Oral cancer and vaping

lazylathe

Almost there...
I am hoping that some one on the forum will be able to give me some guidance here.

A friend of mine recently underwent oral surgery to remove cancer from his jaw bone and most of his tongue.
He has a feeding tube in his stomach as he has severe difficulty in swallowing and cannot inhale deeply either.

We have been discussing using MMJ to help with the pain he is going through and he is interested in trying it out.
Today is also his first chemo and radiation treatment...

I have a range of vapes he can try out but was hoping for some guidance if anyone has any experience in this area.

I would imagine edibles are a no go because of the feeding tube.
I was thinking of trying Rick Simpson's oil as well.

He lives by himself so stealth would not be too much of a requirement.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think the best thing to do is find a good strain with high CBD and make tons of edibles or pills.

Just make some Rick Simpson oil and chain him in the house so he doesn't do radiation and chemo!!!

The oil should be enough but something tells me he won't see it this way…

I would use some sort of oil tincture. In the medical states they have sub lingual preparations from the company that makes gold oil. You could dilute the oil in milk or some other fatty drink and take it that way.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
Unfortunately the cancer is a very aggresive type.
The surgery did not remove it all and it has now taken over most of the left side of his head.
The Dr's have given him 1 to 6 months.

I have just been given this info and am still in shock...

Might be better not feeding cancer with milk... Have you ever heard of Caseine protein? Studies have shown it acts like an on-off switch to cancer. Drink cows milk=ON. There is a book called: The China Study. Good reading.

Although I agree that dairy would be best avoided when treating cancer, the casein/cancer theory is BS IMO, just like the "protein damages kidney" hypothesis. If you think the China Study is good reading then you best read this too to get another look at the other side:

@lazylathe sorry to hear about your friend. That is shocking news, and something seldom prepared for. I too agree with the Rick Simpson Oil... and many times the doctors don't know squat.

There is a lot discussed about China study and this is not a place to do so but they all agree on caseine. One major point of their disagreement is about all animal proteins being harmful...

I agree this isn't the place, but since you brought it up and say it's a good read, many think it's rubbish so just wanted to share the opposing argument in case others want to read and decide for themselves instead of only looking at one side.

@lazylathe, why about transdermal application? Like canna balm?

Sorry to hear that Lazy. I dipped and smoked in the past, so have a lot of empathy for the situation of your friend. Get him a digital Volcano. My Extreme-Q is an excellent machine for what it is, but for regular daily medical use, it would be wise to get a something with industrial level power and parts that stand up to heavy use and abuse. I'd try the RSO as well, since even vaping can be difficult when your in a weak state.

With regard to diet, I'd imagine that The China Study data concerning dairy and meat has more to do with the the hormones, steroids, ground up animal body-parts that we feed the animals than the properties of meat and dairy. To study such a subject with integrity, one would have to use milk and meat that come from an environment/conditions that had not been vitiated by humans. I have no medical/scientific qualifications...just a disturbingly high IQ and an insatiable thirst for truth.

Tell you're boy we wish him the best.

Thanks for all the support and tips everyone!!
They are greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately there has been a turn of events and my friend is going through the dark stages...
He is only letting two people see him and sometimes he does not even let them in.
I have had her ask if i can come and see him but he does not want to see anyone.
He knows what i want to talk to him about and he is getting some ditch weed from his cousin.

He is pushing everyone away from himself and secluding himself in his home.
I have tried to see him but he does not even answer the door for me...

So i am at a loss here.

I'd imagine that with terminal cancer (not to mention getting used to the effects of chemo), that there are phases where you just can't talk to anyone. Don't take it personally. If I were you I'd get him some kind of gift (lotus flowers just came to mind) with a note explaining that you intend to make yourself available, but will in no way impose yourself on him, would be willing to just sit and not talk. If I had to pick a way to go out, I'd want to be in a sea of Lotus flowers listening to Mozart, maybe with some dogs or cats around. Sometimes animals get it in a way humans can't, which can be very comforting.

I have done exactly that, minus the gift because he does not want anything...
He knows that i am available for him anytime and will do anything to help him out.
I hope he comes around and gets to grips with what is going on and lets his friends back into his life before it is too late.

Dude, this thread has definitely affected my life in a very positive way, being more appreciative for everything I have. It must be very difficult for you to endure this, but it sounds like you are handling this textbook, and your friend is extremely lucky to have someone like you there for them!

Thanks @biohacker

And to make things even worse one of our very good friends has just been diagnosed with a rare, aggresive breast cancer...
Not sure what is going on in the world these days.

The thing that really gets me is that she is 38, a health nut, a fitness instructor, work out queen etc...
Spends her life eating healthy and working out, it just does not seem right...

At the end of the day we can only be there for our friends in any way possible.

That's crazy bro. As we all know there are no guarantees in life, and cancer has many reasons and causes. The only thing we can really do is try our best to prevent it. Diet and exercise are only a fraction of the components....personally I think the most important things are sleep, stress management, sunshine in the day, and lack of light after the sun goes down as every single cell in our body runs on a circadian clock, and this has been occuring for thousands of years until the light bulb came along.

It sucks when you hear about those 80+ year olds smoking and drinking daily, or eating absolute garbage. But it shows that there are many more factors at play.

Thoughts and prayers bro.

The traditional common knowledge about carcinogens is probably still valid, but....

Aluminum zirconium in deodorant, birth control pills, growth hormones/pesticides in food, toxins inhaled from sitting in traffic or everyday life, and certain types of electromagnetic radiation all come to mind. You can't really blame the powers that be for not letting this stuff (if it's true) come into public knowledge. There are absolutely no financial incentives to prove these things (possibly negative financial incentives). If the general public got wind of this shit, it might cause complete mayhem.

Don't listen to me, I'm not a scientist or a doctor. =)

@biohacker I understand your position.

However I can't have anything COW or I get sick!

Dairy no way!
My diet is strict: No Gluten or Dairy (COW)
I eat open ocean fish and free range chicken so I'm not vegan!

Many good books on the subject for sure.
Pro's & Con!

However it's a matter of life quality for me.

So I don't care what somebody writes!

@lazylathe Sorry about your friend!

Thank you everyone for the advice and guidance.

I received the sad news that my friend had passed away this morning from the cancer.
