Hope this helps some people, I know it did for me.
For smaller loads I like to use a stock PAX screen that I modded to make it a bit easier for removal. It also helps keep the material tight and doesn't move around. Material browns very evenly. Here's what I did.
I took an extra PAX screen and punched a hole in the middle with a center punch tool. Anything will work as the screen is a lot thinner than it seems.
I found a spare motherboard stand-off screw and nut and inserted into the screen. After trial and error I added a few washers to the bottom part of the screen where the bolt goes. Also dremeled of the excess portion of the standoff. This was adjusted to allow the correct amount of space needed for the material I usually use. I made two of these screens, one for a shallow bowl and one for a deeper bowl.
The key part to this screen is the metal stand-off is magnetic and allows for me to remove the screen without ever touching it. Also found it much easier to put back if a stir is needed.
During a session I NEVER ever need to touch the screen anymore and we all know how hot it can get. Works perfectly. Here's a link to what I did. I believe any small screw and bolt will work, use whatever you can find. The key is to make sure it's magnetic! I wish I could make a gif because the way the screen snaps up to the oven lid when I want to remove it is killer. PAX should really think about making something like this.
