Portable battery packs ??

5200mAH is a lot of juice, but depends on what kind of portable vape?

My Lotus PV uses butane, so no, that won't charge my Lotus.
My Davinci Ascent PV uses a 12 volt charger, so no, that won't charge my Ascent

Gotcha, can't comment on them (never used either) - but if they use a USB charger, and charge on 5volts, you should be fine.

BTW , I wasn't meaning that exact battery pack , I was just wondering if anybody used anything similar . Maybe I shoulda asked in a specific vaporizer thread ( indica and inhalater xp threads ).

This is a good place to ask since we are only going to see more and more vaporizers that use the USB standard for charging.

As long as the battery pack you are using is capable of supplying the amount of current need to charge (which with USB, should be at least 500mA), then any vaporizer should be able to charge off of it. Might be a little slow to charge at that rate though. I'd recommend going with a battery pack that advertised "iPad" charging; because that means it will be rated at over 2A and will be able to charge anything up quickly.

Just don't skimp, dirt cheap battery packs tend to not be very good at staying within 5V. Don't want to fry anything.

That's not necessarily true; I've got USB battery packs here in my desk drawer that have both 12v and 5v output jacks on them. The amount of amperage available for the 12v line is fairly low (due to it being directly stepped up from the 5v line), but it does work and I've used it to charge my Solo and use my logs in the past.

the one i got is 12000mAh and it can also jumpstart a car. it was a little over $100.
it works great for charging vape pens and cell phones and my laptop.

edit: looking for a picture of it and all the ones i see are a lot less money than i spent

You will need a power supply for your charger, most of my buddies just use our car's battery and pull a little juice out of it.

I have the Ophos and a bunch of USB ecig mods. I chain vape Nic juice and game on the iPad so I am just plugged in to keep battery life strong, lol. It is great for travel, I will charge the Ophos and mod batts while in my bag and it can do that for days.

The unit I have is not small nor light, some of the smaller lipstick sized charges will charge the Ophos a few times between charges but this sucker does so much more.

Bought a Vapium Summit recently. Just in time for the outdoor weather and now looking for a charger solution. A rugged lightweight battery bank/charger with a high amp output might work well with my Summit and perhaps my camera. I'll look over the suggestions already made here.

There is so many poor choices out there and I don't want to throw my money at any of that. I should be able to get something good say, within the $50 range. But, something that won't fry any of my electronics. I will be keeping it in a dry bag, but it should be able to withstand a few drops. If it can charge something while being in my backpack, as I hike, well that would be the sweet spot.

Also trying to find out about the solar charger that can be purchased thru Vapium and if that is an decent option. Don't really see myself getting the benefit of a single solar panel, but if it can store and give a decent output with no worries for say two days then it would be worthwhile. All Vaporizers need to ramp up so quickly to heat an oven and many benefit or absolutely need to be charged at a higher Amperage. So that rules out a lot of battery bank clones. And so many of the cheaper models of banks are downright dishonest as to how much power can be stored. Which muddies up the waters even more. But that could be a discussion for another thread.

If no moderator would object to me asking out loud, any suggested battery forums for reference and research would be helpful to me. But keep in mind, I am seeking a solution for a rugged battery bank/charger/solar charger/workaround/whatever to be able to recharge my USB powered vaporizer in the field. As impractical as some may point out. But this vaporizer I own weights only 250g! So I may be within range where it could be worthwhile for me.
