I understood what are you saying, but some people produce cannabis vaporizer box mod with personalized firmware esclusively for weed, a simple box mode doesn't have all the option like session, temp control etc. Not really sure about this tbh, like i said, i'm a noob with boxmod)
How is the wattage works?
Usually with a vape i like to step up with temps to extract every bit of substance and to squeeze the most number of hits.
Like a couple of hits at 165, a couple at 175, a couple at 185 etc.
It doesn't seems that simple and precise with wattage...
Listen to
@flammy my friend! Each time someone recommends it you make a different excuse based on something you researched or something your brother told you.
Most recently you've suggested that a Splinter Z or other 510 device is not for you unless it comes with dry herb specific firmware. That's just an assumption and it's based on no real experience.
I probably mentioned on the first page of this thread that the Wismec rx gen3 dual is a great box mod (mod, not mode) for the Splinter or Splinter Z.
@flammy makes a great point that a Z and a three battery mod will give you improved battery life and carrying extra batteries helps even more. Buy a Wismec RX Gen3 if the third battery is more important than the smaller size. They also make one that can switch between two and three batteries with a different back plate.
Your objections aren't based on experience and your reservations are often based on misunderstandings.
Here's what buying a Splinter Z and a Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 Dual or 2/3 will look like:
* You'll put batteries in the mod, screw on the Splinter Z, set wattage to anywhere between 30 and 40W and just hold the fire button down when you draw. That's it! Everyone who owns a Splinter still uses it in wattage mode part of the time and there is no firmware or setting hassle involved (pretty sure I've explained that already).
* For temp stepping just do the same thing you do already but with wattage: start at 31W for the first two to four hits and then bump up to anything higher depending on how rapidly you want to finish. Stepping in wattage is just as simple as upping the number and you'll know from the cloud production and abv browning how it's going.
* Get a plastic tube or a plastic carrying case to protect your glass stem for the trip if that's easier than buying a wooden stem to start with. I've shared a link for the plastic tube I use already too I think.
* Later, after your trip, you can find easy instructions for installing Arctic Fox or sur_myevic and you can ask on the Splinter Z thread where I guarantee it'll take you less time and effort to update your mod than it did to do all this shopping deliberation. Just make sure buy one of the mods the other users on FC recommend so you have the fun firmware options when you get home. Not because they're necessary or make the Splinter Z finally work the way it's supposed to, but just because the menus and modes are handy to add some versatility to an already excellent experience.
