Yes, the Pinnacle and Pinnacle Pro both have smart charging circuits to prevent overcharging of the batteries.

Thats weird, what email are you trying?
I hope you get a hold of them and get your issues fixed asap.
Hi,
I recently purchased a Pinnacle Pro and my charger does not connect and charge anymore.
How do I go about getting it fixed.
Thanks

the charger is only covered for 90 days and does not cover damage to the cord. Please e mail me a copy of the original sales receipt and I can issue a claim ID as long as you are in the warranty period.

I believe the issue is with the connector that gets inserted into the base. I was able to get it working by jiggling it, but now it wont charge at all.

I have a basic understanding of electronics and using a multimeter I can see the charger voltage is not coming through. I have a similar round jack and was able to confirm it charging with that.
It is most likely the connection in the end of the cable connector has been severed.
It doesn't make any sense for me to send the unit back when I can fix it here for no shipping costs.
Is it possible for you to send me just the end connector electrical piece. Or know of a place to pick them up. Its a very small and inexpensive.
Thanks

I would try radio shack. They are very good about that stuff. They are kind of like a local hardware store for electronics.

Could you tell me the size and type of connector it uses so I may get the correct one.
Higher temps is for concentrates I believeDecided to return my Ascent and got an RMA from GotVape.
So far, the Pinnacle Pro has piqued my interest the most. A few questions I have are: Why are the heat settings so high?? Usually vapes that I've seen don't go past 420F, yet this goes up to 470F! Does this require a higher temperature to get the dry herb up to temp, or does it actually get the herb up to the set heat? I heard this is primarily a convection vape, is this found to be true?
Yes, primarily a convection vape, but there is some conduction occurring and and to an increasing degree as one sets higher temperatures. Apparently, the Ascent blows the PNP away taste-wise due to the glass airpath and convection heating. There are a few comparison of the 2 models on page 90 of this thread, 164 of the Ascent thread, and probably elsewhere here on fc if that is useful...Decided to return my Ascent and got an RMA from GotVape.

Organicix has claimed mixed conduction/convection for the Ascent, but it's really all conduction. There's no heat exchanger to heat the air. That's why people have to pack things down to get it to work well with smaller loads. The improved taste should be entirely due to the materials used (ceramic, glass).Apparently, the Ascent blows the PNP away taste-wise due to the glass airpath and convection heating.
Dude Thats awesome, good job!!!!!I was able to get a hold of someone who said I could ship it back:
So lucky for me I found the needed electronic parts lying around the house and created a USB Charger
It charges well but the USB spec doesn't produce enough amps to run it off one port alone. I will get more USB cables tomorrow to see if adding an additional line will allow direct heating.

Damn, why can't I get the cotton filter working?! Are you putting something on top of the cotton (e.g. NO2 screen)?... I have also tried the cotton ball trick and it has been working great for me, works good with smaller load, keeps the material in place vs on the PNP mouthpiece screen.
Loading a full bullet on level 3+is just that a fucking vapor shotgun shell to the lungs, WOW

I tried again today with the cotton filter. This time I put a considerably smaller piece of cotton (just enough to cover the green) on top with plenty of clearance - well below the flange including the cotton. No screen on top. And again bits of sticky cotton on the mp screen. I've tried with cotton and an NO2 screen on top and haven't found that to be satisfying. I'll experiment s'more later, but ...
for now I'm going to go with just an NO2 screen and the PONG and a length of whip extender as my portable kit. I still haven't gotten used to the hot direct vapor as I have a cough and am a baby (strictly SSV+water diffusion ). I have used the WT out and that was fun, but not gonna fly as a regular portable addition. I do really like this little water tool though.
Anyway, don't wanna be complain-y. The PNP has been working great for me through my first sessions. Hit like a champ when I shared it recently. But more importantly it's been there for ME. So, we're settling into a nice relationship.
Dude Thats awesome, good job!!!!!
Great to use in the car even though usb cant supply enough power to vape while charging still a cool think to have.
This has the 5th setting for concentrates 470 degrees, if you look a page back (or two) I made a vide on heat setting 5 and the herb comes out uniform chocolate color.
The Pinnacle Pro keeps amazing me more and more as I keep learning to use it correctly.
I have videos on heat setting 3, 4, & now 5 showing cloud production to give you a better idea(more to come).
The pinnacle is a hybrid type vape convection but also conduction giving me a more heavy effect from it (IME). The taste can be great at lower temps (level 1&2) after 3 it can drop off quickly but your getting nice flavor at the beginning with larger clouds on the higher temps. I tried the 470 (level 5) degrees setting to see how large of clouds I can get and or if I could combust, and the answer is I got larger clouds taste dropped off quickly but the size of the clouds made up for it, and the color of the abv was a dark brown chocolate with no hint of black just even roasting
Tonight after dinner I went to do my after dinner session, and stumbled upon a new technique I will be doing when I want huge clouds. For my videos and normal sessions I load enough in the bullet that when I lightly give it a pat down ( not packed ) its about half a bullet and it performed great for me. Tonight I tried for the first time a fully loaded bullet completely full and gave it a slight pat down to clear the edge, I set it at level 2 and the flavor as usual was mouth watering with small vapor cloud but more than usual at level 2 . After the second hit, the hits I was getting were pretty large and just kept getting bigger with still good flavor. I finally bumped it to level 3 and was blowing fat ass vapor clouds and it was throwing my wife and my self into cough inducing fits. My wife finally gave up after like 5 huge clouds and I kept going till the load was not producing any more vapor(at least 7+ clouds).
I have also tried the cotton ball trick and it has been working great for me, works good with smaller load, keeps the material in place vs on the PNP mouthpiece screen.

