When you press the mouthpiece down, you need to press right over the exit hole. Anywhere else and it will be much harder to get it to stay down. Mine absolutely refuses to stay down if I press on the other side of the mouthpiece.

I have tried to push it down all over the mouth piece, and all I can say is its intermittent. It wont consistently push down even if pushing over the exit hole. I have read a lot of this thread before my purchase so I knew I may have to adjust to pressing in certain spots, but this is just a pain.

This is interesting, I have not had this issue. I just push on the center of my mouthpiece.

Stupid question.. Are you pressing it down to just the first level? If you press it too far down, it won't stay.. I say ease up on it, and make sure you are hitting that first click, not the second.

I agree. You're pushing it too far down. Push it down until you hear a click and then stop. If you push it all the way down, it will pop up again(as it is suppose to). Basically, just don't click down too hard and fast, and you should be good.

Long time lurker here, first post…this is my first portable, had it for a few weeks and really like it. I do find it works better with a tightly packed oven.
What I have done to use a small amount and still have a tightly packed oven is put a layer of steel wool (cleaned with iso) in the oven bottom, then pack it tight.

Yeah i gave it 2 hours, but the sad news is that I am still having the temp light problem after a thorough cleaning. Is this a mouthpiece problem?

I saw a few set ups on this thread where people hooked their pax to a water pipe of some sort, but most of those pics got me wondering, when everybody says it's a big nono if you charge your pax right after you used it because holding it upside down makes that the remaining gunk in the tube flows to the mouth piece and it could drip into the spring area thus causing temp light / mouth piece problems etc etc
but in all those pics of those water pipes, the pax is upside down while on...doesn't this mean you have to really clean it every time you used it in that way or it will malfuntion alot?
(not that I would really mind because to be honest, despite the fact alot of people complain about the cleaning, I love to clean my pax, it takes no more then five minutes and afterwards it looks so brand new, almost begging to be used again :-)

I hit that sucker upside down all the time and I haven't had any issues with resin flowing toward the mouthpiece. I clean my Pax every other day though so it doesn't really have the opportunity to build up too much.

I don't charge upside down, either. It doesn't heat while charging. That's just one reason why I don't bother with upside down.

Thanks for that guys, the reliability of the close is much better now. Although it still doesnt close everytime I can usually get it in under 4 trys.

Yeah, I got screwed up about the mouthpiece too, the 2 clicks are really close to each other. Close slowly and stop immediately at the fist click. Now it's easy to keep closed every time.

I think people get the idea that it's like a pen or something at first and click down too hard and fast, but once you get past that, it's really quite simple. Click it slowly and it's easier to feel where it locks and releases.

Just received my Pax back from being fixed of its battery issue. They sent me a whole new unit! For anyone who is worried that Ploom doesn't cover battery issues fear not! My Pax is working wonderfully just as before the battery seems to be just fine. Now I am going to hook it up to my ZG(Zero Gravity) with the 1/2 ID silicone tubing I got! Excited!!!

Where you located? How long did the replacement and exchange take? what did shipping and it all cost?

Why Raise it up? Isn't that a perk in this unit that there is space from product or heat to mouth?

Greetings fellow vaporists!
I am fairly new to vaping but have been smoking doobies since the days of the Doobie Brothers...
I first purchased an Iolite Wispr in July and was so impressed with vaping that I immediately purchased a ViVape2 as my home unit.
I am now considering a PAX but just don't know if it is different enough from my Wispr
to justify a purchase. I do have one lined up for $204.00 which is a pretty good deal.
I noticed in the signatures of some members that they have owned both.
Can anyone chime in and let me know how the PAX compares to the Wispr?

Hey all.

I read the entire thread a few weeks ago (when it was a bit shorter!) and got my pax based on what I read. I know I saw this discussed so I hope you can forgive my posting about it again but I can't find the info I was looking for in this massive thread!

I love my pax, but sometimes usually after I've cleaned it, when I 'open' the mouthpiece to turn the unit on, instead of heating it tells me the temp as if the mouthpiece were disconnected. If I press down on it slightly, holding it in a little it will change to the purple heating light, but when I let go it goes back to the temp indicator (yellow orange or red depending). If I fiddle with it, click it up and down a bunch of times it eventually works, and once it warms up it seems fine, but this is happening more regularly now. I thought I remember someone said there is a newer mouthpiece design... is this the reason?

I clean it every day or two with ISO on a pipecleaner in the tube, never getting iso on the temp button or in the area below the mouthpiece, and I submerge the mouthpiece itself in ISO for a few minutes while I was the rest, then rinse it.

I also have this problem once again.
My Pax is immaculate. I clean it after every two loads, and do it with a pipe cleaner that is only slightly moist with 91% Iso.
I made a very positive post after receiving my 3rd unit, and I did get about a week of use from it, but today the troubles began again.
Mid session, the unit goes from green to red, as though the mouthpiece were not connected.
The heat ends and session stops.
I also must depress the mouthpiece a few times to get the unit to work. Sometimes a few good shakes will fix this.
I have a spare mouthpiece, that was brand new... never been used... I put that on and it is the same.
SO....
I got a week of use out of my third Pax, after the first one was returned and sent back... and the second had no temp control.
I once again am stuck jiggling, tapping and shaking to get a few hits... and as you pointed out in your first post ever, FriedClaustrum, it is happening more regularly.
During the week that this, my third Pax in a month, was working well, I enjoyed it.
*I will compliment VapeWorld on the greatest service I could have wanted...
*I will say that the Pax is a fun and good looking unit that I do enjoy when it works well.
and while a Pax fan myself.....
*I can not recommend the Pax to everyone.
EDIT:
I should clarify- I will not recommend the Pax to others that may be sensitive to the quirks and sensitivities this vape has demonstrated. If a friend has money, and has other vapes, I will wholeheartedly suggest that they add a Pax to the Arsenal. I will just exercise caution recommending this unit to those with limited income, or limited vape tools~

There is a spring around the vapour path in your pax. Use a small tool such as a pen knife (someone suggested the mflb brush if you have one) to lift and rotate it the spring and extract it. Once removed, give the area around the vapour tube a good cleaning with a pipe cleaner and iso, paying close attention to the clip that holds the mouth piece in. That clip is also what makes contact with the mouth piece and the vapour tube, and activates the heating mode. Put the spring back in and you should be good.

I've had this thing for 4 days now and I had the same issue today. I clicked the mouthpiece down and up again and it was fine and I didn't think anything of it, but now I'm more worried. I'll try cleaning the spring as you said, Dammit. Thanks for the guideance!

I only use the little dental tool and 99% iso to clean between the spring and the pipe. I've used bent pipe cleaners in and around that area, but that dental tool leaves no fiber and fits and cleans nicely.

Having said that, I have no idea if cleaning is the issue with Vito's Pax.

The issue is not a permanent one.
It comes and goes.
I still like the vape, and at this moment it is working without issue again.
Just ponder this....
The majority of buyers of this product do not read FC... and it is sad that they will never learn all that members here have discovered in the way of maintenance of the Pax.
How many people that are not FC members do you think have discovered that there is a spring area that can be maintained?
I edited my last post slightly.
I changed the spot that said I could not recommend the Pax to "others" to say "everyone"... because I just steered one friend away from it, while on the phone told another I think he should add a Pax to his collection.
