Portable (at home), efficient, easy-to-handle vape?

Hello!

I've been abstaining for a long while and now I'm not up-to-date with the latest and greatest vapes. So I thought, maybe someone could kindly give me the quick run-down of what's best these days.

I am looking for a vaporizer that has the following properties:

• Portable (electric strongly preferred over gas/jet lighter)
• Efficient (I use small doses, 0.1-0.25g)
• Easy to handle (i.e. easy to load, clean, use)
• If it has a glass joint so I could attach my Vapexhale Hydrabomb that would be a big, big plus.
• Main usage: on my patio.
• Budget: it just has to be worth it.

To give an impression of what I like, I already have these four vaporizers:

• CRZ Rockzap - I liked it, extremely efficient, but kinda weak on power and using a bubbler on it was fiddly.
  
• Vapexhale Evo - Absolutely great in almost every way, although not quite as efficient. I would like to have this, but portable.
  
• MLFB - Was a good first vape, but it's too fiddly, I don't use it anymore.
  
• Vapman - Super for hikes and outdoorsy stuff, but I would like a non-gas powered chill vape for at home.

So, a log-type portable vape with a glass joint would seem like the best idea, but are there any good alternatives?

Check out the HealthyRips Fury2. It is very very tiny - way smaller than needed for a home portable - but it has taken over my subconscious and I use it at home all the time.

I think it meets all of your criteria. I would recommend the bent glass stem and the XL Water Pipe Adapter. You can use it with a hydrabomb but it will look ridiculous!

Thanks for the suggestions. The Fury 2 really seems like a cute, cost-effective little tool. Good reviews. I've seen the Solo 2 as well, but it's 100 bucks more and I would need to source a GonG adaptor somewhere else. I think I might for once avoid reading 100s of reviews and just go with the Fury 2...

The above suggestions are exactly what I would recommend as well.
The Solo is bigger, perfect for patios, but definitely not pocketable. Excellent flavor and basically the easiest cleaning/maintenance you will find.
The Fury is great for patios, pockets, pretty much anywhere you want to use it. But battery life is not great. Although, again if for patio, it will be more than adequate. The taste is good, but Solo is better. If you use the glass mouthpieces (as suggested above by @StonerSloth ), the cleaning/maintenance is as easy as Solo. If you use the native mouthpiece, it’s still not a big deal to clean, just an extra step.
Both work great with microdosing, although I think Fury is slightly better here.

The only thing that really worries me about the Fury 2 is the power cycle. Just 3 minutes? I don't vape very quickly. Maybe a puff a minute. So I keep turning it on?

It’s actually 4 minutes. And when it turns off, you can turn it back on immediately and it will be back at same temp within a second or two.

However, if you only take a puff every minute or so, you may want to consider an on-demand vape instead. I recommend looking at the Milaana and the Tubo Evic as well.

You definitely don't want a Solo 2 if you only take a puff a minute, the herb will just sit there roasting and depleting in flavor, by the time you go for another hit its already womp.

Yeah you don’t want a haze V3 either. These are session style vapes. You’ll burn through your herb. You want an on demand convection vape.

You definitely don't want a Solo 2 if you only take a puff a minute, the herb will just sit there roasting and depleting in flavor, by the time you go for another hit its already womp.

That's why I love the Vapexhale - it's a brilliant vape but I can remove the basket after every draw and just put it back in whenever I feel like it while the vape stays hot.

It's also what confuses me about many vaporizers, including the Arizer products; you just cram your herb into the stem and 'hope' it doesn't fall out onto the hot plate? I gotta say, the Vapexhale basket is a brilliant invention.

I will look into some more 'on-demand' vapes.

I gotta ask if you've checked out the Vapman heating statiion? It's my main driver at night these days, love my Vapman.

I dunno. I love my vapman but for regular use I think it's a bit too fidly for my taste and the Vapman station costs more than most complete vaporizers under consideration...

If you’re looking for a portable evo experience you should look close at the Tubo. Once I got mine i have only busted the evo out by request.

I would suggest you also look at a vapcap from Dynavap. I know you said you prefer electric over gas but the vapcap works incredible with an induction heater that you could purchase from our resident genius @Pipes. He makes both plug-in and portable induction heaters. And when the power goes out or the batteries die you still have a super portable vape you can now use with a torch lighter, a bic, a gas burner, or even a tea candle.

And if you use a piece of silicone to keep it from falling in too deep you can use your Evo to heat your vapcap, it works great!

