Alright, I'm new to posting but I'm not new to the thread. Haha So anyways, I had a couple questions

Compared to a bong how many "Pax Puffs" does a "Bong Rip" on average equate to?

Also

How many Pax puffs, on average, does it take to feel "right/medicated"?

I bought a Pax outright, without ever smoking. So in doing so, I haven't had anything to compare what I'm feeling, I can't tell if I'm actually high. I pretty much credited that to the fact that I usually have indicas which I have to struggle to stay up with, on a full bowl running from low-med-high. What I pictured being high was that of sativas but it's so rare for me to ever get my hands on them. I'd like to figure out what everyone else enjoys, because I feel like I could enjoy indicas just as much, as long as I don't overwhelm myself.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I use the 3 jar method each one labeled one for each temp setting ,jar A is for low heat ,Jar B is for med heat, and last jar V for hi heat.

During morning I only vape at low setting dump that abv in jar A, if stuff from jar A is vaped at med . Than it would be dumped in Jar B and jar V is anything that's been vaped at hi temp.

(save for cooking)

So if you have good amount you could always just vape fresh on one heat settings .

Low heat will keep you awake while med and hi heat might put you to sleep.

Hello,

just wanted to share my take on the mentos caps/tube. I bonded two of the tubes to make this little stealth sheathe :p Of course the PAX has to come out before I can use it, but I have some ideas to make the tube permanent and the PAX operable with it on.

BTW- I noticed that the vaporpedia page for the pax could include some more useful tips regarding packing/flipping tools, cleaning and other mods (not including this lol), is that page open for anyone to edit?

How ironic!....I found the Mentos today and used it for caps on my PAX. They fit surprisingly snug...awesome. How did you "bond" two Mentos containers into one longer sheath? Obviously you cut the tops/bottoms off....but how did you bond them together?

BTW...I also finally tried the two extra pax screen trick for a small ovenload....really works great. I had been using an old brass screen folded over......this seems to work even better.

I love my little Paxicle.

Medium, then finish on high is my new jam. I find the high a lot more pleasant, does anyone find that a lot of vaping on the low setting gets a little racey? Probably just the strains I'm smoking.
what you mean by racy? On my mflb, if I don't crank up the ac adapter I barely notice the effects. Is that what you mean?

genius! Does that help cloak the smell when you're in close quarters.

That is the one redeeming characteristic of the MFLB is that i can puff in a movie theater and the people sitting next to me have no clue. Burnt Joint smell would totally defeat the purpose of stealth, especially when it is so stealthy by design.

I bonded them with plastic cement from a hobby store. Worked pretty well after sitting for a few hours. The tube is solid and aside from the seam showing where the sticker doesn't cover it it feels like one part. In truth it doesn't mask the smell any better than the caps alone since the tube is held in place by the caps. Jesus typing this from my tablet has been a true pain in my ass

if smell is a issue stay off the hi temps and vape a bowl of wax instead, herb soaked in oil,etc when out and about .you use less (one or two hits i think you be done lol)

2 batteries is like half a hit. The batteries don't work for shit. I'll take 4 batteries on an outing cause most will be dead before I even pop the cap

I've never done wax or concentrates . Seems scary potent

Yup...gotcha...and thanks! Certainly the container ads a level of incognito...appearing like a package of gum. I think just caps will suffice for now....but your container idea is a great one that may come in handy.

My mouthpiece cap works GREAT...snaps on just like they were made for each other. The oven cap isn't a snug fit for me. I'll admit...my exacto blade skills were lacking a bit. Any tips for the oven cap mod? I had trouble cutting the lip out of the Mentos cap...it's a tough angle to blade that ridge off. Are you able to get the Mentos cap on the oven side to fit as nicely as the mouthpiece side?

maybe buy another one and put the removable cap on the other side. no cutting required

perhaps I wasn't terribly clear. I bought two mentos. The cap used on the oven side of the PAX requires an interior plastic ridge be removed. Once removed...I find this lid does not fit as snugly as the Mentos lid without the ridge moved...the one at the mouthpiece side.

