas, work, anxieties, health issues, etc.), as well. That's not to say that you will be able to cure your depression, or even sufficiently treat it without some form of chemical intervention, but having those aspects of your life in order definitely helps in combination with medicine.

I would also recommend trying to just maintain a mild buzz, for treatment of social anxiety, as being too high in public can worsen things. You can always work your way up.

Ditto on both posts. I've been incorporating CBD isolate into my high-THC tinctures since December, and there is a significant drop in anxiety and depression. I don't think I have much at all...

I BELIEVE THAT CBD HAS TO BUILD UP IN YOUR SYSTEM FOR A WHILE, kinda like the way ssri type drugs work. At least that's my experience. I'm saturated with CBD right now, and it makes everything better, including getting really, really high on THC.