The vapcap can be paired with water pipes in numerous ways, whether it’s through buying a body designed for water pipes (dynavong), or through a fat mouthpiece tip, or just a small piece of silicone tubing.

And the ti tip vapcaps have an adjustable oven size and they are great for microdosing.

I also recommend the vapcap because you can tailor the airflow to your preference through control of the carb. Lately I’ve got my carb hole blocked off so I can do big joint like mouth pills.

If you want all electric all the time, Tubo all day long. I think it is a portable evo and really I find it to be a superior experience. Best of all, you can use the evo basket screens with some of the stems that can be used with the tubo. It can microdose or megadose!

If you want extreme versatility and a device that will last through a nuclear fallout then consider the vapcap. I held off on the vapcap for a long time because I didn’t think I had use for a torch vape, but I discovered that the vapcap thread is the most active thread on these forums for a very good reason.

The Evo is a convection vape so it doesn't suffer from the same degree of constant cooking, the Tubo or Fury or other convection vapes are a good suggestion, though keep in mind the style of use you describe is by far the hardest to pull off with a portable electronic dry herb vaporizer. It takes a lot of power to heat with convection and more power to hold that temp or cool down and heat back up again. Thing about convection portables is the vapor can feel harsh with such a short air path. Not a problem if you're an iron lung type.

I think the Vapcap with induction heater is one of the better recommendations to truly do what you want.

I'm not sure if you have access to concentrates or extracts but I find they work much better in a true on demand fashion than any portable dry herb device, even vapes like the Grasshopper which I have also owned.

Check out the miniVAP thread. Somewhat pricey but very efficient, superb flavor, almost no cleaning needed AND it can be a desktop AND portable----and portable with longest lasting battery there is.
Extremely verstile for bubbler. hydratube, whip, mouthpiece, glass mouthpice, etc.

Based on what you want and what you like I'd recommend Lil' Bud by Vapwood or Milaana by RBT. On-demand, un-regulated, battery powered with replaceable batteries, and both are full convection. Great flavor, and lots of folks compare them favorably to desk tops. I have both and love both. I use my Lil' Bud for flower and my Milaana for concentrates, but both are great for flower.

Super efficient, easy to use, small loads, works with your water tool.
I still love mine and it is over a year old with no repairs.

I ordered the Fury 2 which should on the way but the research I did was that it was electric, pocket-sized portable and around 150 USD. Comes with either a glass stem or WPA XL/regular for 10/14/18mm (read on website between the 3 choices to see which size fits you best for load) and either a grinder or a glass bubbler. I went with WPA XL and the glass bubbler. Should work with both concentrates and flower, I'll eventually test if they work together at the same time, maybe a little mix will work. I read that the main drawback of this vape is the battery but I have a small battery pack I could just charge it with in my pocket after I'm done with my sesh, hopefully it will charge quick enough to be lasting.

Looks like I'm too late to weigh in. I'd second @Mr.Sifter's recommendation of the Solo II. I own a Fury 2 and once I got my Solo II the Fury has been relegated to on-the-go use when I need something pocketable. The added size of the Solo II translates to better vapor quality, better battery life, and more effective extraction at various temps. The Fury 2 is best with the glass accessories so if you use it through water to make it less harsh you'll enjoy it more. However, if you're using the glass bits then it's no longer a pocket vape.

Why? They have made substantial improvements, they have a lifetime warranty and as I said, I have never had ONE issue with mine that is over a year old?
I am hardly in the thread because I have no problems with mine.

I did not place @johnny_jungle in the new category since he has a number of high end vapes already.

I am sure he can make up his own mind?

A vote for the Solo 2. If your heat isn’t too high I don’t see any problems with a minute between draws. I think that’s probably the speed that I vaporize at. My temp is at 380 degrees and my sessions are anywhere from 10 to 15 min. It’s so easy to use and maintain. The battery is a tank and lasts a long time between charges. Just sit back and enjoy the vapor flavor IMO.

I’m not suggesting the Grasshopper quite yet to folks. The jury is still out on that one. Just check out the thread. I have a hopper and I have had the experience of sending my unit in for repair.

No access I'm afraid, dry herb only.

The lil bud is similar to the milaana or mistvape. It's just fairly new so fewer reviews.
What is weird for you about the tubo? So far, and I have quite a few of the recommended ones, it is one of the easier, efficient and good tasting vapes I own or have tried. You can set it for how many minutes you want it to run or just press the button and use it totally on demand.
