Please compare vapes

I notice there are quite a few people here who have similar but not quite the same vapes. I'm always curious about the differences between them- the pros and cons. But we can't ask those kinds of questions in a thread dedicated to a specific vape. I'm not talking about rating which ones are best. More like: for those who own several butane vapes or those who have several different on demand wood ones like MVT, Milaana, Zion, Tubo. What do you see as the strengths and problems of each one.

Well I guess I'll start with my logs:
1. The Hi and ToastyTop: The shape of my HI is perfect for fitting into my rather small hands. I love the color and texture. I think Alan's work is beautiful whether it's his vapes or stems. So for me, vaping with one of his logs is as much an aesthetic experience as a medical one. And the TT is shaped like a top as it's supposed to be. I tend to use it less because of the size of my hands. The one negative of the HI is that I bought it with a different core than the TT. Most of my stems fit the TT and only 1 fits the HI.
2. Underdog: I have an older model and bought a basic one. There are some ones made out of special wood that look really nice. With mine, I really like the choices of stems that came with it. You can choose 6 stems and there are 8 stem options. I chose duplicates of the ones I knew I would use the most. It also comes with a small copper cup for essential oil that I use a lot. Easy to clean. No real negatives.
3. Woodscent: This is a new log for me. Ed's woodwork is great and I've used his other products before this came out. He is a master woodworker. Some of the wood he uses makes me drool when I look at pictures of his vapes. What's really nice about it, for me, is that my vapcap stems work well with the woodscent. Perfect for microdosing. It would be a bit harsh for me because I have breathing issues but I have some vapcap stems that are long and thin (made by phatpiggie) that really cool the vapor.
4. Enano: I'm in the minority with this. It came with one stem. I rarely use it. I have nothing negative to say about -just tend to use the others more. Actually the one negative is that it's cord only works with the enano. The others have an interchangeable cord and I have them ready to use in a couple of different rooms.

I own three butane vaporizers. When I first started vaping, the butane vapes did not appeal to me at all. I purchased a Lotus from reading about it on here and a few other places.

Lotus-- my favorite butane vaporizer. It's versatile, use it dry or, where I feel it really shines is through a water piece. The taste is outstanding and it can produce large clouds. This is just a very enjoyable vape to use.

Hydrobrick Maxx-- I like the maxx but I find that I dont use it very often. It can definitely give you some big rips, clouds as big or bigger than a Cloud Evo. I find the taste is good but not as good as the Lotus. I feel like this is a vape station device although it is portable. This would be a good one to have on your bar in the basement.

Vapcap M-- I have only had this one for a month or so and I like it alot. Outstanding extraction on this device, amazes me. I need just a bit more practice with this one but its a very nice vaporizer. I see an Omni XL in my future.

Butane vaporizers, for me, is as much about the control you have over the process as the high. You are in charge of everything, no electronics, which makes them fun to use.

I've talked about this before but the Milaana and FW4 seem really similar on paper but in practice fill quite different niches.

Milaana is all manual and all technique, instant on demand. Really terrible on the go, stem system is not easily portable or stealthy. Hard to show new people, since they don't have the technique and either dont get results or combust.

FW4 takes a few clicks and buzzes to get moving but provides more of a "session" convection experience. Great for on the go with the capsule system. Also great in groups since it keeps going and all you have to tell a friend is "inhale."

Milaana has better flavor and versatility, but the cooling unit does a great job on the FW4 and it's a smooth, consistent experience.

The hopper has mostly been replaced by the FW4 for me, but I still use it when I'm feeling lazy or stealth is paramount. It's the easiest vape in the world to clean, nothing really even sticks to it. But the vapor is hot and harsh, the mouthpiece gets burning hot after a few hits, and the flavor is severely lacking.

I don't own multiple brands of the same type of vape, however when deciding what to buy the main factor I go by is which device is praised in reviews/comments most often regarding vapor quality and potency.
As far as log vapes go, I chose the UD over the Enano because of the wider stems allowing you to pack a bigger bowl, and plus they include more stem options for the money. I don't usually do microdoses or session vapes, I prefer the more potent and less frequent on-demand medicating; 90% of the time I'm using a WP.

1) Sticky Brick and Daisy - These are great as a desktop and can work as a portable, but they are definitely a bit big for that, way beyond pocket sized. The flavor is amazing and any wood taste goes away pretty quickly. The draw is wide open and cool, I never need to run it through water. I can extract a small bowl in 1-2 hits, medium is 2-3, and a large in 3-4. It varies but if my technique is ok I can usually pull it off in those amounts. The daisy has a wider bowl that the sticky brick which makes it a bit harder to do smaller bowls. Also the glass for the daisy isn't as good. The wood on the daisy is a little softer/polished with all the edges rounded and weaker magnets. I like the rounder edges and the slightly weaker magnets makes it easier to use, but also makes it easier for it to fall apart. Picking it up by just the intake block can be a little risky on my daisy. Sticky brick comes with a magnet on the outside for a tool and another magnet on the inside that let's you tilt the bowl block (hard to explain, sorry) which I like. Cleaning the glass for both is easy, but scraping resin out of the wood can be a pain. It depends on how you clean it and your material, not my favorite vape to clean. Overall one of my favorite vapes, I love taking it apart to load/stir and putting it back together.

