New glassware - Dumb question: How high should water go?

I just bought this new piece and, while I feel stupid for asking, I'm not sure how high to fill the water.

Any help? Should it go up past the second inlet hole (into the main chamber) or should I leave it lower than that? I feel as though if I leave it lower, then the vapor isn't forced through the water? I don't know. Sorry for the dumb question! =D

There is no right level,suck as hard as you normally would emptying the chamber.
If water hits your lips/mouth empty it a bit more

I find it easiest to get a video camera and take some video of you hitting it to see how much of the perc fire's with given water levels. Keep in mind that when you draw, some of the water in the stemless will be forced by your lung pressure into the main tube, raising the water level. So for some pieces, just covering, or even just beneath the perch may be ideal. Your milage will vary, so experiment!

Wait, so it doesn't really matter *where*?

My 'concern' is that filling it to the red would cause the water to leak out.
Filling it to the blue means that the water won't pass through the perc.
Green seems right, but... super precise?

Also, I should point out that I'm new to the bubbler scene, so maybe I have some basic misunderstanding of wtf I should even be doing. =)

I don't think that top inlet hole is an inlet hole. It is solid and there for support. The blue line you drew in the pic should be the sweet spot.

I think it does matter in a lot of cases, especially with vaporizers.
If you're trying to use a vaporizer with a lower temperature setting or a small load size, then too much water can over-diffuse the vapor. I would try to go as low as you can with the perc firing normally. Use a mirror or camera to see the action better.

If you're getting irritation & lots of coughing at that minimal water level, only then would I slightly increase the water level. Never, ever as high as the frosted ground glass joint.

Awesome, thanks for the advice! I'll do some camera shooting to figure it out (I am using smaller loads on low temps).

It will probably fire best with the water somewhere right around the disc level. I actually has a honeycomb that fired best with the water just below the disc. With the stemless design, the water in the stem gets displaced into the can slightly raising it. Also with a honeycomb, overfilling can have a negative effect on the diffusion. My GBD honeycomb is horrible when over filled but can really stack when it's at the perfect level.

@Caligula since their "new" to the bubbler scene, tell Bug about why your water is a reddish color? Bug may wonder why their bubbles dont stack as tall or about the color itself. I would inform them but im not too knowledgable about those extracts myself.

@Caligula Thanks for the demo, and the link to the extract thread. That E-Nano looks amazing. I love my Vapor Bros so far, but will eventually want to get a new piece.
