New to Vaporizers and need some advice

So I’m a relatively new user (vape cart, flower, edibles, etc). Backstory is that I’m 45, married, 4 kids (3 know about my usage and 1 partakes with the wife and I). Am a 90% disabled vet. Most of my disability comes from PTSD. My wife said that when I’m medicated, I’m the “pre-PTSD” man she married 25 yrs ago. That right there was enough for me to know that I’m going to continue to medicate.

That brings me to this question/topic...

I do not mind rolling or smoking through my glass piece, but I find myself gravitating to my vape carts much more frequently. I recently got my hands on some high quality (or at least what I consider HQ - remember, I’m a newbie) ChemDawg and it’s been the best so far. I’m looking at a different way to medicate besides smoking. I have been looking at this site as well as a few others and have come to the conclusion that I want a vaporizer for dry herb.

Considerations...

• Will most likely be used by the wife, one daughter and myself. May take to the neighbors occasionally.

• My 12 yr old does not know we use, and I’d like to keep it that way. Stealth is somewhat of a concern and takes something like the volcano or silver surfer out of the equation.

• Price isn’t a concern - ish. I can spend what I need to within reason ($1000 is out). $350-$500 would be the top end of my budget unless there is something I should look at that exceeds that budget...

• Need something that is readily available vs waiting for a yeah for something like a HI or iHeat.

• I’m a woodworker by hobby, so the UD and eNano appeal to me aesthetically

• Will probably use a couple times a week

I think I’ve narrowed down my decision to an underdog or an eNano, but if there’s something that fits my requests better, I’m all ears. With the UD, I’m torn on which stems to buy as it’s all new to me and frankly, I’ve almost drown by drinking from this firehose...

You can't go wrong with the UD or the E-Nano. Regarding stems, if you are just going to be using it as a direct draw setup, I'd recommend the standard nylon stem (although I prefer to use the NonG for vaporbong hits myself).

Don’t eliminate the heat island. If you contact Alan, he often has some available without a wait.. It is a great log. You might look at the wood scent also. Ed is a woodworker as is Alan and he makes some very nice logs as well. The wood sent is different from the others because you end up with a vapcap as well.

You can’t go wrong with the log vapes. I down own them. Never tried one. But people love em.

Are portable units out of the conservation? Maybe an arizer air or solo?

Solos are popular and I hear they’re good, but I believe they have significant draw restriction so if that matters to you you might want check it. Otherwise they should get the job done!

Since you’re into woodworking though, whether or not you ever buy one you should also check out the Woodscents log and especially the Nomad (which does have a long waiting list). Dan gives a lot of info here and on his Instagram account about how he builds the best looking vaporizers in the world. :)

Not to take anything away from Ed, Alan or the other log makers who put out fantastic stuff too, but the level of detail and many kinds of artistry that Dan puts into each Nomad is I think unmatched.

I agree about the nomad which I love. But Alan will customize his log and iheat and they are also amazing. I wish I was good at posting pictures- my iheat is a unique shape and made with tulip wood. It depends on whether you want one with a mod in which case the iheat is something to think about in the future or one that mainly uses a battery.
I really hope you like the solo. I had the original solo and couldn't handle the draw restriction but I think they fixed that in solo 2. I started with arizers and have since gotten rid of those and most of my early vapes. I mainly buy vapes now by small individual creators like RBT, Funky Junky, Alan and Dan.

The Solo II draw resistance was too tight for me to get the big hits I prefer but it's very straightforward to use and easy to maintain by just soaking the stems in a ziplok of iso alcohol when they need cleaning.

You might try one of the cooling stems so you can vape at higher temps without the vapor getting too harsh:

I don't recommend the little bubbler stems you put water in because the design makes it hard to clean them or get all the water out between uses.

Arizer was a solid choice, easy, technique free vaping. I have a lot of vapes and still enjoy my OG Solo and the Air is one of my travelers.
Don't let the talk of draw resistance worry you, I pack my stem with fine ground and finger tamp it to stay put and have sucked down countless stems.
You three will enjoy it.

Brilliant choice getting a Solo plus a free Air to boot :tup:

When drawing remember to let the glass get nice and hot and then when you draw slowly pull on it so the air can pass over the weed consistently, at a good temp, pulling hard on this type of vape won't get you as much out of it.

I've not owned one but you can't go wrong with one :uhoh::whoa: :lol:

Well as someone who has owned and used logs you most definitely can go wrong with them :brow:
