I been dabbing off rigs since
@hashmasta kut taught me how on icmag years ago! I tried pens back when they first came out..hated them...
I'm getting ready to go on a cruise in a few weeks so I needed something to go with me. After much debate I'm pulling the trigger on this omicron v4 900...getting an extra dual coil...anything else I should need? I mainly smoke live resin and dewaxed shatter.. Any tips/suggestions for someone very well versed in dabs but completely new to pens would be greatly appreciated.
Hope this thing hits good and will keep me medicated on my trip.
I'd suggest picking up one or two additional dual coils and a 1701 if you feel like mixing it up and maximizing your flavors. If you're primarily looking for effects, skip the 1701.
1: Is vaporwarehouse.com legit and backed like delta9vapes and oilvaporizer.com by Sam and W9tech? I saw sam liked some of vaporwarehouses posts on reddit so i assume so. They have the globe for 19.99 shipped (alpha globe v2 which is like the top of the omicron v4 but with only the glass (unless theres a metal top I am not aware of becuase id prefer to have both.
Most certainly, we are proud to have built a relationship with
@VaporWarehouse for more than the past 3 years as one of our authorized distributors! They have a few products from us like the Alpha Globe v2 that we haven't been able to fully stock our own shelves of yet, so please do hit them up for any UP Tech needs
2. Is there any advantage to this over getting like a 4 pack of kiss cart gen 3's dual ti coils since they can be used in TC mode too, and basically when you buy 5 from oilvaporizer its like buying 5 dual di coils for the globe anyway, excep tyou have a nice little atty (that I think who knows maybe you can even rebuild the kiss cart gen 3's.
I'd say there is an advantage to the AC coils since they cost a bit less than Kiss Cartridges, even in bulk; plus can be interchanged easily and they can be used with multiple housings, including my favorite the Nibbler AC. I don't have a way to add moisture to vapor from my Gen 3 kiss carts.
Is the airflow, and ease of loading better on the omicron v4/alpha globe v2?
Yes, airflow is less restricted on the AC V2 than a Gen 3 Kiss cart.
4. Can anyone reliably tell me that some (any) version of the hercules is at least leak proof and completely user serviceable? Its huge though its like as tall as my sigelei 150tc with crown tank on top. Cant imagine using that but looks are not everything.
All versions of the Hercules since SR-71 are completely user serviceable, and none of them are leak proof. That's entirely dependent on your willingness and ability to dial in the proper technique. If used incorrectly, Hercules will dump oil into the lower chamber. It is designed to require airflow for cooling purposes, or it will preserve your oils by allowing them to drain from the heating chamber, making a mess that you will have to clean up and reload into the upper chamber.
Would you guys recommend using a box mod like the Evic VTC Mini for the Alpha Centauri, or will the v4 work just as good for an experienced user?
The Omicron works amazing as a pocketable device. I used a box mod with gen 3 kiss carts for quite awhile and now I generally use my Omicron LD for the AC V2 in my pocket and the mod for my Hercules with Nibbler XL in my backpack.
If I had two mods would I personally use the AC on a box mod for every hit? Not personally because I carry the Omicron as a super small, pocketable device; that's what works best for me. I don't want a heavy box mod in my pocket. If you value flavor above portability and don't mind the bigger box, you may indeed wish to learn the ropes of Temp Control in order to maximize flavor. Different smokes for different folks...
I'm also curious as to which size battery of the v4 I should get. I've been very disappointed with my Minicron with the Kiss Gen2 cart. It seems very weak. I'm not sure if it's a bad atomizer, or if the battery is just not powerful enough. I would love to the 900mah version of the v4 for convenience of size, but I don't want it to limit the power and output. Would you all recommend the 1400mah?
Have you contacted
support@w9tech.com for assistance with your Minicron so we could find out if there's an issue with the heater or battery?
The Omicron's sub ohm Alpha Centauri coils pack a significant punch compared to the Kiss Cart that comes with the Minicron; plus its variable wattage battery allows you to choose how much power gets sent and should simplify getting a powerful rip, if that's what you're after.
All 3 battery sizes of Omicron have the same power output (10, 13, 16, and 19 watts) so the only difference in battery size is the physical size of the vaporizer, increased length/weight and longer life in between charges. If you're only an occasional vaporist, the 900mAh may work well for you. If you take a lot of puffs in a day you might want to consider larger battery sizes. I thought I'd need the HD but since I use Omicon occasionally (I'm a Herc diehard, can't get around it) after a week I hadn't needed to charge the battery yet and I decided to try out the lil' guy... That one's my personal favorite.
Is there an upgrade option for Minicron owners?
I am sorry but no, an Omicron is required to qualify for the
Omicron Upgrade Program.