Or perhaps I did write it effectively and you are just too stoned to read (JOKE:rofl:)

Hmm, it's a nice snug fit for me (as good as the mouthpiece end). Maybe you have to cut more of the ridge out of the cap? For your reference I cut it out completely so that the cap is completely flat (tons of plastic shavings on my desk :p). I made downward cuts on each of the corners so I didn't have to try to jimmy the knife around the corners while cutting it (does that make any sense?).

also, I think I'm going to make this edit to my mentos case, with the only downside being that I'd have to glue the bottom cap to the tube from the outside (not shown in pictures due to laziness), and I don't know how neatly I can do that:
d47r.png

My reasoning for this 2nd mod is that currently I have to take apart all three parts (two caps +tube) in order to use the PAX and I'd like to simplify the process a bit. By doing this I could grip the unit by the mentos case, and use a little slide (I'm thinking maybe a bent metal clip from a pen) to slide the pax up and down to use it. The holes are obviously for air flow. I'd have to remove the case to refill/stir but wouldn't have to worry about fumbling with parts during a nice stroll from my office to the plaza where I usually grab lunch ;)

Here's a question. I've heard how the pax keeps cooking herb a little bit after turned off. This obviously is wasted product. If you were to turn it off and take one more puff, wouldn't that cool everything down from the air flow. I know my mflb gets cold as soon as I release the battery and I finish my hit. There could be some thermal science that I'm not getting, but would that solve the cooking of wasted product while waiting for cool down?

Again...I like your ideas.

I figured you'd leave the bottom on a Mentos container.....cut super short....so that you really only have the sealed bottom of the container plus about 1/2" of height. Then cut the bottom off a second container....or maybe even need a third to get the height...whilst leaving the top portion which fits the cap super well. Then bond the sealed bottom of the first container to the cut bottom of the second (and/or third) container (which has its original top). This would allow you to simply have a container for the PAX...with one Mentos lid at the top. To get the correct height to accomodate the PAX...some variation of my method above may be necessary. This gives you a super stealthy and smell resistant carrying case.

Now...I am no environmental specialist or scientist....but I would not feel comfortable with your plan to utilize the PAX while inside of the Mentos container. Even with the holes....I wouldn't want that crappy Mentos plastic getting hot...and perhaps emitting fumes...that you'll be inhaling on a regular basis. Hell...I don't even use Saran Wrap in the microwave. I dunno bro....that Mentos container is "food safe" surely but I can't imagine that it is very tolerant of heat.

This is what I've always done. Not only does it help cool it down, it also removes any vapour that would otherwise condense inside the Pax and compound the cleaning problem. It cools down more slowly than the LB simply because the thermal mass is much larger.

Having said that, cooking after you turn it off is a minor problem, The real cooking problem with the Pax is between hits. This is a problem common to all constant-power devices that have some degree of conduction.

I've never had a worry about the stealth look factor... everyone just thinks I have an oldschool iPod nano.

Who is that weird dude who is sucking on his MP3 player? :brow: I really do agree with you...the PAX is a stealthy unit as-is. The poster wants to leave his office and go for a walk/toke.....I can understand his dilemma. I'm SOOOO pleased with the Mentos caps for smell control. Weekly cleanings and Mentos caps....AWESOME. BEST UTENSIL EVER!!!!

Also....regarding the talk of PAX being one of the smellier vaporizers. This may be true...I can't speak for this opinion as I was combusting a month ago. Coming from combusting....the PAX is FAR less smelly. I'm willing to use the PAX in places that I would NEVER have considered combusting. The unit may carry some lingering odor....particularly with a 1/2 vaped bowl within...but the room that you just vaped in will NOT smell like you just combusted for the next several hours. Love it.

Last week used my PAX on the corner of State and Madison in Chicago while wife was shopping. Bunch of smokers huddling around, no one even noticed or asked questions. Passers by didn't even look my way. Stealth in plain sight!
