New bubbler needed for my Grasshopper

Same here, but the mod isn't a complex design. It's exactly your piece with an extra detachable perc. What is complex about this?

I'd admit the FTK is a "complex" looking design, but it's really not a complex concept.

What you were told with when dealing with is ideal for preserving flavor of the buds. If you were looking for smooth hits, then you needed a different piece. I'd suggest looking through the cheap bubbler thread, people use a variety of pieces.

I personally see no reason to save a couple dollars getting the piece you got, and opted for one with detachable mouth pieces and ability to be used as a perc. Modability is worth $10-15 dollars. TAke a look through the thread. @ataxian in this case made realize how valuable it is to have pieces that you can easily get the right amount of diffusion with.

Really, if you didn't want a lot of diffusion, you wouldn't get an FC 187 or a D020 in the first place. You would get something EXTREMELY simple with a basic slit to produce as little diffusion as possible and would use the water to cool it down only. That would be the "ideal" way to preserve your vapor flavor

Something like this style dropdown into the water. See how basic it is?

So minimal bubbles are produced but it's run through water which will cool the vapor down. I have a multi chamber bubbler like this which does great with flavor.

To cool it down more though when using the highest temps on your vape, if your lungs are sensitive, you'll want more diffusion and more water to cool....

You should buy based on what you want, not based on the general way to preserve vapor flavor. Hence the pieces that are modular being my main recommendation.

It's not a large amount of money though, and as you accumulate more pieces, you'll get a real life understanding of what you actually need and what's fun to use.

Really though, the issue is people need to figure out what the users needs are and steer them into a direction that is most likely to target those needs (Which is why I like the FC-Mod and the FC whatever I have that's also similar to that). Because it's got the highest probability of successfully enabling to achieve their goals across a wider range of vaping experiences than a more basic piece for a minimal amount extra $USD.

Good example of how having those pieces can help in instances where you want more filtration.
I LOVE water a lot!
Diffusion = MAX for smoking JOINTS
Less = VAPORIZING

Small can and bubbler = Portables
Medium can = Log's
Large can = Desk-top

Whatever floats your RAFT!
SORRY for being so MEDICATED!
MOD'S have drip tips that fit most 14mm joints.
REDUCER bushings are your friend. 18mm - 14mm = CIVILIZED
