New arizer air or new arizer solo?

Hi guys,

I've got a couple of questions which I could do with some help answering.

I'm looking to get my girlfriend a vape as she's recently been diagnosed with MS and I don't want her smoking anymore. I already have a mighty from S&B and we both think it's great.

It's come down to the arizer air or the arizer solo. I know both have updated models and I've heard a lot of the draw restrictions of the solo have been fixed.

I prefer the arizer air however, but is it worth it just for the portability and style? Or is the air actually worse?

Or should I consider something else? I've heard good things about the haze but I personally am not sold on the modern art look and the hidden stem and the two bowl system. It all feels a little gimmicky in my opinion.

Please help me decide, thanks

I don't really know much about either arizers but for the Haze, it may seem all gimmicky at first but it's really all just about convenience kind of. Always having your stem with you and being able to have more than one load ready to go so you can prep before hand and not have to worry about emptying and reloading on the go or even at home throughout the day

It still isn't sounding like something that would impress me. The arizer models just look more professional and you can pre pack stems and either carry them in zoot (joint) tubes or just put a cap on the end of the stem, so the pre packing point isn't an advantage over them either.

Which one has better vapour quality? Which one is nicest to use? How does using each one in a 2+ person situation compare to the other devices?

Solo for 2 plus
I say Solo on because no batteries to mess with.
You need 2 air batteries to match the stock Solo
Also some Airs have had over heating issues( I never had any)
I always left the top slit of the Air uncovered while using the skin

Never heard of Solo over heating
And you can use the Air stems in the Solo
I always used Solo bent stem in the Air

Now if stealth or size is an issue as far as handling the vaporizer,Air
just get an extra battery.
My opinion

I've used many solos and a couple airs and I would still get a solo.
The air is stealthier, but also made me realize the solo is just as stealthy as I need anything to be.
in fact, just bought another new solo.

pick air over solo though if draw restriction is a concern!!

I have both and I would go with the air. It's small, easy to carry and I like that I always have a battery ready. You can also just charge the Air directly. I love the solo but if I the battery runs out it takes a while to recharge it. If you order from puff it up, you'll pay much less for the air.

I have both. I have a total of 3 Solos one is the older model that you can't use and charge. I bought my Air last Black Friday. I love both but find I use the Solo more. It could be just personal preference but I think the flavor is better with the Solo vs the Air. I know some will differ - just my opinion.

It depends on how much stealth you need?

So you're saying that the solo has a noticeably more restricted draw than the air? Are you comparing the new 2015 updated solo to the air or the old one? I heard the new solo has a better air flow and easier draw?

I think that's one of the main reasons why I like the air so much, being able to charge up multiple batteries and take them with me means that you could take the air camping and not have to worry about a place to charge!

I have no draw restriction when I compare my Solo to my Air. The draw is pretty much the same. The older model Solo pre 2014 had the draw restriction. The newer model Solos are great far as the draw is concerned.

It really depends on what your individual needs are.

These are the vaporizers I use the most in order - Enano (home) Solo (home and on the go) Air (on the go)
Ascent ( home and on the go) and the Indica (on the go). My Black Friday purchase this year will be the Haze.

EDIT
There is a difference between my Ascent and the Solo far as draw goes. The Ascent has a very open air draw. My Ascent is older so the newer models might be different. I need to use my GonG with my Ascent to cut down on the airy draw feel. I don't like a tight draw but I like to have a slight resistance, but only slight. The older model Solo had too much of a restricted draw for my liking.

The Grasshopper won't be ready to order and get it for a while. You would be put on a waiting list that could last months maybe 6 months? We don't really know how long I'm guessing. There's a lot of unknowns with the GH.

I have a new Solo, and yes there is a little resistance (compared to my DaVinci Ascent) with the stock stems, but this is easily remedied with the custom stems from Easy Flow and alike.

The Easy Flow long stem is currently my favourite, dunno what the PVHES / Turbo stems are like but @ataxian swears by them!

Like @CarolKing, my next purchase is probably going to be the Haze, unless Grasshopper sort their lives out in the meantime.

I use a SOLO all day long everyday!

