On vacation need to purchase vaporizer nothing expensive?

Hi all

On vacation and have all my meds and vaporizers at home

Minivap, da buddha , da Vinci.

I don't want to spend lots of money again but need something to take some meds I am hopefully picking up, as I do not want to combust

Any advice on which throw away or reasonable one to do the trick for 2 weeks.

Vaporgenie (VG) classic is $55. That with a torch lighter if you can get butane where you are going. You can also get the VG coil for $35 but I hear it's a bit harsh alone, but it can work well with a J-hook or a bong.

Another option is a nimbinvap, this also uses a torch lighter. It's tiny and can be modded into a bong using a beer bottle - saw it on youtube. You can get it from vapornation. The Vaporgenie can be ordered from their website - they have free shipping. I suppose you could arange to have it sent to the place you will stay as well. If you want an electronic vaporizer - they are usually about a hundred or just under a hundred - I know of the V2 series 3, the phantom, Imag, flowermate. I don't know what they would sell at the headshops - but prices at headshops are usually a lot more than you would pay online.

What about a Flowermate, I don't have one. They are around $120 through Puffitup. They have come out with a newer slimmer Flowermate Vapormax it's $89 but I don't know a lot about it. Read through the Forum.

You could get the MFLB it's around $115, it comes with a lifetime warranty. Check out last call through Puffitup maybe you can find a Solo cheap. I've been hearing a lot of good things about the Vapman its $120, you would need a butane lighter with that.

Check out the Storm from Vapefiend. I've been watching that one.

You could possibly tweak it using a mflb glass stem and silicone tubing, though. Or attach it to a mflb UFO.

NimbinVap is pretty inconvenient in the 4.0 series. Its pretty hard to use with a UFO since you really need to see where the flame is going with a torch. Native it honestly gets too hot after a couple hits that it will burn you easily. It can deliver but the body design is poor, I think the top should be all metal because the wood burns and off gasses, the bottom should be all wood because right now its too hot to touch with the metal lips on the bottom pieces.

VaporGenie is a great choice, you could ditch your body and keep the top on your way back.

Hammer isn't too inexpensive but can be brought back from your trip, you could either clean your stems or just toss them since they are so inexpensive.

I would say you would have to search those "smoke shops" if your in Orlando already and see what vaporizers they carry in stock, most around here now (Tampa area) don't carry portable herb vapes but lots of overpriced fake RooR glass from China and crap like vaporite box vapes.

If you find a real Headshop or a "lifestyle gift store"(not just one of these new cheap glass stores) most likely they will have vapor genie's and Iolites at least, but real old fashioned headshops are becoming rare and these flea market quality little shit shops are everywhere.

I am here for 10 days and just picked up 1/4

I dont want to combust so looks like I may need to buy a decent piece.

I own the da buddha, minivap (my fav) and davinci ascent. All back in the uk.


That's. The level of quality I am used too, although hardly used davinci as I didn't like it.

Any pointers on what to get, preferably one that can be charged in uk and usa.

There's no way we can know what vaporizers you can find in a 'brick and mortar' shop in a city we don't live in. I would think you need to take a few hours to check out shops in person to see what they sell and make your choice out of what you Can actually buy where you are now.


as far as the level of quality your used to, as far as I'm concerned as a inexpensive portable a vapor-genie classic is as good as those you mention for your situation at the moment.

Sorry I couldn't see a way to be more helpful, where I live there is now only one real head shop that sells quality brand name products(for 2-3 times the online cost) and it's around 30 miles from where I live. While driving there I now pass a dozen or so of these new shops that just sell cheapo wholesale crap from china.

Florida is still a cultural backwater and a bit slow to catch up to new trends like quality Herb and vape tools.

... Now if you had Just gone to Disney-land in LA instead or Disney-world in FL finding a vape would be a piece of cake.

Hey. I am in disney world florida.

I think the vapor genie ticks the boxes so looking for one.
There is a smoke shop on kissimee but it is over priced but does stock some good ones. I don't need or want to pay that sort of money though

There is also pipe planet in winter park which is really good but it is a 40 min drive and the I4 has massive traffic jams so I came off earl. Now back at the villa doing a bit of googling to find a vapor genie.

Do you think if I cleaned the vaporizer and put it in my suit case it would be ok to fly back to the uk.

Looks like I can't find a vapor genie in this area.

Oh no, looks like I am going to opt for a little pipe and combust for the first time in 15 years...agh.

Not sure I will last past one go of the pipe but will give it a go as the shop local to me has a magic flight launch for 150

And cloutank for 100

My day guys

As you may know I am in the US with the family and it is day 10 and I have been without the good stuff which I have buckets loads of it at home, sods law

Anyway I was thinking about it and started looking at potential stoners in the Disney parks

Long story short, I picked some up off the street

It smelt as soon as I opened it, small nugs and felt dence.

