Started following this thread a couple of weeks ago and now have a ZXXL and a ZX bundle on pre-order. The ZX will be my first wired desktop. Maybe my VAS will finally subside. I don’t think I will be needing another vape for a while.

I started following this thread a few days ago having never heard of Phase3 while looking at which Qaroma device to order and I just pre-ordered an ZX instead.

Guys as you have both probably already the various testimonials in this thread about the ZX and upcoming products. I am stoner from way back in the day. I started using vaporizers back in the early 90's when there were not many alternatives available. Let me assure you have made the right choice in ordering a ZX or the upcoming ZXXL. The ceramic zirconia will offer you a most excellent vapor experience. These devices offer better flavor than any of my other ball vapes. Both of you have made a solid choice. So my ZX had been shelved for a couple of weeks. Such a hardship to have to use the z8 for a while ! It's coil had an intermittent fault that was getting more frequent and started to annoy me lol. I ordered a replacement coil from AliExpress and whilst I was there for some of those camera mount bars with clamps that I placed to use for my "hot hole" build for the ZXXL.

It arrived a few days ago and yesterday I decided to get the ZX back up and running. I removed the old coil (it had been stretched as I first used it on a 1.7 iirc) which was very tight and went to fit the new one. The new one didn't have a tight enough friction fit to hold the head securely so, after being inspired by @kimura in the '24 most reached for thread, I thought about using it as a "hot hole" for the ZX. I had another dead coil in my spares that I was keeping to use with making custom handles that I've not got around to yet. Remembering that other people had used old coils for wireless head handles I broke out the Dremel and cut off most of the coils and fitted it to the head. It needs a little more straightening to be perfect but works well already.

Wireless is great and all, I liked the lack of torque from the attached cable but for my setting it's not that big of a deal. It did make moving my tiny rig totally effortless though so I'll have to see if I learn to love it even more over time. I can imagine passing to another person in a living room type setting would be marvellous to have the wireless head. I also ran my z8, at a much higher temp than I usually vape at, to heat the zbowl for a bit of extra night time ooomph which worked out quite nicely really. Almost like a wireless heated bowl! I'll be playing around with temps for that and the head and it's great fun playing with the different options. I might need to get another of those camera clamps though lol.

Since discovering this forum (and thank goodness for that) I've come to put great stock in the informed opinions of quite a few members here.

In short-order, I have managed to put together a collection of different vapes to meet different needs/situations.

In every case thus far I felt like I was making an "informed" decision prior to purchase. I am almost surprised how "informed" the decisions were upon trying my new toys. Folks here tell it like it is or--at least--do an excellent job describing how particular vapes work with their taste preferences.

I've had zero disappointments in the purchases I've made thus far, which is faint praise. Let me restate. With the knowledge gained here I feel like I have a world-class collection that will be "complete" when the ZX arrives.

I don't think I've seen a product with more enthusiastic reviews (that correlate with my preferences) than the ZX. Reviews from people I now consider "trusted sources."

I hope you enjoy the anticipation as much as I have.

I think we are going to have a treat with these.

Luckily interest in PHASE3 products seems to be improving again so I'm grateful for the new faces following along.

Consider me one of the new faces! By the way, is there a good way to follow Phase3 news besides, well, this thread? I don't see an email sign-up on your site.

@Housebroken I checked the Phase3 website and you are correct there is no mailing list to sign up for. There is an email on the website of help@gophase3.com. There is also an instagram account for Phase3 at https://www.instagram.com/gophase3. You can try either way. Ryan the owner of Phase3 does check this thread. You can try reaching him here on FC @invertedisdead. Ryan is a busy guy he is juggling between his Phase3 business while service as the main caregiver for his mother who is not doing well unfortunately. He does usually check this thread quite frequently. You should hear back from him soon if you reach out to him. Ryan is very responsive when it comes to answering emails and messages. But a mailing list is definitely a great suggestion to keep potential Phase3 customers informed of new product releases. I was able to find some reviews and questions and answers on the Reddit Vaporents sub forum. But I have never seen a direct message from Ryan in that forum. I consider this thread to probably be the most informed and up to date information regarding any of the Phase3 products. Thank you,

Perhaps the greatest mitzvah a son can perform is to look after one's mom (or dad) when they need the help.

Let's say this news, while I wish it wasn't so (and that Ryan's mom did not require caregiving), makes me all the more pleased to do a tiny part in supporting a small entrepreneur with strong family values.

In anticipation of the ZX, I now find myself thinking about glass and expanding my 14mm collection. I am contemplating a mini beaker tube ~10.5”. I’m thinking this may be a nice size piece to pair with the ZXs smaller format. What piece does everyone use most with the ZX?

@SwanTonSoup Lately I've been using the Rick Bird Barry Milkballer with my ZX. I also use a Mobius Ion matrix with it sometimes. It doesn't really matter though. The ZX plays nice with most glass. Obviously for 18 mm joints you will need to use the reducer. Otherwise use whatever you want.

I ran the ZX on a 10" straight tube and it was fine. However, I am mostly using a 50 ml globe with it now.

Mini beaker is my personal fav ZX pairing.

Together, IMO, this is the closest experience to an old school bong rip with the type of vapor characteristics I prefer after religiously vaping for ~13 years

Is the Phase3 coil compatible with the Crossing Technology Micro PID?

The pins in the plug for the heating coil are very easy to move around. You unscrew the shield and they'll literally pull out in one piece. Then just remove them out of the holder and re position them where they're wanted or need to be to be compatible with your pid. But the sounds of it you're good as yours is compatible. Just incase anyone else has to rearrange thought I should point it out. There'd also lots of how to vids on YouTube showing how to put make a male xlr plug.

The ZXXL’s just finished production so the ZX / ZXB should be done before the end of the month. That said, with everything going on at the end of the year I’m more realistically anticipating an early January ship date.

I apologize for the extended delays, trying to work the kinks out as I attempt to figure out the best ways to remain operating more efficiently.

Thanks for the kind words friend!

I try to make these public posts so that even if I’m lagging behind on emails that there’s still updates and communication being posted. It’s a lot more efficient to tell a bunch of people than one person at a time.

Dealing with the reality that not everybody follows this forum though, so this doesn’t work as well for me as it used to.

I recognize that and am trying to work through the hurdles. I greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation.
