Hey everyone. So I was wondering if anyone has experiencing making their own E-nail. Either through wiring their own PID, or buying a cheap one (I've seen the name Auber thrown around for cheap reliable PID's, I think the cheapest starts at like close to $60. Then I need a coil heater, right? That's another $20ish there. I don't know if my nail is compatible with an e-nail. It's a quartz bucket banger, but it may be too shallow to fit well into a regular coil. So let's say I need another nail. That's $15ish.
So that's $95 right there. The kits I've seen at my LHS which come with everything, as well as on Dhgate, seem to go between $110-$130. Is it even worth it for me to piece my own together at this point? Will it result in a higher quality e-nail? I can't see how much of a difference the pid or coil can make, given it's just the heat source, aside from how well it holds a given temp.
