I was thinking about that herb nail. Couldn't someone just blow a bowl like that with a 14/18mm top to put any enail on top and have an instant herb nail?

I mean all it is is a flower bowl with an 18mm top and a ti screen on the bottom lol.

Anyone know where I could buy a glass bowl like that? Doesn't everyone with an enail have everything else they need to diy this in 30 seconds?

Fc has had glass pieces made. Why not have a clone of this made. I for one am not buying a whole new $500 enail just to get a glass bowl lol.



Edit: cant I just use a 18mm to 14mm reducer with a screen on the bottom, and an enail on top? If not what am I missing. If that's all it is I could grab a nail at the shop today. I don't dab off ti anymore so I don't have a nail to test it with. I'd be bummed if I buy a ti nail and it was a waste.

That might work but I kinda think the herb e-nail has some kind of special air-path machined into it to let air get hot enough in a super short distance. I could be wrong though.

Well I've Got a firefly screen embedded in that adapter I just posted a pic of. Looking at their adapter and then mine the only thing missing is the nail on top and the cool handle. My screen is lower in the bowl so I'll prob need more heat.

My friend has a male 18mm nail but its not an enail. When he gets home I'll throw bud in this and heat it up. The way I'm picturing it the nail will be nice and hot and each inhale will draw hot air over the herbs for some straight convection.

Seems like a reducer with bud in it and a nail on top to me. Made that in spare parts. I'd test right now if I had a nail that fit.

I think its just a cool dual purpose bowl for my enail. If I can make it with all spare parts why not?

Also I'll still prefer my underdog I'm sure, but is there really such a thing as too many options? I'm curious what it would be like to vape flower while having a dab on top.

Yeah, me too. I do see the appeal of convenience, however I know that vaped plant matter makes the water in my bubbler taste so much worse, and smell much worse, than if I just dab through it. For that reason alone I do not wish to combine the two simply for convenience.

Plus, I, like most here, already own too many herbal vaporizers as it is. :lol:

New-Vape has shipped my replacement dropdown with the new design. They've made the reclaim bucket bigger and added wrench slots to the bucket and down tube so you can at least get a grip to cut through the resin and unscrew. I have a feeling it will still get stuck just due to the nature of the product (Sublimator had the same flaw and a huge bitch to clean) but it's nice to see the effort and if it works, awesome!

I'll post pics and report back when it comes in, probably 2 weeks if it was like the first package.

Herb nail worked on my friends rig. His nail cracked my makeshift adapter, but it worked.

The question is do I buy a ti enail just for this. I might. We got some big convection hits. The nail is shit so it tasted like the nail. Masked the buds flavor. Total success just need it to not break. The enail should help with that too.

EDIT: Not sure how, but the inside and outside of the adapter are smooth. Its like it cracked in some middle layer.


Anyone know why some nails seem to transfer more heat to the glass than others? My friend had a bong joint get ruined by this same nail. Anyone know someone who can make a simple reducer like that but out of quartz? Or the same thing with 18mm male end as well? It RIPPED before the glass made some scary noises haha.

My night went from sad to glad just now :tup:

Today started off by blasting 36g of Dreamtonite nug and ending up with ripped coffee filters and a whole lot of bud everywhere. Never going to just use 2 coffee filters again (been using just 2 for a couple years with no problems until tonight). Nothing was really salvageable. I shall be using 4 coffee filters and a SS screen from now on :D

But tonight just made my day so much better. After seeing @DieHard post of the dry herb e-nail I wanted to give it a shot. And boy did it work :rockon:

Conclusions:
I think using a female nail might distribute the heat more evenly. I also might be able to turn the temp down some. Time to play with it some more!

EDIT:

I tried using a male adapter and a female e-nail. I think this is going to vaporize more evenly. It's similar to how the solo or e-nano work.

I dropped the temp down to 650F since the adapter is fairly narrow. It worked well. Got maybe a little too hot. Might be able to lower it some still with this setup.

The best part about this setup compared to the male enail is that I get to watch the herb vaporize right in front of my face. I see it turn from green to brown right before my eyes. Kind of neat haha. The tube of the male adapter is right in front of my face and the herb is stacked more vertically compared to spread out horizontally in the other adapter so it's easier to see it vaporize.

Give it a shot if you have the equipment and time ;)

If the bottom piece that held the herb was stainless instead of glass then the entire thing would stay at optimum temp for vaporizing flowers. I reminds me of my Sublimator, which I love.

I was also successfully able to vape through an adapter setup with my Happy Daddy nail. It worked GREAT, like to the point its really got the wheels turning in a way I could improve on this setup. I had an old adapter from my Magik Wand and that thing had an 18mm male end on it so I flipped the HDP nail around so it was in male configuration and it settled about half an inch above the herb. At 740 degrees, it vaped like a champ. You could watch the green go out of the herb as you hit it.

I seriously have no need for a desktop vape anymore.

Id like to get an adapter to hold the herb that has something in the incoming air path to create some turbulence in the bowl. Ive PM'd @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd about an adapter.. Im sure he'll have some great ideas.

I can't wait to see how the adapter turns out! Looks like I will be needing one as well :)

I'm going to try using an ELB that @Cannabis Connoisseur graciously donated for the sake of science :science: since I'm a lame ass and dont own an EVO yet lol.

I think filling the ELB with herb and putting it in an 18mm joint and then throwing a female titanium e-nail over it should give a nice even heating. I hope :tup:

I dont see why that wont work great, especially if your nail is 18/14. It will move the heat outlet away from the herb.

I really think there is something here if the right person picks it up. Im sure there is a better design that would work really well for this. I wish I knew more about how the subliminator works. With the heat capacity we have with nails, you may be able to accomplish the same thing.

I have one and it works great. I have the 14mm female version for the 20mm coil. I would recommend CFAB, the quartz is nice and thick.

Any pooling if you use regular heater? I saw posts of heaters made for bangers, but don't want to purchase for just the banger.
