Portable vape question

I see there are a lot of these threads so sorry for posting another one, but I am looking at the pinnacle pro, arizer solo, no2, and davinci. I want the one that is most portable, fitting it in my pocket is awesome, and the one that smells the least. My friend has an no2 and I have used it before and its pretty awesome, if i could get a smaller one of those I would. I feel like pnp is what I want. input? For suggestions, dont want to spend much more than about 180 on ebay. Yes i know fakes are common on ebay.

the Solo performs the best but is the biggest. That said, I can pocket it and use it when I get to where I want to be, just not openly.

IMO I would wait until the new revised version of the Pinnacle Pro before you buy one. Probably about a year from now. There have been some melting and cracking plastic with some of our FC members with some of the Pinnacle Pros. Remember we are a small percentage of their vaporizer customers.

The Ascent is small. It looks like most the bugs are worked out. We still hear about units being sent back though, but not as many. It fits easily in your jacket pocket. It is smelly when heating up. You will find that with all vaporizers. They give off some smell when heating up fresh herb.

You get very good vapor and flavor with the Ascent. You can press in the exact desired temp you wish to vape at. You can even preprogram your sessions. Folks have been using glass pipe screens to maximize vapor production and heat. Check out the Ascent thread. When buying a new vape, you need to do your homework.

The Solo is big and bulky, but so much more versatile. It also gives off the least smell of my other portables. A much more dependable vaporizer IMO.

EDIT: I have all of the units you mentioned. I like all of them and they all have their place. The Solo for me is the winner in that lineup.

What about the Indica? I am watching that thread. I'm waiting until the newer model comes out. I want one with a battery you can take out and charge and put a new one in. So many of the vapes you have to send into the company to get a battery replaced. I like the No. 2. because of that.

I think the vape you want is the Inhalater 005, but out of those you had listed, the Solo is the best. Here are some others you may want to consider as they are small and stealthy, the Elevape SV and the Flowermate. The flowermate can be purchased for under $80 shipped.

The original DaVinci is a very nice very portable vaporizer. About the same size as a pack of cigarettes it's easily pocketable and Holds a bit more then the NO2 with a little better performance in my opinion (i use both all the time).

But If you can deal with the larger size(without the stem 1/2 the height of NO2) the solo is my favorite of the three, Solo,DV,NO2.

I do often have my davinci in my back pocket when out and about and it's served me very well over the last year and a half or so, I paid around $220 and don't regret it one bit. (just gave one for a b-day gift that i bought for $130 in June)

I do own 2 pinnacles that get very little if NO use.

Alright so it sounds like the solo is the way to go. And CarolKing, I was reffering to the original davinci. I am assuming the arizer offers better performance than the davinci? I like the looks of the davinci better, and it is smaller, but if the vapor isnt close to as nice as the solo than I would rather get the solo

The Solo is the sturdier of the two units. The vapor quality is great for both. The Solo is tried and true. It's been in the market since 2011. My only complaint is some minor chipping on the bottom plate. It doesn't interfere with the units performance. I will get a Pipes stand. I need to look into that.

Prettier isn't always better when it comes to a vaporizer.

The Solo hits bigger than the DV, since it's designed more as a home use portable than a pocket portable- kind of an apples and oranges comparison even though both are portables. As for "nice vapor", that's way too vague for comparisons. The Solo will put out more vapor per hit because of its design, while the pocket friendly DV has to restrict hit size in order to be pocket friendly. I have both models, and each is best, depending on where I intend to vaporize.

Ok. So it sounds like I couldn't really go wrong with either. I just remembered I know somebody that has the DaVinci, I am not really friends with him but I'll see if I can try it out.

I have given it some more thought, and the deciding factor for me is going to be the smell. I have seen mixed opinion on which one smells the least. I do remember that my friend that has the davinci uses a sploof and exhales under his bed, he says there is 0 odor doing that.

