The week was great in spite of my description of being slapped in the face by greed. They wanted to isolate their patients.. mostly rural and without internet.. from information.
Here, Vapes went out.
The week… has brought was a giant leap forward into the confidence zone.
Patients known to be shy and afraid… with the lowest of self esteem have been stepping up and looking me right in the eye, to ask for help/parts/information with the tools they have acquired.
I had collected parts from funds that were left over after paying all vendors off.
One young fellow met a couple here at my home.
I generally do not see more than one person at a time. I had that couple here I spoke of once, that each got a VG, thanks to a member here.
The young fellow I speak of came a few minutes early, and the couple was just leaving. The husband had his wooden VG in hand, and so in a moment of camaraderie with an older person, my young friend (18 year old patient), flashed his VG… the wife pulled out her "coil". all 3 smiled for a moment of unity.
The young fellow after the couple left could not stop giggling.
"Did you see me? I was right in there. We were all the same, and I was one of them!"
I was excited for him.
"You sure as fuck were!"
We finished our meeting.
He was here to get some of my body tincture for spinal condition.
I always slip him a bud or two.
I asked him how that free acrylic grinder was holding up.
He said it was great.. but I knew better… I paid 87¢ for those grinders, when I was much worse off than I am now.
I played it cool ….
I dropped a space case small 2 piece into his small box, next to his meds.
"That is a gift from the members ay Fuck Combustion."
Patient that has been without job for a very long time.
I got him a Buddha in 2011. Back then it was just me and Patty.
We fought hard to help.
Things are better now!
He was here to talk about flowers (meds)
He was so shy in the start.
A month ago I gave him a good grinder, and told him to tell me up front if anything goes wrong.
Today when he was done with flowers, he said:
"there is a little crack on my buddha wand, but it still works OK.
If it stops working can I buy a new one?"
I asked to see it.
it was no more than 2/3 of a wand, and the bowl was 1/2 size at this point.
He said it had been like that for months.
Damn….. using that wand showed some determination!
I gave him a repaired one I had fixed up a while back…..
and told him that it was his spare…. and then he received a brand new one.
That made my day good!
Wheelchair bound Vietnam Vet has been in my home a number of times.
I help him with medibles, and I got him an EZ vape a couple years back.
This week he called to ask if I could look at the cord. It was shorting out in one position.
He can not get his chair down my hallway to the vape room. We visit in the kitchen.
I had him sit, while I left to "repair" his unit. (I will be repairing it too… and passing it on later)
It was funny to see his face, when I pulled out a Da Buddha. I told him I had to alter the body on his plastic box vape, to get the new electrical cord to fit.
He raised his eyebrows smiled and said ;"
You sir are a liar, but you appear to me lying to my advantage".
Both of us had a good laugh.
Damn I like it when patients leave here feeling in a better "life position" than when they walked in!
I am in the works right now to get permission for a patient living in a long term care facility to use an extreme Q there.
I gave him an MFLB that was donated from FC, by his own choice, so he could leave the building and go to the smoking "gazebo" and vape. Problem is that summertime is upon us, and each day it gets less comfortable.
Hopefully we get our answer by Friday.
Here's to wishing you all thick, rich, flavorful vapor!
Talk later.
