I should have gone into a little more detail with that post. Shorter washes, higher percententage iso, less agitation, frozen weed, frozen alcohol, frozen jars, and other things that I can't remember right now all help keep the oil more amber. My last wash was over a minute with frozen everything and it was still very golden, but then I redisolved it, overpurged it and ruined it. Do you heat evap or air evap Hyde?
I find that the colder I keep things the better it turns out, like many people suggested. I freeze my buds in a glass jar and add the frozen alcohol. I'm still relatively new to this and I have a very limited space and time to perform my washes too. I'm doing 5, 20-30 second washes and combining washes 1-3 in one dish and 4 and 5 in another. Some people will say that this is too long, but the latter washes are decent and I like to get a little more product. Like a previous poster mentioned they do 1-2 minute washes and still get a nice oil. Whenever I do 10-15 washes I end up with shatter which I hate to handle.
Can anyone with experience comment on multiple short washes vs one long wash? The weed is still saturated between washes, so does draining and adding ISO for more washes just dilute what would be absorbed by the first wash giving me more to evaporate but a similar final product?