2) Sticky Brick Jr and Lily - These are also both portable friendly and could also easily be your desktop vape. The brick is more protected though as all of the glass is covered by a wooden top, the lily leaves some exposed. The brick looks like it has thicker glass too. They also both run a little hot, at home I prefer to use them through water. The draw is still wide open though and the extraction is just as powerful. Maybe more powerful, it's a little easier for me to combust on these. Glass is small and easy to clean, same resin issues though with the wood. Not bad, I just wish I could throw it in a bag with iso to get it spotless again.

3) Vapcaps - These are really simple to use, they have great flavor, and there's a lot of variations in them and their accessories. The thread is great, the company is great, and there are a lot of 3rd party fc'ers making great stuff for this. Super easy to clean, especially the glass ones. Just a quick iso soak. They're great solo, in water tools, or j-hooks. Great vape with a great community. Some of the bad is the really restrictive draw, having to mouth pull vapor, and o-rings. The restrictive draw really get's me and I did mouth pulls to get vapor which I wasn't a fan of. I tried other ways but never got the results I wanted. For whatever reason I also found the black o-rings for the ti tip to be an absolute nightmare to deal with, constantly bulging out and tearing. I preferred the glass og for that reason, I also thought the taste was better out of the og. Oh and the carb, I covered the carb 100% of the time so I wish it was optional. I ended up plugging it with a little teflon tape but I'm not a fan of how it looks.

I need to spend some time with my mvt, Apollo, and dlx one/pro and then I'll post on those. Unless you want to hear anything specific @little maggie.

I'd love to know how you like the DLX's after you have more time with them. More in comparison to your other similar vapes.

Well, I've updated my sig and widened my circle of contrast and complimentary vapes. Sure others have done so in there own manner.
The last post was mine when I sent the EQ back. Before my CFX, Curly UD, 2 EVOs, and the 2 Dynacaps. Vowed to get an off the grid vape for over two years.

Compatibility points-
I can use my ELB's with my CFX. Desktop <-> Portable

Use EQ to dry EVO's hydratube

Socket compatibility on most of my vapes. Bought a special glass adapter so my EVO and UD can work together in my Do20-d. Like a lot of veteran FCers have done before me.

Good Contrast-
EVO - auto shut off which is needed for heated glass. No-Brainer

UD - always ready so It can start things when the EVO heats up

'M' - Anywhere I can use a lighter, If I'm warming up the UD.

Possible Outside projects- nonvape with a vape.
Might make candles melting beeswax with the UD's copper pot.

Essential oil extracts with the EQ.

Others; Natural bug repellent. herbal vape blend of anything bugs dislike. Lavender

Lip balm, skin protection, weatherproofing wax.

I feel my sticky brick always gives me a mostly wooden taste and thick vapor, all i ever hear and read though is about its amazing taste! Maybe its my torch distance? But i never ever combust or scortch the herb so im not too sure

Intrested in the lotus, is it really a flavor powerhouse? It doesnt cost too much and looks like a great addition to my collection, but is it another one where flavor depends on how you use the torch? I would love a great tasting butane vape to add, im hearing good things about the Hammer Pro too

My experience with the Lotus has exceeded my expectations by a lot! I did do research before I bought it of course, but I was very surprised at how good it actually works.

Opinions vary so your experience may not be as positive. We all have different tastes so please dont read this and say "well, it must be great" and go buy it. Definitely check around other places on the net, read reviews, watch vids of the vape on youtube, etc.

I feel abit bad and feel like i spoke to soon...after writing this about the sticky brick i came upon a comment about draw speed, that it has to be FAST,i draw very slow, so i tried it fast and wow...that taste, the amount of fruit that coated my lips was ridiculous!! I think im in love with the Jr now, and it took me to write my previous comment, search the forum and try again a few minutes later to realise how great this taste!!

@cgod glad u figured out your technique with ur brick. To me the taste from a brick is sublime. I find the taste from the spalted maple to be scented like fresh bamboo, the walnut taste like chestnuts to me.

For being openly stealth I like the vapor genie hand-carved. I had a hammer and it was great, but I had lighter issues at the time and got rid of it. I've also got a sublimator campfire thingie on a chain that I've never used; I'm sure it's great.

Can anyone else compare them besides StormyPinkness? He hasn't had enough time with them yet. And if I don't get a Nomad, I'll have money to buy both DLX's.

