Political Haiku

[Tranquility]

Let me go out on a limb and say political temper still seems high. I know some still want to talk about things, as do I; but, we've had two threads shut down. Are we so wound up to not be able to have nice things?

Let's try it in Haiku. Don't have to get into the specifics of style, just 5-7-5. It might cause us to slow roll some of our passions.

Progressives wet selves,
Trump is said to be Devil;
Four years to retry.

We will see in two,
Mid-terms are referendum;
Will Congress then shift?

In four, look ratings.
If good, people will renew.
We love amusement.

If not, both sides look,
Turd sandwich giant douche again?
8 ball “not likely”.

I think I understood that as if Trump is bad he won't be re-elected in 4 years. I can't disagree with that.

Edit: I just read up on Haiku making so bear with me.

A songbird stifled
Hillary's party in flames
Rolling back an age

A madman cometh
swelling in fame, unaware of pain
And looking for gain

Could be different
But it's all just a game, pray
The songbird come play.

Edit: Just for clarity. Three people are referenced. The songbird. Hillary. And the madman. Pick which is which.

Edit: Wow that second one. I miscounted by two. Leaving it here just to remember it. Not a haiku though.

It's disappointing that we can't have a good honest discussion without the political thread getting trolled. It might be breaking the rules contributing to this thread since the other one was shut down. We need to act like adults after all this is an adult forum. I will wait from an OK from the mods. Thanks for hanging in there. We have a great political group. It's been cathartic.

Edit: @CarolKing I think I did this one right. Check it out. You break it apart by vowel sounds. Not exactly by individual vowel, but by phonetic sounds. You know how when you were in grade school you practiced clapping the words by their vowel sounds. Same thing! I hope this helps you. Try sounding them out and checking after you write each line. It helps.