I think the smell factor is somewhat bullshit. ALL vapes smell. The amount of smell depends largely on the type of herb you're using and what temps you vape at. The only argument I can see someone making here is that the vapor production of one is greater than the other and thus the one making more vapor will produce a more concentrated smell. However at that point you are trading performance for stealth again... and this is something that can be mitigated by adjusting vape temp (if available on your specific unit).

Agree, and smell factor would be dead last on my list when picking a portable. You list "most portable", so you can cross the Solo off your list. Compared to the other models you list, it's an apple to your oranges- not stealthy. Making odor production your primary consideration among the others is a mistake IMO. I've used various pocket portables over the years, and I've never heard anyone ask 'what's that smell?'. In the situations where it's safe to use a stealth portable, any difference in odor level should be insignificant. Common sense for when and where to use is much more important for stealth.

Anyone who really needs to kill vapour odour should get a can of Ozium. This stuff really works.

Having said that, I will repeat what has been posted many times in response to concerns about vaping odours: the smell from your stash when you open it is probably stronger than anything that comes from your vape. Vapour odour dissipates quickly and doesn't cling the way smoke does. On the other hand, there are people with extremely sensitive noses. I have a sister-in-law who must be part bloodhound. She always knows when I use the LB around her. Fortunately she likes the smell.

It's true that all constant heat vapourizers give of some smell while the heat is on. Smell comes from terpenes, which are among the most volatile compounds and have low boiling points. Heat-on-demand devices such as the Lotus and VaporGenie (flame) or the Launch Box and Firefly (battery) don't have this problem.

A dirty device can be the source of another odour issue. Stale resin smells, but normally you'd have to get quite close to pick it up.

The kind of smell that bothers me, and might be it's own category, is the residual smell (oils left on the parts of the device).

If I put my Solo stem in a M&M minis tube - I can carry the Solo around and not notice anything. As soon as I take the stem out, I do notice the smell because of the oil.

I didn't like carrying the PAX around because it seemed like the Ghost of Session past followed me around everywhere. If I could stick it into a super small case that was airproof, I would be carrying the PAX around instead of my Solo.

The MFLB used to bother me with that Scrooge smell, and after this site I realized it was in fact that tiny stem that carries that smell. So there may be ways to combat Device Stink.

I can only imagine the more pungent and fresh herb making that ghost smell even more "garden fresh" and skunky.

Thanks to this thread, and although being out of the loop for a while, I discovered the Pinnacle Pro, and am probably going to give that a whirl. I wonder if that cap contains most of that smell?

If a fairly clean but used solo stem bothered you the pnp will not do it for you without a case of somekind either as to me my pinnacle smells more when cooled down then a very dirty warm solo stem.

smell proof cases(even ziplock bags) are a good thing.

Dammit. I guess that one feature (device being smell proof) is the big deal-breaker for me. Also maybe the reason I want to jump on any new idea or interesting vape...thinking that the people who make these vaporizers take that into consideration at all. A smell proof (or really good way to contain it) portable vape would be great!

I would think you will never ever make that deal. Although i see from your sig that you have bought vaporizers before? If you use it and carry it around any/every vaporizer is going to have an odor. because you used it with marijuana and once you do that it smells, no way around that but to clean it or put it in a case.

lol. Hey, I'd like to be the Vape Ninja of Stealth. I mean, they now have new one-cell thick glass coatings, smaller batteries being made now, who know what else in the next few years, I wouldn't say a smell-proof portable vape (or a case for them) is way too much to ask for.

I know if there was one that made that claim, I would be one of the first (or only) to want it.

The zipper is supposed to be air tight and the case itself is lined with activated carbon which absorbs smell. It's the same stuff you'd fund in a smoke buddy or any number of industrial/household filters.

I should note that I don't own one. I put anything of importance in Pelican cases. Hey, speaking of which, if you want guaranteed smell protection use one of those. I'm sure no one will wonder why you're carrying around a small plastic briefcase. Heh.
