That depends on how it got stuck. If it's just resin build-up, then you can warm it up with a hairdryer and it should loosen up.

When you hit Reply, the forum software places a copy of the post to which you're replying in the post compostion box. Don't hit Post Reply at that point, just move your cursor underneath the quote (make sure it's not inside the quote) and type your comment. Hope this helps.

Mine ended up having a ton of resin in it. Cleaning in extremely well kind of took away the problem. Clean it as well as you can, and clean it after every 3 or so packs and you should be fine.

Ive had mine problem free for a couple of months now. I run a pipe cleaner through it every third oven, then do a good cleaning about once a month. If you are getting a sticky mouth piece it is probably cleaning related. If a decent clean doesn't fix, contact Ploom and they will send you a new MP.

Oh and don't forget to put a little bit of the MP lube on that moveable piece on the mouth piece.

After losing the adapter for my Solo, I used that as an excuse to buy a PAXFirst try, i used the steel filter to only half fill the chamber, huge toke hit me so hard it almost gave me a panic attack!

congrats, i'm coming up on a year of occasional use and after a rough start for the first one with a bad temp controller(flashing blue) the second one has hung in there pretty well. I use it mostly skiing and it is amazing for that.

Hello, I was using my PAX last night and I took the mouthpiece out to change the temperature. When I put it back in, it became stuck in the down position. I can push it down slightly, but it does not come back up. The issue as I have gathered from reading this post is that the floating ring is stuck. My guess is a lack of lubrication. I have tried using a hairdryer to heat it up but I had no success. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get the floating ring to move? Keep in mind that I cannot take the mouthpiece out and clean it seeing as it is stuck in the PAX.

I haven't encountered this, but I've read that you can use a hair dryer or similar to heat up that area and you should be able to open it and clean. THe resin gets hard when cold...

My buddies green one does it and he puts it in his car on a heat vent until its loose enough then he'll pull it up with a paper clip, then cleannnnn that pax! And tha spring!

Thanks man, I contacted Ploom yesterday so I guess well see what they say. I clean my PAX regularly, so I know this is a lubrication issue, especially when you combine the fact that I tried the hair dryer haha.

They should get you setup. But just to clarify, when I say clean...I include lubing the unit as I do so everytime I clean it. Problem-free so far.

Don't know how to remove it!

I clean/lube the exposed section, then push it (the "ring/spring") in the opposite direction and clean/lube the newly exposed area. Then, I clean/lube the entire outside surface and the edge that makes contact.

Haven't been on this forum in months. Just started removing the spring when cleaning. I use a very pointy thin wooden toothpick. Twist it around in the spring channel until you find the edge of the spring coil and keep working it until you are able to pull the spring up a bit. It's just a typical coiled spring like you'd see in a zillion other mechanical items. You might have to use the toothpick horizontally in the spring to pull it out. Be gentle so you don't stretch or bend the spring. Clean with alcohol and lube with propyl glycol. Place it back in the channel and press it all the way back in with the cleaned mouthpiece. Still experiencing occasional temp light issues but nothing so severe as to make me give up on the Pax.
