Ploom say 2 hours of constant use and 1 hour to charge, and I think that's pretty accurate. The cell inside is a C18650CC: datasheet a chinese 2600mah. If you're handy & can solder you could bump that up to a little under 3 hours of constant use by using a NCR18650B, a japanese 3400mah cell:
I think we're pretty close to the dark blue line, the Pax draws less than 1.3A
Thanks! But, you know it's a hassle, I would rather buy another one right away so I can have it for this weekend. Checking Vaporstore-any other places?@sessnet: if you feel strongly that you've been deceived, you can always call the credit card company you paid through and chargeback that transaction (if VW doesn't agree to refund your charge first, that is). Totally understand your frustration, what a bummer..
...yeah man sessnet....you could have just ordered it from ploom themselves...
Have you ordered one of theses batteries for yourself yet?
True that. I did want it by this weekend, but I guess that's my problem. On Ploom's site it says "anticipated" shipping 8/15....yeah I see that....it also says ship 8/15....which is tomorrow...not sure if you ordered today they ship tomorrow, or they already filled that and you have to wait longer...send them a email...how could it hurt?
...good luck man...after your 1st couple of hits...you will think back on this and...laugh.
my mouthpiece is also sticking quite often, even after frequent cleanings. I carry around a paperclip taped to the pax now so that in travel situations I have something to pry/pull the mouthpiece up and out of the body with. Would love to play with a different new model in a store to see if it feels any different too, etc.
I ordered one from http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=1624
The wire terminals are spot welded to the battery so they would need to be broken and the new cell would have to be attached, I was thinking with a bit of conductive epoxy. So even if you put the old battery back it would be glued not spot-welded, but I'm thinking about going for it; my battery came flashing red and even though it charges in an hour I don't think it lasts two hours... it's always flashing yellow and red at me...
Mine was doing this as well, it has seemed to stop now, not really sure what the issue is with this. Maybe something to do with the connection the mouthpiece is making? How come after it is ready and green, after I take a hit it will change colors to the temp color, and then I shake it, it goes back to purple and starts heating up again????
Wasn't like this the first night I got it.
I strongly disagree with that statement. I never stir my Pax and the bowls are pretty consistently vaped. I could probably get 2-3 more hits from stirring it once, but I get such satisfaction from tapping out a brick of ABV and tossing it aside that I don't bother. Besides, who spends $250 on a portable device and expects to carry around their own stirrer? The Pax absolutely REQUIRES stirring in order to evenly vape your herb. In my experience I've found that each oven load needs to be stirred around 4 times before you get everything out of it.
Edit: I don't want to be rude, but if you don't want to stir, you bought the wrong vape. Take a hard look at the Inhalater. Great performance, discreet(after removing the stickers), and no stirring required.
