Well, no, they are plastic so i'd only swab them with 70% ISO.
Which is exactly what I did.
I find 2 things kinda wrong with the PonG.
Mine had that resin build up, and since I have popped the screen out before, its bent a bit and removing it again wasnt really a concern.
This is the first thing wrong though, its terribly hard to put the screen back into the PonG without bending it.
I swabbed the whole PonG and let the screen soak. What I noticed was that the PonG is scrapped up from the screen. I dont know if this affects anything. But the PonG is definitly discolored white like scuff marks on plastic. Thats problem 2.
Ok, so I've had the pinpro for a couple days now and have been doing a comparison to my ascent. It's great, just not the beast I'd assumed it'd be. Don't get me wrong, it's a great vape and a giant leap from the OG pn. I may have just built it up to much in my head. The way everybody made it sound I thought it was going to kick my ascents ass! It doesn't. For many reasons I'll give it a tie. They both have there very high and very low points.
Ease of use:
This is an easy win for the pinpro. It's just so damn simple. While the ascent is much more technical.
Cleanliness:
Another easy win for the pinpro. Bullets are so easy to clean and your done! Ascent is much more difficult to clean by comparison.
Taste:
The ascent is the clear cut winner in this category. The ascent has great taste all the way up to about 418-422 area. While the pinpros taste falls short from setting 3-5 and isn't all that great on the first 2 by comparison.
Vapor production (clouds):
Here is where I had initially thought the pinpro was going to whip the ascent. They both produce good thick vapor. The ascent makes you work a little harder to get it with is slow sipping style, while the pinpro can be sucked on by my combustion friends as hard as they want. The ascents vapor just tastes soooo much better! To get the pinpro to produce the kind of dense vapor I achieve in the ascent in its 385 range it has to be on setting 3 and the taste just isn't there. I know I'm focusing on taste a lot but, when you grow the kind of high quality connoisseur strains that I do then taste is a BIG factor! The taste of the ascent really lasts.
Efficiency:
The pinpro wins by a nose here. It is very efficient but, I can use similar amounts in my ascent with the bead I have plus I think the ascents efficiency will be much better once the glass crucible comes out. I do notice that I get more pulls from the ascent but, not by much.
Durability:
Obviously the pinpro knocks this one out of the park! It has no glass, no oled, no chrome to chip and break.
Battery life:
This is a non issue for me as I'm always able to get my portables back on a charger before they die it seems. The ascent does have better battery life though but, it has the discharging issue while not in use (hopefully being worked on). Both are able to be used while on the charger.
Medicinal effects:
Even though I enjoy the flavor and hits of the ascent more, I've gotta say the pinpro gets me noticeably more medicated. I walk away from a session feeling like I was taking big bong rips or doing dabs. There's something special about this little vape.
Other thoughts:
For some weird ass reason my pinpro clogs my new fritted hydratube after 1 or 2 bullets! I don't understand why. Maybe thicker molecules in the vapor?!?! Lol I have no clue. The ascent does not do this.
The ascent is a chore to load/unload and keep clean compared to the pinpro.
Overall:
These are both equally great portable options. It all just depends on the user and what he/she will be using it for. I find myself using the ascent for personal sessions and my pinpro for sessions with others just because it takes ZERO technique. I used the same strain with the same cure from the same jar off the same bud for these comparisons. I've been as completely impartial and honest with these comparisons as possible. AGAIN, THESE ARE BOTH GREAT VAPES!!! These are simply my opinions and as we know, opinions are like ...................

This thing rocks.
I can pack half a bullet with fine grind top shelf then toss some kief in the bullet and top it off with more fine grind top shelf.
By middle of first session on 2 I will have vapor literally pouring out the mouthpiece and I can blow out huge clouds for fun like I was puffing on a spliff.

For those of you that don't have a WT, try using some tubing on the PonG. Someone mentioned this in the original PN thread. Just a little bit of lengthening the air path will cool the vapor down a lot. not as stealth, but more stealth than using the WT.
String the tubing up a sweatshirt while the pinnacle is in your pocket. Super stealthy
@VaPeD&CoNfUsEd regarding the clogging, the ascent has the glass screen that gets clogged. Remove that (replace with mesh screen like PNPro), and try with just the WPA to the fritted hydrotube. Will probably clog faster now. Ascent also has a longer path for things to stick before it reaches the inside of the hydrotube.
What size would work ? Do you think it could be down with a mflb whip?

I don't think so. I grabbed some of my old SSV tubing, which is much thicker, and it was too small.

The more I use the Pro, the better it gets. As others recommended, I now start the vape at three (for flowers), then when it finishes heating up I turn it back down to two. I pull decent rips this way and the flavor is a little better. After the 8 minutes is up, I turn the vape back on to three to finish the bowl.
I had a second go around with some BHO. Still having to do setting five with the wt. Getting better results. Packed the fmj about 1/3 full. Clouds are still a little wispy but not too bad, and flavor is pretty nice. You can't be skimpy with your concentrate if you want nice rips. That's what I've found. The more I put in, the more it gives back.
One thing I noticed on my last BHO session was the leds on the pro started going all weird. maybe it got too hot or something. They were flashing in a strange pattern then (I think) the vape turned off. I turned it back on and it worked normally for the rest of the session.
Edit: Weird blinking leds was actually just an indicator of the 8 min. shut off.

TRVB did say that using it out of the box while plugged in is fine just don't use the battery. I hope that decreases the wait a little.
Someone earlier said they used theirs without the MP, I was like HOW? Just realized he meant the MP tip... I have been doing the same, perhaps that explains why the vapor is so hot on my lips. Let's try this again lol
I forgot to add that in my mini report where I expressed my joy I was only using what I guess you US guys call 'mids' and I'm still satisfied. I can't wait to actually put something decent in there!

You're right. Just did another BHO session and noticed it every eight minutes right before it shut off. Was able to actually catch it and keep the vape up to temp.

Just did a little BHO w/ the planet vape f bomb. Very nice indeed. I also tried to mouth it with just the pong and even though it got quite warm I was still able to use it and blow nice little clouds. I still like my cloud 2 for dabs but the fact that it performs so much better with oils than the VB 2 is a bonus for me.

How thick are your clouds using the WT at level 3. I'm getting a little bit but not a lot. Perhaps how I'm packing the bullet is the culprit? I do a light back to the too then tamp down just a little and add a bit more. Not a tight pack but not exactly loose.
Even with not getting a lot of cloud this thing is quickly turning into my favorite vape. The feeling is very clean and long with the WT. Very different from the volcano with the same strain. For once my impulse buying paid off :-)

I just vaped a bullet but I think (I know) I packed it too tight. I was using the bamboo to tamp it down and I went a lot harder than I intended. I ended up vaping on 1 for a bit and it blew my pax away on performance. Better draw, better flavor, and quicker effect. I went up to 2 and vaped on there until the flavor left and then it got a bit harsh (probably because I packed it tight). I switched to the pong and used the FBomb for the rest of my session. Awesome clouds and I am baked really good right now. I picked up a few of those pill cases mentioned a few pages ago and then are great for switching hot bullets. Take off the MP, turn the PNP over an let the bullet fall face down/screen up. Then put the tube over it and scoop it up= no burned fingers.
I know I packed it too tight because I had to shovel the ABV out with the scoop end of my baboo stick. Very dark but uniform in color. Unlike my pax that still has green flecks mixed into the black and brown abv.

I pack mine tight also, use a screw and twist it into the abv like a corkscrew and it all comes out in one piece!!!
