Portable vaporiser for coffee shop

Basically I'm a once in a blue moon Cannabis partaker, going on Holliday to Amsterdam & I will be checking out coffee shops, I can't handle smoke so that's out of the question, I have tried edible in the past but that left me feeling wiped out & laying on a sofa.

My plan is to use a vape, thing is I'm a bit of a germophobe & I don't like the idea of using a vaporiser countless other people have used, even if the mouth piece has been wiped. There seem to be so! Many portable vaporisers now & I need some help finding one that is both reasonabley cheap, not awful & suitable to transport on an airline.

If you are ok with a butane powered unit, the DynaVap M is very inexpensive and very well engineered and quality built.
It takes a little technique to use vs a portable battery powered unit but it would be a good choice

Thanks for the suggestion Minnbobber, just been looking it up & the Dynavap is definitely a neat & well thought out vape, although I don't really fancy the faff of having to use a lighter to heat my vape & figuring out a technique for something I'm not gonna use often.

I will keep it on my shortlist for now since it should do the job plus it is very neat & reasonable . I'm gonna see what else is out there too, I'm thinking I could maybe get a battery powered one that's a little more expensive, that I could sell on afterwards.

I would cast another vote for the vapcap but I do understand your apprehension, it took me over a year to pull the trigger. However now that will always be my portable of choice.

What sort of budget have you got in mind? If you're planning on tossing it at the end of your trip then we would want to concentrate on the lower priced vaporizers but if you want one to hang into for those blue moons when you plan to consume then there are many reasonably priced models that will work great!

I second the butane vape suggestion.
Other than a Vapcap you should take a look at the Vapman and the Vapor Genie, you can also buy both locally.

I did check out the Arizer Air & it seems like a very decent vape - I like that it has a glass air path too. I'd probably just give the stem a quick clean before heading home, I don't think I'd get in trouble if there was a minuscule amount left on. I plan to hold onto the vaporiser I won't be tossing it at the end of my trip.

I'm willing to spend £100 max really, I did find an Arizer Air on eBay that was apparently 'on sale!' For £100 but it seemed a little too good to be true since minimum elsewhere is about £145, anyway I messaged the seller asking if it was a clone? to which he replied it was a 'very good 1 to 1 clone' no thanks to that.

The vapor genie seems like it's a pain to use from video I've seen & the vapman takes technique to vape without burning - which wouldn't be an issue if I was a regular vaper but I'm not. The Vapcap M is still looking interesting, just not sure I'll be able to hear the click when in a busy environment & how long does it take for end cap where you heat to cool enough to handle?

Air is a good idea especially if you are not a power user. You need to grind and really it helps if the cannabis is extra dry.
I think a vapcap would be better since there is probably no time to dry out your herb.
But you can clean the Air stem in alcohol and bring it home no problem.

I think a vapcap would be better since there is probably no time to dry out your herb.
But you can clean the Air stem in alcohol and bring it home no problem.

The Air is just too much money to spend for my needs, I like the vapcap m but if using outdoors at say Vondelpark I'd prefer not to have to work away with a blow torch lighter, plus I've heard issues with the click not working right when it's windy outside etc.

I got impression from video review it took a bit of skill but after watching another video review the reviewer said it was straight forward & tbh it looked it, I guess it just depends who you are.

I've found a vaporiser on one site called Storm pen vaporiser? for just £75 (seems too cheap), there isn't much talk about it here though, is there a reason for that? Also saw the same company has a vaporiser called Storm spirit which seems reasonable too but the air path seems awfully short so I'd guess it would be harsh on throat/lungs?

I'd do a want to buy ad, for a quality postable vape in Europe and see what turns up.
FC members often have extra vapes they might consider selling and you'd get more for your money
on a used good quality vape VS a new marginal vape IMO

My attempts at butane failed with both the genie and vapman. I never could get them to work however easy they are to others. The vapcaps, on the other hand, was very easy to use. The main problem is avoiding combusting and I don't think that's very difficult. There are a lot of users who work on perfecting a technique but that's not really necessary.

Also the Dobby from Germany is butane and very much like a vape from a company that went out of business that made lily. It's fairly small. It's also new so not too many comments on it but given that it is a lily clone with more attractive body you can find comments on the lily thread that will fit the dobbys.

It's reassuring to know that the Vapcap is very easy to use for you even when the genie & vapman weren't, I will be getting a Vapcap if I can't my hands on my first choice.. Cheers

I'm not interested in buying anything from outside of Europe, the last time I did I got charged a ridiculous customs fee on something that wasn't worth much, partly thanks to Royal Mail adding a fee on top for the "service".
