I don't see why a folded up sheet of stainless steel similar to http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Sam...7496069&sr=8-1&keywords=stainless+steel+sheet cut the same width and the oven with some tin snips wouldn't work, folded as thick as you wanted it. Can't think of many rectangle already made pieces of ss that would fit into the oven, but maybe a trip wandering around home depot would bring up something inert we can use.

That's what I was thinking at first, but it's simply not necessary. As long as you pack it down, small loads work just fine. I also find the smaller bricks come out easier in one piece and easier to flip if you want to get the most out of your material.

How about a stainless hose clamp, cut to size. Buy the correct width and measure to fit length. Slots in the band should not interfere, and one could probably make a couple "blanks" from 1 hose clamp. Ima tryit

If you're trying to make something like a spacer for smaller loads, I think you're just upping the chances of popping the oven lid off. It's just held on by magnets after all, and wouldn't provide the pressure I think you guys are looking for without providing back pressure and pushing the oven lid off. Just pack down your small loads and you're fine.

I'm finding that small loads of finely ground material packs and stays well. After heating a bit, resin solidifies the brick. I can see where a super dry powder might have a hard time with a half oven.

I don't live in a medical state and I have found that the stuff I get does not really stick well in a small brick. No matter how hard I pack it when I open the oven it may be in the same shape but it does not stay at the bottom of the oven. It loosens up and some times even crumbles apart.

Exactly my thoughts. I so wish I could have a supply of some great stuff.

You might consider re-hydrating a bit. Some citrus peel is a slow release source of water. Boveda packs are sold to maintain cigar humidor humidity levels. I used them once maybe 5 years ago to rehydrate some super dry material. The process works, and for this process with Pax, I wouldn't think you'd need to add much moisture to make that herb springy and clingy

After usually two sessions, you can kind of see sides shrinking away from the oven walls. I kind of loosen it by lightly pressing on one end then the other, and then tap my pax straight down on my table. Usually takes a few taps, but it comes out in a nice brick and some crumbs. The brick's pretty delicate, but with a light touch, I pick it up and move it aside and put all the crumbs in the oven first. I like to do this because I hate see all the green crumbs that I threw on top of a brown brick are still green when I'm done, but that's just me being anal. I then pick up the brick from one end and lower the other end in first so it lines up, and drop the other end. Pack that down, and you're done.

One more question that I might have missed out here (and thanks for the earlier help): does the Pax "leak" vapor either during or immediately after use? I ask because a few times a year I travel to houses or hotels that have windows; I'm comfortable exhaling out a window but I would be less confident if the vape continued to exude an odor in the room after use. I know there's no forced air so I'm not thinking about the mouthpiece--rather, I'm wondering if the oven continues to "bake" the material even after inhalation has ceased, and if so whether it smells.

I was surprised at how quickly the oven cooled. One little inhale after you turn it off and I'm thinking that's about it. Of course the oven isn't airtight, so that would still be a liability

Yes, the Pax leaks vapour as long as the heater is on, and for a little time after you turn it off if you don't take a clearing hit. This is the major reason why I have been saying it loses flavour and goes through your stash faster than the LB. Having said that, the amount of leaked vapour and the smell given off is minimal. Vapour odour does not linger like smoke odour.

Mine does leak a tiny amount but if you sip it out of the mouthpiece and put your thumb over it you should be fine. Also, It does tend to smell a little while its on and once you turn it off, but one I put it back into a little pouch that i used to put my Ipod in you can't smell it.

All I can say about smell is if whatever vape I am using at the time is in my pocket I am told it is strong and people can smell it. In other words I always smell like herb. I can't imagine that the pax would be any different. It happened to me Tues with the DV although I must say for whatever reason it actually turned on in my pocket and went to 430. I must have forgot to turn the side switch off. The smell was still there before it did inadvertently warm up and lite up the whole room. I of course cashed my bowl without using it. I did take one hit and 430 and almost died lol.

The point is I asked do I always smell since I haven't combusted in weeks so my clothes don't smell now and they told me yes. I told the peeps to keep me posted on my herb smell. I am a bit obsessed if people know even though it doesn't stop what I do. I still prefer people don't know.

Here is a cool little story. I mentioned that I have 2 friends that I see every weekend and 2 weeks ago I turned them on to the Pax, and one woman bought on right away. Well Sunday I go there and one of them brought their father. Guy is from California and is 89. He owned a business or something, has had transplants and wears a pacemaker. He's also a stoner.

So after talking for a while, I break out the Solo that I brought for them to try. The Dad says he isn't really into getting high so early in the morning. I wonder if he really does use MJ. Then my friend breaks out her pax and he is instantly intrigued. He hits the Pax a couple of times and LOVES it. After his hits he sits down, breaks out his iPhone, looks up the Pax. Asks a bunch of questions and decides to buy one, but they were sold out.

I don't want to sound like I'm stereotyping older folks, but this guy blew me away. He was so cool and with it at 89. And I'm so happy to have turned someone like him on to the Pax!
