Wtf?? Please, No more derailing! It's alright that you all like coffee, but this is a thread for people who abstain from caffeine to check in and talk.

:2c:

It is? Coulda' fooled me.

The first paragraph of your first post said:

"Hello All! I am starting this thread because I know there have to be others out there who feel as I do on this subject, and I would like to hear your reasons for not using caffeine. (or your defenses of caffeine, you addicts!)"

Ok, maybe roasting took it a bit too far but when you're buzzed on coffee, it's hard not to expand the topic if you're really into it.

Lol this thread isn't turning like what the OP expected as well as the poll results so far hehe

@KeroZen I would never expect more people to abstain from caffeine in any sample group, except maybe on a health and fitness forum. Interesting that this is so funny to you?

@farscaper I don't see how you contribute with this post.

Why hostility here on this topic?

Folks... the OP has asked to keep this thread on topic.. which isn't coffee. Please be respectful of that.

well... running off the opposition by stating you dont appreciate their opinions is a quick way to empty a thread...

I deleted my previous comment because frankly I just didnt want it too seem like I was flaming... I like to respect peoples opinions... even when I disagree...

so even though YOU think it didnt contribute... I was simply trying to be polite...

enjoy YOUR thread and please dont tag me again in here...

I love coffee, but don't drink it all the time because i don't want to get too reliant on caffeine. I do however make my own pre workout shake and use 300mg of caffeine in it, which is enough to get me pretty pumped to lift. Most people use coffee/caffeine to start their day and have trouble without it, but it seems like a lot of people who use cannabis are the same way. I'm very happy my parents never medicated me at a young age and taught me that the human brain is way more powerful then ADD or my frequent migraines, which brings me to the point that everything is bad in excess. These are both mind/body altering drugs and if you don't have a balance on your mind, body, and spirit i would say you probably shouldn't be taking any substances, even the "harmless" ones.

I love an Extra Large Quad sugar and Quad Cream from Tim Horton's to get my day going. It's like milk and cereal in a cup with a caffeine kick. But I am trying to scale it back because the Doctor and says it isn't good for me.... and i obviously know it. But my body has become so addicted to the caffeine plus the sugar intake that I feel whoosy if I don't have it. I literally feel low blood sugar and sluggish. I've scaled it back to Three milk and 2 sugar now...

I hardly ever use caffeine because it makes me so tense. This tends to make my back, shoulder and neck pain worse, as well headaches and dizziness. My physiotherapist discourages using it for this reason and also because it tends to make people more prone to physically exerting themselves without realizing it.

Hehe true, I think she was more referring to exerting yourself to the point of injury :p Agreed though, those first 15 minutes of exercise are the worst!

Yup. I'm literally gasping for breath and my body is telling my brain.........."Are you fucking kidding me??", but then, every time at about the 14 to 15 minute mark, I settle into a pace and then all is good.

On a side note, I got a chocolate bar that has 85% cacao in it. One square gives a nice little energy boost.

chillin on the couch, sippin off a 22 ounce.
Major caffeine drinker here...

Espresso though, and I prefer to make my own. I own an custom Isomac Zaffiro whose boiler temp is computer controlled. Hell I sold a mint 70s Olympia Cremina lever machine because this one got used a lot more!

Anyways enough of the tech/geek speak. Proper espresso has an effect that's almost calming it's so zen-like, with no jittery or antsy feelings whatsoever.

So why don't you ever feel that? Because it takes basically a +/- 1 degree held rock steady over the course of 30 seconds or so. That translates into uber-expensive hardware and actual skill behind the counter to replicate that constantly.

I thought it was because of the mould and mycotoxins in most coffee beans?

Used to drink a cup or 2
Almost every day. But started making me feel sick so about a year ago I stopped. Was actually easier then I expected especially considering I have to get up at 5 am just about every day.
