Portable battery powered vape for outside use

Dear FC community,

I'm a big fan of butane powered vaporizers. The Vapcap, Vapman and Vaponic are my top three favourite vapes, because the taste is good/outstanding, the vapor is cool (enough) and the size of the chambers are suited for microdosing.

For outside use, however, my butane vaporizers are not always so practical, especially in windy conditions. Therefore I'm looking for a portable battery powered vaporizer. The prospect to medicate while walking outside is nice! Around 420 I'm planning to buy one.

My preferences:

- Can buy it from @VapoShop.
- Suited for small loads (like the Vapman wok, plusminus 0.05), and/or can be turned on and off for a few puffs without losing too much taste.
- Isolated airpath.
- Fits in the pocket.
- Good CS service in case I need to contact the manufacturer directly
- Preferably a nice warranty.
- At least decent taste.
- Efficient extraction
- Price: around €200,-

I will use the vape one or a few times in a week and will use it only outside.

Potential contenders:

- Healthy Rips Fury 2 incl. loading capsules. Pros: small oven, good taste, feast heat up time, with the capsules very easy to maintain, awesome CS. Cons: 1 year warranty, no replaceable battery.

- Xvape Fog. Pros: Fast heat up time, suited for small loads, okay warranty Cons: varying opinions on taste, safety and reliability; no consensus that the vape is awesome.

- Davinci Miqro. Pros: ultra portable, good taste, fairly easy to clean, good warranty, replaceable battery. Cons: Need at least 0.1 gram for good results, no spacer yet to reduce the oven size so maybe not efficient enough for my style of usage.

- Argo. Pros: taste, portability, option to reduce the chamber size, replaceable battery, easy to maintain. Cons: Glass is breakable, maybe the oven is too big for my style of usage, not everyone is happy with the provided CS.

- Pax 3. Pros: Warranty, fits nicely in the pocket, options to reduce the chamber size. Cons: even with the half-pack lid or the pusher I still need at least .15 grams (?) to fill the oven. Not efficient enough for my style of usage?

At the moment I lean towards the Fury 2, even though the warranty is only a year. If the Miqro or Pax 3 could fit my style of usage, those could be also contenders because of the warranty.

What would you recommend? Any other vapes from Vaposhop that could be contenders?

Thank you in advance for your thoughts and opinions :)

There are quite a few new portable vapes on the market these days, some are great, some a bit temperamental, but for a Solid and Simple workhorse, that performs like a table top, with tons of power,
long battery life, speed, very efficient with herb, virtually maintenance free, Blows Smoke!, tasty,
and will last You Years;
I can recommend the ARIZER Solo, whether the standard or the Solo II, Both bargain priced, and,
you may be eligible for a FREE Arizer 'Air' vape?

XVape Fog. Way inferior to the Fury 2.
Is has many small parts that can break or be lost. Fury 2 is sturdy, works with small loads (but I never tried such a small quantity). Xvape Fog mouthpiece gets clogged pretty frequently and is way restricted flow. Fury2 is free flow. They both get ready pretty quickly.
Pax3 is conduction and imho you pay the brand name and not much else. If you want to spend that kind of money I'd go with any Arizer vape any day.

Thank you for the input!

@ejackyou The Solo is on my wishlist for home use, really like the low maintenance. For outside use it's less practical, but the Argo fills that ''Arizer niche".

@justcametomind The Fog is off the list, thanks for the input. I'm going to take a closer look to the Argo.

@vapmanjoe The fury 2 seems to be the ideal one for me indeed.

@DeeCee5 do you know how much herb goes into the budkups?

Gotta go Fury 2 again like with so many of these which-vape threads. You'll love the clouds and the easy tiny size. Pick up a bent glass stem for microdosing at home and maybe a wpa if you have a bubbler to pair it with.

For a hiking/outdoor vape you won't find a better value. The Fury 2 was my first vape. I have around ten now and the Fury 2 still gets used regularly because it's just that handy. Only downside is battery life and you can tote a small charging bank if you need more than four or five sessions before you get home.

I've said this before too: make sure you're fine with the tight draw resistance of the Arizer portables before spending Argo money thinking it's a big flavor improvement. I gave my Solo II to a friend after getting a Fierce (the Fury 2's bigger counterpart) and he hated the draw resistance and got a Fury 2.

The bent stem along with lower temps gets the flavor of the Fury 2 on similar levels to the Solo II and it's a harder hitting vape than the Argo for like half the price. Get a Fury 2 and use the rest of the Argo price difference to buy a Splinter, which honestly outperforms all the session vapes I own, including the Mighty.

The whole idea with the Solo, is that You don't have to finevgrind, or pack the flower
just shove some nuggs in the stem firmly and go!
If that's not the ticket, probably the Ghost or Fierce will do you nicely?

The Fury 2 seems like a good option that fits your current requirements, and the Ghost MV-1 probably would be too if you found the right deal. A Splinter or other 510 attachment as bossman suggested could also be good, but they are larger and more fragile than some of the other options.

Long term though, you might want to consider the unregulated convection group like the Nomad (still the smallest I believe, best looking and most flexible with different heaters you can switch out as easily as the battery), and the Milaana, MVT, Li’l Bud, etc.