Anyway it ain't no loud I am used to but I am a bit of a snob.

It wasn't until I got back, my partner relieved to see me Alive, and after a few hours I could inspect it.

It was quite dry, I could crumble or break it up. Was on the dark side too and it not as shiny as mine back home.Not sticky anyway but probably because it has not been stored properly

Anyways , challenge number two

I only vaporise and not combust I have not for many years.

Now my quest to find a cheap vaporizer as I have expensive top quality ones at home I wanted a throw away one or one that didn't hurt my wallet when it wouldn't compete with the ones at home

Found out I couldn't find one that ticked the boxes and the recommended one for me would be a vapor genie $55 which allows you to use a lighter to heat the top and then thus heats the element which heats the bud which causes vapor and not combustion. So was trying to find this

Anyway the day went by as spent the night in magic Kingdom and bought a shirty little grinder and pipe combo for $20 and a Bic lighter

Oh man, the stuff was harsh as fuck but here is the dilemma

I don't know if it is a combination of things or I am to accustomed to vaporizing as I do this through glass bong which cools and smooths and you really don't realizability you are hitting it and the high is nice and clean.

Anyway that's my normal ritual

I can guess you can picture me now holding his farty little lighter and taking a pull

Oh my, harsh as. I took it like my vaporizer and boom smoke. Horrible smoke

Anyway, the bowl turned to a black mess after, can't remember if that is normal. Didn't burn white.

I couldn't smell the weed but I never at home and her indoors always does so I got her to test with her nose and she said it does

Reminded her of the older days with buckets gauzes. Which reminded me somewhat

Anyway I wonder if it is just that I am so used to vaporizing that this all seems weird.

I have been waiting for the feeling to kick in if I can continue with this for my remaining 10 days.

I would say that this is a sativa as I don't think I could be arsed typing all this out on my phone if it wasn't.

Again not sure if the feeling will be different due to sativa, I'm used to indica, combusting as his will give me a different effect to vaporizing

But my main concern is about the lack of taste and finished product

I couldn't really taste anything other than , I don't know what actually, not nice and the pipe bowl went to like a black tar, I didn't burn it to much but it was horrid.

Maybe it is the quality of weed not been flushed properly and is full of chemicals. Not sure I can deal with this. Might end up binning it combined with combusting. If I had a vaporizer I suppose I would know but again it is more expenditure for potentially nothing

I used to crudely "vaporize" bowls before I had even heard of a vaporizer by holding the flame at a distance while drawing slowly, steadily and carefully. It takes some practice, but you can get some decent vapor hits like this.

Interesting, good idea just can't think of what I would need to do this without spending money over here and then not making use if it another time.

Maybe if you was working with oil. But for flower I would save my money. I can vape oil out of a 1 dram vial with a piece of rolled up paper used as a mouthpiece. Cost me 25 cents no pain when I toss it in the trash.

The vaping from a regular bowl @Reflexion mentioned seems to work a bit better with a jet lighter. Just make sure no fingers are in the heat path, hold it off a couple inches (1 cm?) and point the heat towards the load. Not optimal, but may get you there while not having to combust quite as much. Not nearly as efficient as regular vaping either - so don't AVB what has been warmed. Smoke it later for better sleep. Or, you can apply a bit more heat and kind of vape/smoke your way through the bowl.

Don't worry about the tarry black mess in your bowl. That's typical. If you are stuck with smoking, don't burn it until it is total ash. Once it is black - even in same physical shape as started - dump that shit out. Some hot water and scraping with a toothpick (or even better a quick ISO alcohol soak) will clean up most of the gooey, chunky bits.

Was in Denver a month or two ago and had same dilemma. FWIW, even had my MFLB (& PA) and just wasn't getting me there. Thing is great for topping off, or a quick nip midday, but not really heavy enough for my daily evenings. Ended up combusting some, and splitting it with MFLB. For me, the far jet lighter trick seemed to do nearly as well to get there. Then MFLB after. Then lightly smoke what was warmed with lighter earlier. Unfortunately, only good indication of doing too much combusting wasn't until I woke the next morning and saw how my throat felt.

I think the stuff I had was grit weed.

I grinded it down and mixed it with coconut oil. Strained it through a coffee filter and the left over stuff was gritty, sandy feeling.

It was really dry and hard before, maybe because it was sprayed.

I made brownies with the oil.

Grit weed will be fairly obv with taste sight touch.

I it's leaving black ash its just not been flushed proper.

Sounds like edibles or oil are your best bet.

I've never seen what would be called "Grit weed" in the UK here in Florida(but I haven't bought on a street corner for years), just poorly grown, flushed and cured bud. Still it's always better when vaped then smoked.
