That being said, a dispensary near my has a strain called "Jokers Revenge". The lab tests they have up show it at only 5 or 6% THC... but over 18% CBD! Pretty interesting stuff, but I've yet to try it. Id love to get some concentrate made from it to see what thats like!

I think you have the wrong mental image of what Im doing. I will hold the syringe an inch or so above the flame and will keep it moving/rotating to distribute the heat evenly. I only warm it up a bit past body temp. That being said, holding it in your fist for 5 minutes or so will do the same thing.
It's similar to what Id do with one of those little gram sized plastic screw jars thats stuck closed due to concentrate being in the threading. Heat it a bit to loosen up the wax or whatever and it'll usually open right up.

No, actually really good point. The Dabbler pen has the coil up so high it's super easy to overfill and make a mess of the threads.. I'll be carful when loading...

@Chill Dude That's a good reason to prime the syringe by warming it. It reduces the pushing effort needed to get the oil moving towards the tip, meaning there is less chance of you pushing too much out on that initial try. Pulling it back beforehand gives you more buffer room for error. Add both together and you'll get perfect application each time.

Adding flavor maybe the way to go bulk. I can blast basters all day but the taste is always so-so. I like hearing about the subtle characteristics of better extractors. What do you judge oil by? Texture, smell, taste?

I'd say without smoking/vaping the product, smell would be my next best judge of quality. Texture and color can vary due to things not directly related to quality of product or process. Because of that, it's much harder to apply some blanket rule of thumb to those characteristics IMO.

So I picked up a syringe of the Organa Labs Shiskaberry (hybrid). The syringes are a great idea makes loading your oil vape easy w/o the mess. The flavor was actually pretty good, kind of a berry sweetness along with a citrus tanginess. But, as others have said, not a true cannabis like flavor which is a deal breaker for some. I found the vapor to be very smooth and reasonably flavorful. I liked the effects of this product. It was potent, yet we'll balanced. A very smooth, pure and long lasting high. Okay, I guess overall I give it a grade of B.
Caligula, I couldn't find any Mr. Nice or Pineapple Kush, I'll try to pick up one of those next time around....

I just tried Trainwreck and it tasted fantastic. Nothing like the others and i can not describe the flavor, but I liked it. i also got Jupiter OG and OG Kush. Jupiter tastes ok and have not tried og kush yet. All have been very potent.

I bought a gram of the afgoo and a gram of the dragon breath for 50 dollars a piece. The afgoo didnt impress me but the dragon breath sure did.
It left me in a coughin fit and I stayed medicated for over an h9ur off of one hit.
I vape using an o pen vape and reuse the disposable cartridges dispensaries sell by refilling them after use.
I highly recommend this stuff one gram lasted me a week.

This stuff's been in SoCal for a long time, I'm down in San Diego County and when I got my card a few years ago it was already around. I prefer to get the CO2 syringes, they aren't cut with PG to flow in atomizers easier (can also cause some people to cough). If I'm paying for a gram may as well get the whole gram...

What really impressed me was how strong it was and how long it lasted. I think I am a heavy smoker and will toke throughout the day and thos lasted me a week of heavy puffing.
If I could I would pick it up again but the only dispensary that carried them around these parts moved some ways away.
I talked to my main dispensary about carrying these. They are oil carriers and they said if they could find it aroundthese parts the would. So fingers crossed.
I dunno man, the other stuff does not get me medicated anymore.
I was ok using o pen cartridges at first before I realized they had a solvent and besides the ones made by Medwest around here are duds most of the time.
I then tried the liquid gold co2 oil and it still works for me but is runnier and less potent.
I still havent forgotten the organa labs oil and look forward to trying it again.

I agree, the syringes are great for loading into pen Vapes. No mess, no oil on threads, or fingers, or dab tools, or outside of device. Not only that, the co2 cartridges medicate very well! The only downside is the fact that the product can't compete taste wise to a quality BHO IMO. However, the taste is reasonably good and you get use to it after a while.......

Caligula, honestly I know very little about terpenes, but I do know(at least I think I do) that after co2 processing, terps must be added to enhance flavor as well as psychoactive effect. That said, I guess I'm okay with that as long as the lab/extractor is very experienced and has state of the art extraction equipment and exhaustive testing of the final product. I suppose that's why there is such a variability of taste and effects of the various co2 products......
Like I said, I know very little about the pros and cons of reintroducing terps after the extraction process. That's why I like to stick with well established and reputable labs. I feel comfortable with products like "The Clear" and Organalabs stuff. As far as solventless goes what are you liking these days?? Are there other solventless product I should try?

I'm not saying that the OL products are bad in any way here, just offering a bit of detailed information. I've used these products to good effect with my old W9 EO carts as a matter of fact.
As for solventless/solvent free, HGH seems to be making some decent quality (yet pricy) stuff. The Clear is also okay but I find their flavor to be lacking. Effect is on point however.