The daisy is like a huge wooden pipe that I can use dry for anything from flavor-surfing to monster hits. It's kind of a novelty for me, but I'm sure it could be a daily driver under the right circumstances. I just like looking at it, it's like a tabletop fidget sculpture or something. The lotus is more of a workhorse for me, I have a small 7th floor bubbler it pairs very well with. I don't use it dry, even though I picked up one of their long stems in the forum I greatly prefer it with the wpa/bubbler. I've never tried their hi-temp plate.

I'm also interested in comparisons between vapman and lotus. These are both relatively cheap and interesting butane vapes I'd like to try at some point

I've never tried a vapman but having long considered and read about it, of course I have an opinion
It's from europe, and reportedly does very well with traditional hashish. The lotus is from the usa and does great with flower, and perhaps with their new hi-temp plate it does very well with hash, but it's probably designed more for modern extracts. So it depends on where you are, and what you want to vape.

Ha I actually still don't have my DLX Pro. The DLX One he sent me as a free gift for being one of his first customers came exactly a week ago. He even sent that a few days after my original order shipped. I'm not too worried though, that's the magical mystery of customs. My Apollo spent almost 2 weeks in Los Angeles customs when it came from Finland.

I'll totally compare them when I get them for you, I have a feeling I'll like the PRO more because of the wooden bowl. Is there anything else you wanted a comparison on?

For the Daisy I used a silicone adapter @Ratchett sells (the black thing) until I started using the hyrdro add on from Sticky Bricks. This works perfectly. It's a little tilted on the Daisy, totally not a problem though.

This is kind of a weird way to use the adapter.

You can also put the adapter in the glass mp like @muunch (hopefully he doesn't mind me using his pic).

You could also flip the adapter so the big end is in the glass and then a 14/18 mm female adapter would fit over it. Like in the middle pic.

The Lotus has better flavor and can handle bigger loads. Vapor from the Vapman is hotter and can be harsh if going for higher temperatures.
Both excludes the actual burning flame from the air path.
The Lotus doesn't have any wood taste due to charring, the classic Vapman has a distinct taste profile especially when new. The one with the mica shield doesn't have this problem but IMHO the mica shield is ugly as fuck.
The Vapman works better with any kind of hash and with concentrates.
The Vapman is more portable, while the Lotus cap itself is very small you need a pipe or water piece to use it. Also the Vapman's egg is an amazing object.
The Vapman is also more stealth as you just need to heat it for a very short time, can be kept hidden in your fist without burning yourself and doesn't require you to keep drawing while you heat it. This combined with its design also means that the Vapman is one of the less crack pipe looking butane vape around.
The Vapman is more efficient but the Lotus can give bigger clouds.
Regarding the ease of use I'd say they have a similar learning curve, the Lotus can maybe be slightly easier to operate if you use it with a glass j hook or any glass piece as you can see the vapor flowing.
The Lotus is the butane vape that caused me more unwanted combustion, especially if running it through water. This is obviously my fault in the quest for the biggestr hit but if you are a cloud chaser is worth knowing.
I really like both vapes, If I had to choose only one it would be the Vapman but I'd definitely miss my Lotus.

I may have to check out a Vapman again. I almost bought one about a year ago.

I recently purchased a new cap and bowl kit, high temp cap this time. So now I have 2 Lotus vapes. I am using the new cap/bowl kit for some really tasty hits, not pushing the heat much at all. My goal is to NEVER combust with this new kit. So far so good. I figure I can use my old cap/bowl and push the limits there if I feel the need.

Oh those flavorful hits are so awesome!!

I have combusted so many times with the Lotus doing exactly what you described, chasing those bigger hits. The weird thing is, I know how to use the Lotus, but I always seemed to keep pushing it and, well you know the rest.

That's why I stopped using it through water in favor of the Omnivap. Very predictable outcomes, very easy to consistently milk my piece, almost impossible to combust.
I reserve the Lotus mostly for daytime sessions with an @Oregonglassblower j hook and in this configuration is my favorite vape for tasting new strains. Pure, unadulterated convection flavor.

Speaking about the Omnivap: it's an absolute beast through water and it's an amazing piece of kit for traveling/hiking. It's tiny, easy to clean, almost unbreakable, works with any heat source and performs very well with unground nugs so you can leave your grinder at home. It's also more stealth than the Lotus (but the Vapman still wins in this category) and it's the quickest vape of the lot, you can load it, have a session and dump the abv in just a couple of minutes. Depending on how (and where) you heat it you can adjust the temperature and have very tasty hits or very big clouds but I find more difficult to keep the temp low than with the Vapman. Like the Vapman the vapor can be quite harsh given the small size and short air path.
Compared to my friends Ms is lighter and more refined, the Ti tip works slightly better than the SS one and I find the adjustable air flow feature very useful as I like to restrict it a bit when using it through water.
I own the old body and personally I like it way more than the new worked one but that's entirely personal and I'm sure that the function is the same if not better due to the new tip design.

I would love to try a Daisy/Sticky Brick/DLX type vape but at the moment I have no money to invest in another vape and also the competition would be tough with the new Herborizer Ti and the Wood Scent looking very interesting.