If you’re worried about glass, the Li’l Bud comes with a wooden stem by default, and there are also wooden stems available for the Nomad.

DaVinci’s stuff is generally pretty good (not sure about the Miqro), but it sounds like you prefer on-demand to session style conduction options, so you can probably remove that and the Pax from your list.

Easy bro. Sorry I have no time to read anything right now so this may be a useless suggestion, but still check out the Sapphire by Storm if you havent already ruled it out. Onky £55, excellent value.
I tried it recently and unfortunately it's another vaporizer I really like which I am strangely intolerant to which has nothing to do with the materials.

I was really disappointed because I really liked it it works extremely well and hits very hard with very good quality vapor which is smooth and maintains the taste throughout the load without really dropping off.

It was as easy to use as virtually any device I have ever used and is incredibly small and light definitely pocketable and mobile although I did only try it through water with the water pipe adapter.

I posted a mini review on it. Also see the video by Vapefiend if you havent yet. Good luck man.

Once again for the input everyone, really appreciate it

@bossman good one about the draw resistance. There's a shop in Amsterdam where you can test multiple vaporizers. I could test the Argo there to see if the draw resistance isn't too high for me. But I must admit that your arguments for the F2 are so convincing that I could immediately go to the Vaposhop website and order it plus the long stem!

@ejackyou that's one of the pros I didn't mention, that you can stuff a nug in the Argo. The Vapcap and Vaponic work also very well with nugs.

@VaporWare an unregulated convection vape is on the wishlist :) I really love the craftsmanship, functional art!

@Alexis I appreciate taking the time to respond man! The Sapphire seems to be like a nice device, especially for the price! If there would be a spacer for it then it would be an easy choice for me.

@BabyFacedFinster and @Greenleaf88 the F2 is now is my number one, thanks for the input!

Ghost does way better than FF2 imo, can be down to learning curve though.

Mighty for easy all rounder or Ghost MV1 if your a flavor chaser, there are many portable options out there. But i would so go for a long term end all option even if more expensive investment, will pay itself off in usage and no buyer remorse with upgrade thoughts coming in every other day.

My first portable vapes were Vapor Genie and MFLB both with learning curves, it was ok back then, but not anymore for me. FF2 is just kept inside biting dust, mighty was like my daily driver on all my vacations, its an expensive no nonsense all rounder with great taste and strong effects thanks to the conduction support apart from majorly convection.

The Ghost MV1 is the tastiest and effects will hit you smoother than the mighty thanks to the convection only,.

Pure taste and effect performance/more convection smooth quality vapor = Ghost MV1
Great taste and effects/much easier loading process/shape could be handy = Mighty

I would choose Ghost MV1 personally, but need few years with the ghost to crown it as reliable as the mighty.

Another fury 2 fan. I don't go out and about with a vape much so I mainly use on-demand wood vapes. But when I do or when I'm away from home I take the fury 2. It's tiny, works great and is one of the few vapes that doesn't leave me coughing without a whip. It's also all 1 piece although you can use an external glass mp. Airflow not restricted. Now that I have my nomad I may use that instead of the fury 2. But it was a 2 year wait for it.

@Dutch-Mic

Outdoors , battery dryherb Vape. Lil'Bud and nothing but ! Reliable , unbreakable , the power to vape in any (most) temperature or wind conditions . I vaped LB's in -20-25 to +35 celcius here, it gets colder but I vape inside if that cold loll . One button , easy peesy , not much other vapes mentioned up here hits as hard or harder (from what i read and others say and I read lots ) . You'll need 18650 batteries and a battery charger. Batteries are easily swappable . If I was going camping , I'd bring 1 battery per day and maybe one for backup if gone a few days!

Send a message to @Bravesst , quite sure he has a few LB Classic wishing for a good home. Mike had a sweet deal last week or two on already built units , $150 I think .

The Elite by Vapwood is $300 , same handcrafted and vapor quality as the Classic with temp control , color display features all kinds of gadget , ohhhh yeahhh!

Here's a couple outdoors videos of the LB Classic for you .

Enjoy your quest , it's a good time to be vaping weed !

I would recommand the Fog cause:

- you want microdosing, the Fog do it very well
- replacable battery
- small
- efficient
- heat in a handfull of seconds
- low price

but are you agree to deal with:

- restricted airflow
- silicone in the vaporpath ( I took off the lid and fixed this issue with my unit)

In my opinion it's a better deal than the Fury, the Fury main qualities are the smooth hits and the small design although, in regards to the taste I found them pretty similar but I can see myself to use my Fog more than my Fury.

I didn't tried the MiQro but tested a friend IQ and found it pretty nice although there is some reports of weak hits with the MiQro...

The Pax3 works well but it's expensive for what you get and not really good for microdosing...

I didn't tried the Argo but some speak of weak hits too.

Whatever your choice will be, all are tested and approved vapes, good luck!

Lots of food for thought, thanks everyone! It's a busy Sunday for me, so I'll edit this post this evening (or when I'm too late to edit it, I'll post again) and respond to you all :)
