Since I don't go inhaling fumes off of industrial heating elements, how do I compare?
That would just be a kick, if it turns out torches are safer...

From the Errlectric website:even if america makes their own heater coils itll still be the same material since it should be the best heat conductor/good heat transfer. And it might run over 100$+ just for the coil.

From the Errlectric website:

And it's $199 with the nail included.
Good pointI was looking this over earlier. It doesn't actually say ANYWHERE that the coils are made in USA. the boxes, yes, the nails, yes, but not the coils.
oh yeah good point. and in toasters and hairdryers!
on another note my wife sprays this crap on her head which imo is worse than a lifetime of dabbing with a torch.

Ingredients: "Butane, Isobutane. Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Propane, Alcohol Denat, Parfum (fragrance), Coumarin, Eugenol, Limonene, Butylphenyl, Methylpropional, Linalool, Distearyldimonium Chloride"
i told her she could make some mean cherry flavored bho with it! lmfao
Haha I actually busted out laughing at this. I think you might definitely be right about that. AND she smokes my concentrates to boot lolthen your wife might spend more on beauty products then you spending on herbs/concentrates/vaporizers.
Only get it if you're curious and don't care about the money. Cheap nail is fixed and page itself claims it only hits 500F. Domeless.com is a better value at that price point, he drops it to $100 for sales on his Instagram. Or for a bit more you can get a cheap box and heater coil.
My New-Vape 16-hole 16mm e-nail, 14/10mm female base, dropdown and carb cap arrived Friday and I've started testing. Here's a some initial thoughts:
After using it heavily for the first 12 hours of owning it, I got no reclaim in the catcher and what appeared to be hardened reclaim pooled up against it in the down tube. Not good. The catcher has some small holes for use in their upcoming vape pen I'm guessing so you need to screw it in most of the way to keep them covered. When you do, it blocks any reclaim in the down tube from reaching the catcher. I tried lining up one of the holes with the tube so I'll see if that helps but I'm guessing it will block easily. This can be fixed by redesigning just the catcher but I wonder if the proximity to the coil and it being made from stainless steel will cause any reclaim in the catcher to harden and be rendered useless. I'll check again in a day or two and then contact the company. Seems like it could be a design flaw. I don't really care for reclaim much so for me it's not really an issue for me.
- Parts still had machine oil smell/taste, had to clean in ISO first which helped but isn't perfect. IMO, ultrasonic cleaning should be standard in the industry but for some reason SCS doesn't even do it for their nails and they do it for their grinders.
- After awhile the base does get too warm to pick it up off the joint without protection but not hot enough to cause concern on the joint. The coil is on tight so I'm able to lift it off using heater bar.
- Nail head can swing right or left but I don't see a situation where this would be useful.
- Once tightened, everything stays in place as long as you're careful (no sudden movements). Feels more secure than my glass dropdown and I felt better about using it at a friend's place. Everything stays together in one piece and I put the whole thing in my inverted silicone oven mitt when it's cooled down for transport.
- My SCS Carb cap fits fine and allows more airflow in than the NV one. Not sure which I prefer yet. The SCS one offers the option of screwing the dabber/air intake down to the rim level to direct airflow more towards the centre.
- Lots of airflow but you need to make sure you pull just fast enough or the vapor will achieve escape velocity and escape into the room.
- During the hit you can see the vapor sloshing around in a ball in the middle of the nail which is cool.
- For 14mm male joints, the 14/10mm female base only covers the top half of the joint which means it can come off a bit easier. This can be both good and bad depending on how you view it. Get the 18/14mm female base if you want a more secure fit.
- I like that I can either dab it in the middle for a slow carbed hit or swirl it around the bowl to vape it quickly.
Despite some minor complaints I really like setup overall and it will probably be my main e-nail for the near future. The bowl is deep enough that the bottom is surrounded by the heater and that's the only place it can pool. I've mainly been dabbing at 840F (vs 900F with the OmniNail) but I have a feeling it would do a lot better with low temp dabs. The design is a bit like a titanium VXN if you think about it.
I'll try to get pics of it on my pieces soon as a size comparison, it's really not that big since it's a short dropdown. Due to the added weight it is not stable on the GB-242 or Barrel to Funnel recycler but it's fine on both the FC-710 and D-Cycler.
@BoogerMan You never got around to your review, what are your thoughts after a few weeks of use? Apparently the 20mm is much deeper than the 16mm that I have, while your Gimido coil looks short on yours, mine makes it so that the screw on the head doesn't go all the way in so it's super snug. I can measure it later but I think the coil is the same height as yours. Also any word from New-Vape if their rep got approved yet? I'm looking forward to seeing them here.
Thanks for the awesome and thorough review @Monsoon! Sorry Ive been slacking and haven't said much after my initial post.
I haven't heard back from New-Vape after I emailed them the FC page that discusses how to become a rep. I'm sort of surprised I didn't hear back because we were having a really good back and forth email conversation (probably 10-15 emails were exchanged back and forth) and they seemed very interested. Maybe they got busy and just forgot or maybe they didn't get my last email?
Sorry to hear that the drop down isn't that great as a claim catcher. That's why I wish they would join FC so we could just communicate this stuff to them directly on a thread. Let us know what they say if you send them and email about it. I may also email them again and see if they got my email with the link to the FC rep page (maybe the emailed never got delivered?)
I agree with a lot of what you stated about the nail. Yeah I have the 20mm so it is a bit deeper of a dish which is nice for my friends that like taking larger globs since absolutely no liquified oil gets sucked through the holes like on some other nails they use.
Like you said I think it is great that you can dab around the bowl for a faster vaporization or dab at the bottom where it pools up a bit more and makes the hit vaporize slower. If I dab at the bottom I usually get one nice big hit followed by a couple smaller hits especially if I leave the cap on there the whole time. It's especially fun to drop a ball in there and just cap it then start hitting it because it seems like the hits last forever
But I only run mine at 700-725F so I'm sure if I cranked it up to 840 like you have that would definitely eliminate those extra smaller hits that are followed by the initial big one.
I highly recommend this nail because the airflow is absolutely amazing and I love how you can dab two different ways on it. It's definitely a winner in my book. It's great for both tiny dabs and globs!
