Can you try your 2.4 Ohm loads at higher voltage? Perhaps the cart isn't so contaminated as the oil tastes different because of the higher heat?

I will try that when my roommate gets back as he owns the only persei in the house. But here's another reason why I think it's the carts. I just tried to pre-oxidize another 1.5 cart while i have a loaded 1.5 cart I'm taking rips off of. The smell that lingers after the cart has been pre-oxidized is the same as what I taste in the loaded 1.5 cart. It is different because it is mixed with wax but u can tell its still the same taste when u have an empty cart to smell. Even draw a hit off the empty one u don't even have to press the button to taste it. Then taste the loaded one. There is definatly something wrong, Unless I magically got bad carts from thc and illusions glass Denver.

I also have noticed a bad taste on my 1.5s. I reported this last week on this post and others helpfully pointed out the oxidizing instructions. So on my second 1.5 I pre oxidized 25 - 30 times still a bad taste. 30 - 40 hits in I can still taste it. Not as bad as my first 1.5 that I did not pre oxidize. My friend who ordered carts with me is also reporting the same issue. I have never noticed this taste in my 2.4s. I have used dozens of those. I got my carts a week and a half ago if that helps anyone.

Thanks for the answer. There's a lot of information on the subject being discussed here lately but the one thing I don't think you'll find is a definitive answer. I'm one of ten guys taking part in a small part of the testing on this issue. The Man (owner of the maker) has given some guidelines and info on what he's trying but AFAIK there is no definitive answer. Another guy has pointed you to a collection of some of those thoughts, I hope it answers some of your questions?

Of course there's noting wrong with asking for help. We often get the same questions over and over as you might imagine, it takes up resources. Guys used to come up with 'the search function is a POS, I don't have time to wade through XX pages, someone do it for me'.... Well, not that last part maybe, but you often wondered. So we took the major step of uprooting the lot and moving to a new forum and format in large part to address that issue. And then put in the 'use the search first' policy. No offense meant, I was asking a curiosity question trying to get a little help (in understanding) from another Forum Member.

I'm sorry if you take my manner or question as rude, but I cannot agree with that assessment.

nice vid!
the only major diff. is the usb passthrough. means it charges on the flat end
via mini usb port instead of on the cart port. people kept screwing their chargers in
w/ oil on the pad/pin and it unthreads the charger. so for v2 omi and o-phos they
used different charging styles to eliminate replacing the other chargers over and over
again (and to be honest the old chargers are on the cheap side). it allows you to
use while charging, eliminating the need for 2 pens to a degree. some passthroughs
allow you to "boost" the volts up a little (to like 5) when plugged in, depending on the
proper wall adapter. not sure if o-phos does or not. if anyone with a voltmeter has
tested yet. i am just a hobbiest so it's not really necessary for me. i have 3 omi v1 pens
right now, and i had 2 v2's yesterday (sold one) but for newbies, i'd like to have that
option for them as well.

it does have a slightly longer profile than the omi as well IIRC.

EDIT: sorry, that link is not exactly the same, it is missing the larger center hole. Although, that search should lead you where you are headed. I'll continue looking for a similar unit. If not, I have a spare I can send you.

Besides eliminating tracking external power resources (cells) ,the '''pass_thru"' permits for

'"longer discharge recycling"' ,@ 'consistant average higher voltages' than v2 ,sim v1 w/o

charger liability limitations ~

The '"ultimate combo"' ,IMO ,will be the v2.5 (7.4v)/ pass_thru ,coupled to both flower

cart/chamber & nailcart ~

It's normal, or at least part of it is. As I recall it only gives you the 'dead battery flash' a time or two then locks out. It's been a while since it's happened to me (I tend to go on benders and top up everything in sight) so I'm not too sure what I did to 'jump start' it....pushed the battery button when it was plugged into the charger? Some bit of fiddling did the trick. Another problem could be contact. They only make contact at the very end on the center pin as you tighten (there's no 'compliance' there), crud on the surfaces could also prevent the charging.

Only the one unit I assume? That is no way to confirm the charger?

yeah its the charger.... i cleaned the area of the charger that is supposed to come in contact with the area of the battery (cleaned that to with a q tip dipped in rubbing alcohol). I filed a ticket with THC.... when will they respond??

In my experience THC has some of the BEST customer service I have ever encountered. More than likely you will hear something from them by the end of business on Monday.

i need help... i just bought my v2 yesterday, and i just finished charging the batteries, put everything together and tested out to see if my cart had a metallic taste before i committed my pure gold to it, and after pressing the button the first time, i was able to draw out a hefty cloud of smoke?/vapor? that tasted like chemicals, and then after that the cart just tastes really metallic, and it makes me nauseous... what should i do?

I was told that might just be residue/dust from the manufacturing process. I dont think its a good idea to hit it with nothing in it anyways. The taste should go away after the first few hits, it has for me.

perfectly normal. load it and use it

check for glow is very important.

If you are very concerned about the taste then pre-oxidize..

All the carts even the prewashed ones have some flavor. I find the flavor dissapates quickly is not a long term issue. Over 20 people who have never seen a omicron or persei hit mine at the conference yesterday and no one complained or weird tasting extracts.

If someone is having continuing issues with carts then contact THC and let them sort it out. Those issues are not normal and not what most us here are experiencing.