Yeah, this works really well. A properly set up cotton (or hemp, but cotton is just as good) filter will catch all the larger particles, some of the smaller ones, and all the the particulate, while having neglible effect on draw resistance. Plus you can take out the filter and vape it when it gets saturated enough to noticably affect flow (which can take months), and that shit is going to give you the biggest clouds you've ever seen, in that the resulting sodden cotton is basically a perfect substrate for holding oil with maximal surface area (and thus rapid vaping potential), but at this point contains many times more oil than the same volume of even the best herb you ever had.
There will be some "sticking" as you say, but it's mainly rejecting larger particles mechanically, that is by packing the fibres tight enough that there's no complete paths through the wad that have minimal openings large enough to allow the larger particles to pass, so they are trapped and the smaller ones pulled through by gas flow. Essentially you want to pack the wad as tight as you can without noticing any significant draw resistance, and it'll do the rest for the next several months.
Another thing cotton will do is stop that the ugly brown hydrated-oil gunge patterns that form up the walls of a piece, often after just a few good hits. The walls will still collect resin, but much more slowly, and in a more even "haze" pattern without any water droplet patterns. Seriously, they can look "clean" for tens upon tens of good hits. Most of the shit that was getting stuck on the walls is now stuck in the filter instead.
One final note: Once you have a few loads through it the filter will become quite sticky to the touch. Do not touch or mess with it unless you really have to at this point, because squashing or compressing it even slightly will close up pathways through the filter, and now that the fibres are sticky they will stay closed, increasing draw resistance noticably. If you nudge a sticky filter accidentally you might find draw difficulty increases enough that you'll need to replace it, and ideally you don't want to replace it until it becomes sodden on its own as that shit is just mind-erasingly good when you finally get to enjoy it. If you don't interfere with the filter the resin will hold all the fibres in place just fine, and it will last a surprisingly long time.
thxThe second bullet is already inside the PNP unit, not in the bag with the other one.

OMG Looks like new mock designs for the pinnacle lineup Or maybe they are already in testing ;D
The avatar is actually a really old ID rendering of the original Pinnacle concept, before we engineered any of the components.
We have played around with the idea of a clear case, but have yet to proceed with it.
O damn. I missed that post when I replied. That concept looks so good. Drool.*The truth is out there.
@TherealVaporblunt I received mine today. I made a video of it with my Cloud. I hits really smooth and stacks nicely depending on draw speed and water level. I love how the frit fires, it diffuses so well and still gives good flavour. I love it, I can see this being used a lot. Thanks very much to you guys at VB and Simba for getting this to into my handsHas anyone received the frit disk wt yet??? I'm anxiously awaiting feedback
@ Sacrifus,
How has the pen case been holding up for the PNP?
This thing looks PIMP!
Curious if the MP has enough room to pop off? Or is it snug enough to keep in it place.
I've been using a very wide rubber band to hold the MP onto the PNP while travelling.
I just slide the band down to base of the unit while in use... it acts as a grip....
The wide band has been holding up really good.
The PNP got banged around in my pocket and I thought for sure the MP popped off and my herbs got scattered in my pocket... but fortunately it was still in place.
I've been pulling the band down over the LEDs to keep from being a beacon when using the PNP.
Also, I should mention that I make sure not to cover the vent holes at the base of the PNP with te band.