My SOLO is old however the PHVES stem or GonG'S work very well for me.
I also use a VORTEX stem and love it.

Some like to collect VAPORIZERS and that's their deal.

I have some plug-ins that I use at night.

During the day I read a lot so the SOLO is perfect for my needs.
Some like to be wiped out during the day which is cool if that's your thing?

CANNABIS is what's it's about anyway!

@ataxian Do you prefer the standard or the 'Shorty' Vortex? Does the 'Shorty' simply reduce the amount of herb used in a session, or is there more to it than that?

I don't have a SHORTY however I do have a vaporizer that I load whole cola nuggets that I like when I'm in the flavor chasing mode!

The effect and flavor are just right for me during the day,
At night I get knocked out with something else.

I like the self induced coma for sleeping!

Both me and my girlfriend are students and would prefer to have the option of achieving both a light high for daytime vaping and a heavy high for when we want to settle down for bed. Is it easy to achieve both with the solo and air or is one better at achieving both? From what you've said it sounds like you're suggesting the solo is more aimed towards a lighter 'daytime' high? Is it also capable of knocking you out if desired?

Is this also another suggestion that the solo is only good for 'daytime' vaping and lacks the performance to get you REALLY high?

No problem  with the Solo, check out this thread : http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/is-k-o-inevitable.19689/

It gets you where ever you want to go, based on the temp settings you use, the quality of the herb used, the length of the session, the number of sessions, the amount of herb put in stem during each session.

If I want a quick hit before work without being hammered, I can put a 0.1 pinch in, dial 2 on the temp, take a couple of hits till the flavour has gone. Now I just have the starting of the vapour where the flavs / terps and thc is at. (the rest of the session is simply enjoyed upon my return home from a hard days work)

OR when at home wanting to get ripped, I load the stem (not too much though) 0.3 , start on 2, then go to 3, then 4, then finish till no more clouds on 5. Repeat 2 times, then buckle your seatbelt kid coz Kansa gone bye-bye!:leaf::zzz::leaf::zzz:

I study all day everyday which is my hobby!
The SOLO I use on level 4 during the day with a PHVES.

At night you could use 6?

I use a plug in at night.
EXTREME Q before bed.
NANO when the sun goes down.
VAP2 to chase flavor.
Lotus for a joint like feel.
I have a bunch of others I never use both portable and plug-in's!

I like the SOLO for all around vaporizing. (so cheap)

Do what works for you guy's!

CANNABIS makes you smarter!

The solo is a heavy hitter if you get a PVHES gong and use the solo on 7. Pre heating the glass is a good idea too. Huge clouds. Two bowls like that knocks me out for bed no worries.

I got my solo in 2014 and dont experience much draw resistance. I also only tamp my load very lightly and always use clean screens to aid in airflow.

I haven't used an air so I can't make any comparisons there but if you're not taking it out of the house much just go with a solo and spend the saved money on an after market stem or gong.

A taste of the clouds a solo can make.

I was about to order an air but this is making me reconsider. I have 18650s so I was glad to hear I would have a use for them and I like the portability of the air.
But are you all saying that performance wise the Solo is the winner all-around? I don't take huge rips but just kind of bump until I get where I want - not sure if that enters into the equation.
Is the consensus to order the solo if portability is not critical?

@CalyxSmokr i think it comes down to personal preference. I have used my D020 bubbler with my Arizer Air and it performs awesome. I don't have any videos but I've posted pics of the AA and my bubbler also the Pinnacle Pro WT. I prefer the Solo but you might prefer the Air. A tough decision buying a vaporizer.

The D020 bubbler with my AA. It works and looks great hooked up to the bubbler. That's my WonG from @Ed's TnT It's the black wood with the turquoise inlay. Time to clean the glass, sorry for the dirty pic.

I prefer the Air because I was looking for something more portable which the Air definitely is compared to the Solo. I had a solo and it almost never left the house do to its bulk and slight awkwardness, but the Air goes with me nearly everyday, a single battery is good for me for the day. I already have an E-Nano I use at home most times so I choose the Air. If you will be using it mostly at home go for the Solo, or for a plug-in vape.
