Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

The sleep mode sets the unit to a lower temp as to not vape your material when not in use, but it is also there to conserve battery. It takes way more power to warm up the oven to operating temp from off then from the sleep mode temp.

Anyone know the temp sleep mode is set at?

Also, people with new, unused units, can you guys do the off-gassing test. Heat up to high for like 5 minutes empty, take a led flashlight and go to a dark room. Take the oven off and angle the light so its only hitting anything coming out of the oven. Can you see anything?

Got my pax at around 11AM EST time this morning. It took me so long to post because it was occupying almost all of the last few hours. The Pax is my first vape but I can say it surprised me in both function and portability! It rocks.

Yeah you know exactly how it feels! It's a pleasant change from combustion too. Like I can actually tase the vapor now. Yes I'm even taking it too my cousin's birthday party. Because I can!

Yes, E46 M3, I love it, but thinking about selling it and picking up another Corvette.

The Pax may have convinced me to switch completly over to Vapor, now I want to look into something for concentrates.

I can't notice a smell from the Pax, I mean there is a smell when your taking hits from it, but the smell does not linger. I took 3 good hits in the car on the way home with the windows up and AC on, I ran out to the car after I got home to grab something and it doesn't smell like anything at all! Like I said this is my first vape so I am new to the whole thing, this Pax is VERY VERY stealthy and I in my eyes its worth every penny.

I do have a question (thought I would start a new post).

Is it okay to leave the Pax on the charger with the green light on while its not in use (overnight or for a whole day while at work)? Or is it wise to take it off the charger when its fully charged?

Why are we doing this? I have not heard any reports about mystery vapor here like with the DaVinci.

I hope I have not either. When I was cleaning the unit very well to ship back for replacement, I turned it on high to dry it up and about 5 minutes in I decided to grab my flashlight and check for vapor. It was there! less then the DaVinci did, but it was there. I hope this was abv stuck around the oven.

My unit had a crack on the plastic by the oven so i'm getting it replaced. This time around I will be going more tests before I put anything in it. I noticed that the plastic around the oven gets very very hot.

My heart dropped when I saw that vape rising. I want a portable vape but I will not inhale plastic.

Well I actually got a set up that works for vapor bonging. Some of the Underdog thin silicone tube would go over the mouth piece.

Although I tried to use it on my 18inch Mobius 65t Stereo Matrix... it was to big for the PAX to keep up with. I actually could pull on it hard enough to get the heater to need to re-heat. I long slow draw work. You will not get super dense clouds on larger pieces.

You have to make sure you keep moving the device or it will go into cool down mode. I kind of shake it some while I am hitting it.

It would worker on a smaller bubbler or like a DG mini can. On a smaller piece you could get a good hit out of it.

I'm currently charging my Pax from dead and it's been on the charger for 1hr 20+ minutes and hasn't gone green. Has anyone else experienced the 60 minute charge time they promised? Heading to work and will have to leave it on the charger for another 7 hours.

take it off and shake it and see where the battery is. I have had mine charge to fully charged in 60 minutes... although I never charged it from fully dead but I have from red in less then 60 minutes.

The only discount you can use with the Pax is 5% off, both VapeWorld and Ploom are offering it.

But Bloom charges tax and shipping.. I got mine at VW for $237 and free overnight shipping..

If you did that a Bloom, even with the 5%, your total would be like $270 or $280.

I don't know how Ploom is to deal with directly, but I was really happy with my experience with VapeWorld so far. I ordered on Thursday night around midnight, and by noon today I was opening it up. Pretty cool.

Performance-wise, the Pax is surprising. Despite what everyone was saying about it ("oh, it's the best thing since sliced bread!"), I didn't see how something so small could really produce thick clouds, but it does. I'd say the vapor density (on medium to start and high to finish off a load) compares favorably with any other portable on the market. It's tiny, it's cool. It's like the Ploom guys took out everything you don't like about a vape and only left the stuff you need, then sent it all to a gym and made it work out until it was sleek and sexy and awesome. Frankly, it's the best thing since sliced bread.

Right now I'm really happy that I bought the Pax, and I'm really happy I bought it from VapeWorld, so I thought I'd add that to the discussion here.
