On the topic of heat, just curious, what temps should use with the POTV ONE? I've been using the POTV ONE for about half a year and I've used only one setting. I watched a YouTube video and was suggested to raise temp to 380-390. Been thinking about reducing to see how low I can go and still produce decent vapor.
Anyway, today I found some CBD dominant strain called "Shirley Temple" and was wondering, since I've been vaping at the 380-390F° range with high THC dominant strains, should I change the temp to gain the best CBD vapor quality. Do different temps affect different cannabidiol's, ie: THC vs CBD? Anyways thx in advance for any response!
Edit: I believe there's another thread that talks about temps. Anyways still interested in POTV ONE temp experiences. Thx again!
Some folks like to temp step through a bowl/fill. I am one of those folks.
On most of my vapes I'll start off a new bowl at 380f depending on the vape and if needed, allow 15 seconds or so for some heat soaking of the bowl before taking the first hit. Take a couple of hits at 380f, temp step to 392 when 380 stops feeling worth it or there is no visible vapor, then 405f and then max. Some temp-steppers will start at a lower temp then 380f. The benefits of temp-stepping instead of just jumping to the higher temps is that the good flavor will last longer, you'll get more hits and usually it's less harsh starting at the lower temps. If I'm looking to get right at the high quickly I'll start in the 390's and when that's not producing I go to max.
I don't worry about strain when I'm deciding on temp. I pay more attention to the herb itself for things like how dry, sticky or dense it is. The other benefit of temp stepping is you get a good idea what temps work best for the herb you're working with on the first bowl.
As far as temperature dependent effects....there have been pages upon pages of posts about the topic by some very smart people so I'll leave it to them.
