pesticides in trim

What ever has been sprayed will be on the trim...........has nothing to do with being organically or chemically fertilized.
Plants take up nutrients in the form of salt ions do a bit of reading on that it will help your understanding regards what you perceive as issues........lolz.

I wasn't talking just about the nutrients used, but more importantly the pesticides and fungicides used on those plants.

Is there same level of pesticide in trim as bud

Is this a pesticide that you applied? If so, what was it? I’m a homegrower and have used neem oil on rare occasions, but it is natural and dissipates quickly. I really wouldn’t want to be inhaling or ingesting any unknown pesticides, for obvious reasons.

I can see a lot of datasheets on the relative non-toxicity of neem oil--even if inhaled. But, much like the problems with some vaping carriers when heated; what does Azadirachtin break down to when heated? Is that dangerous to inhale?

Yeah, I don’t know. Good question. I’ve been growing for over 30 years and have only sprayed my plants a handful of times, and no where near harvest time. It’s my understanding that neem oil dissipates fairly fast, so I doubt much, if any, is still in the final product. But I really don’t like to spray any chemical on my plants, organic or not.

So I should not buy trim. but does the water cure remove most of the pesticides?

I'm not sure where you came to that conclusion.
What are you calling 'the water cure'???
NOTHING I know of 'removes most of the pesticides'.
If they were used on the plant, move on.

My old friend Seraph was a big time grower and was not fond of neem, and as someone already noted, until someone examines what happens to it when it's heated, you don't know if it's safe.

your best bet is finding someone who carries product from Clean Green Certified Organic grows.

I only can buy on the underground market. so even if someone says it is grown in organic soil you really don't know. I think what I have to do is get a medical card at least the product is tested. My state has a med program and it has gotten easier to get a card. Although I don't have a condition but for anxiety I have ptsd but it is not documented but perhaps I can get a card. I read that water cure and I have done this twice that it removed the pesticides. I put the cannabis in waster for 7 days changing the water daily. then I dry it. It makes the vaping less harsh. And it feels like a better high to me. but I do it for the removing of pesticides or parts of the plant not required.

Depends on the pesticide being used. Some are systemic, which means the pesticide is inside the plant tissue, and no amount of washing or soaking is going to remove any of it.

Many are oil based surfactants however, and if someone was using these late into flower, I suppose you might have a bit of luck washing these off. However, as anyone washing oily grease off their hands can attest, the stuff doesn't like to just "wash off."

Also... y'all are aware that Neem Oil is approved in Clean Green operations, correct? So not sure why buying clean green assures you that it won't have residual pesticides in it? There is no reassurance it wasn't used late into flower, and there are also organic fungicides that can and are used all the way up to harvest (Not that the bio-fungicides are dangerous to use in this manner anyways.)

If you are that concerned, you are looking for no-spray grows, which is becoming a thing...

I will see if I can travel to Boston soon and get from the dispensary. I just would prefer to have less or no pesticides. Some say it didn't harm them yet but my understanding is use of pesticides is increasing and on the underground market you have no idea where it comes from. At one time I had a grower as my supplier and he was trustworthy but alas he has retired.

@adamster I'm old school and have had my fair share of shit weed. As I am not in a legal state I stick with sources I have been working with in some cases for 30 years and I seldom am aware of any problems. That said a friend recently gave me three different buds looking for an opinion. #3 gave me a headache and I threw it in the wood stove. The other two were nothing special and given my experience with #3 I recommended my friend forget his source. So my old school ways are if it tastes like shit or I don't like the buzz I may give it one more chance, but if it's a repeat offender I get rid of it. I suspect most of our fellow vapers follow a similar practice so shit weed will not sell very well. Either they grow good shit or develop pesticides/insecticides/fungicides that pass my headache test, but still risk cancer or some other detrimental consequences. I for one am hoping they focus on good growing and management practices.

Testing for pesticides/insecticides/fungicides requires processes like gas chromatography or polymerase chain reaction testing which requires a lot of expensive infrastructure. Labs testing for content and quality are being overwhelmed and many delivering inconsistent results.. it will be interesting to see how refined testing becomes overtime and who and how the testing facilities will be policed. I'll close by saying as much as we need the testing I am also in fear of what regulation will do and as such I look forward to having my own legal grow and knowing exactly what I am taking into my lungs.

Every single one of the five labs I have walked product into for testing as a producer offered me better results for more money......without actually testing any of it first.

Yup. Know your grow, or know your grower. I'm looking forward to the day when everyone has access to clean, legal weed, and the option to buy and grow clean, legal weed. So sorry @adamster, that this isn't the case for you now. For myself, if I couldn't grow, I couldn't medicate. It would just be too expensive.
Are you seriously considering boiling your bud? Just curious, but do you boil your fruits and vegetables to get rid of pesticides, or are you buying organic?

Look at the thread subject heading you used for this thread!!!
I am not a prohibitionist. I will consume Cannabis anyway. I am just trying to see about mitigating some harms. I was able to trade the trim and the fellow like it so much he gave me 3.2 grams of nice bud. I will vapo about 3/4 gram that I did keep of the trim possibly some bud in that as well. I guess it's one of those subjects different opinions because of prohibition no way to really know yet.
