Possible upgrade from Arizer Solo?

I have a Solo right now that I'm pretty happy with, it's my first vape and I've completely stopped smoking herb because of it. It does have some small issues and it is an older model though, so the battery life isn't that great, I can't use it while charging, and the draw resistance is kind of bothersome (I have some newer stems with the four holes and screens that I use too).

So basically I was wondering if there's a portable vape that has even less compromises than the Solo? I know the Solo is considered to be one of the best portable vapes, but I'm definitely down to get another vape that can deliver an even better experience (and because I love getting new gadgets lol). The Inhalater XP/INH05 looks promising, and I also hear the newer model Solos are great too. Willing to spend up to $300-400, but less is better of course.

As far as the new solos go, I love them. My old first Solo is still in rotation and works well, however the improvements to the new Solos make them a superior unit. The new ones heat up a lot faster, and while I can't verify this with any actual measured data, I feel like they keep a more even temperature while drawing (I pair mine with a water tool and turbo stems from planetvape.ca). And of course there's the use-while-charging feature. They took an excellent unit and made it super excellent.

You may want to specify if you have any other restrictions so that people can better tailor their recommendations. Does stealth matter? Are you OK with vaporizers that require the use of a lighter of some sort? Does efficiency play a role? So many variables!

Nothing out there yet that I've tried. I pared my collection down to two portables...the solo and the lotus. I recommend you get a lotus and a new battery from centizen in this forum. Your solo will feel like new.

Not only restrictions as @Crumpet recommends, but what you love about the Solo. I too, love my Solo, I've said before, pound for pound possibly my favorite vape.
I love my original Inhalater and my Pinnacle Pro, but I'm currently having a love affair with my Firefly. I haven't even tried my new Lotus because of it.

I think the Hammer would be a nice partner/upgrade, it can do you Solo's temps and then go higher. You can also go the conduction route or use both conduction and convection.

Ah yeah lemme provide some more info. I love the build quality of my Solo, dropped it from waist height onto a tile floor, it bounced up, no problems at all. I love that it doesn't look like a dildo. I don't have another vape to compare it to but it's much more efficient than combustion and efficiency is probably my number one concern (along with it being portable). Toking makes all my other hobbies more fun so I'm down to splurge for something "premium" if it'll be better than the Solo, like one with a digital temperature monitor or something.

I'll look into some of the other vapes mentioned here, not too surprised at all the love for the Solo here since I've pretty much only heard good things about it. Any reason other than cost to just get a new battery for my Solo vs. buying a newer model? Thanks for all the info guys.

The power adaptor will not charge the solo and can only be used to power the solo that IMO is a big pluss for older solos

I have the same problems with the draw resistance with the Solo. It's just not for me. I'm probably gonna upgrade to the MiniVAP portable. It's $519 USD atm. It's quite a bit taller so not as "portable". Has a much longer battery life around 3 Hours and from all reports it hits almost like a cloud Also the start-up time is closer to five minutes so Solo wins there. I think it can be used while charging but you need to buy an additional AC adapter for home use while you leave the battery on the charging station. Overall if size, start-up time and price are not an issue this is probably the go to portable vape.

Before some of you who are suffering from too much raw resistance give up on your Solos, try it with a PVHES from PlanetVape, you're likely to never turn back. They should have come stock with the Solo.
I prefer a wood stem from Ed's TnT to the stock Solo stem as well.

Holding the stock stem a cm or so off the bottom of the oven during hits also works wonders for dropping resistance.

All the PVHES's seem to be sold out from planet vape atm Probably worth a try though. They advertise a 30% greater airflow and the reviews seem very positive. Yeah it seems kinda silly they don't come with the Solo standard.

They have been sold out for a while, I have been trying to get my hands on a PHVES stem myself. I am definitely going to be ordering one of the HC batteries, the lifespan of my Solo is extremely short these days.

I bought a DV Ascent several months back, it too converted me to vaping (not combusting anymore!)

But it broke after 1 month of use!!! After this fiasco, I decided I had to buy a stupid simple vape as a backup. My search led me to the Lotus. The lotus is a very simple device, but almost TOO efficient.

I don't even have time to get comfortable and turn on the TV before my session is over. (Sometimes I just keep re-packing and vaping so my session lasts more than 2 minutes!)

No Vape is perfect, and the Lotus while "portable" is certainly not discrete by any means (holding a loud hissing torch over a metal plate while holding a pipe to your lips is pretty noticeable). At least with the Solo you can conceal in a bottle!

That said, as long as you have herb, and a torch with enough butane, you're as portable as you want to be! No old half-dead batteries to worry about. Your torch will hold just as much butane as the day you buy it!
