I have family in Vegas so it looks like I have a place to get happy BUT .....

I typically get a room rather than stay with family so there will also be a bathroom vent, shower warm enough to create a humid environment and a Sploofy (Or most likely a toilet paper or paper towel cardboard roller stuffed with scented paper towel or scented toilet paper to breath into) involved in my vaping. Sometimes I take a few dryer sheets to shove into a cardboard roller and create a Sploofy type device that way. This all feels a little extreme. I probably would just do the Sploofy/cardboard roller approach alone.

I'm thinking of visiting my family and making my usual deposit at the blackjack tables in September. So.....how's the availability of flowers and prices going right now?

Another thought.....aren't there vape manufacturer conventions in Vegas (Champs) where folks are testing the latest vapes? How are they working it?

I know the saying is "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" but I could use some info. Seriously considering heading to Vegas sometime in September and was hoping I could get some advice from the Vegas contingent of FC.

How about some suggestions like:
- Favorite dispensary and why? Any you would recommend near the strip?
- How's the flower out there? Prices and availability trends?
- It sounds like walking around the strip with a flower vape may not be a good idea. What about walking the strip with a e-cig vape pen? Are the dispensaries selling pre-filled vape pens? Worth it?

-- For walking the strip I'll pick up a cartidge and use it with my standard cheapy CE4 510 e-cig/vape pen. I've never picked up a pre-filled cartridge before but it looks like you don't buy the vape pen just the cartridge. I think I can walk the strip with a e-cig looking vape pen as long as I don't subject the people around me to it.

For what its worth, we just had our (reno/tahoe) biggest single tourist event of the year, hot august nights and they released the arrest reports and 2/3rds of the total arrests were "public mj consumption"........i wasn't surprised they got so many people but I'm EXTREMELY surprised the ratio of total arrests just for that considering the types of crowds that event draws.

I don't know if it is my plain stupidity as I'm not usually a big risk taker, but I vape everywhere. With any small, portable handheld it seems incredibly natural to palm a hit and lower the device is a natural motion. After holding said hit for a bit, I'll exhale a 1/3, re-inhale fresh air, exhale 1/2, inhale again, and flush. Luckily (in this instance), I am not physically attractive, so I garner no attention at all. No eyes linger on me. I swear, I can walk into a room with 4 people in it, and no one sees me.

I suspect the Reno/Tahoe event got SMOKERS, not vaporists..... but I am biased.

I hear ya @macbill! I've been practicing "the confident walk" since I turned to vaporizing. Seems like as long as you don't look suspicious nobody becomes suspicious. I'm going to be around family in Vegas so I'm going a little further stealth wise with the e-cig so I can do me without doing them wrong. Just concerned that legalizing rec might cause the law to be more nosy. Kind of like what @ensabbahnur was pointing to.

EDIT: One thing I definitely noticed when looking at the reviews for hotels.....there seem to be more mention of people complaining about non-smoking hotels where the hallways are reeking of 'smoked' cannabis. Someday I hope to see them including a vape station next to the in room coffee maker.

Nevada could be first state to set up marijuana lounges

Nevada could become the first state to allow users of recreational marijuana to light up in clubs and lounges, a state legal body said this week, opening a new front in what is already a booming pot business.

Nevada really needs lounges for the vacationing visitors because the hotels I'm not sure allow cannabis use. We don't let that deter us with our vaporizers. I've vaped many a night in a hotel without any problems.

WA state doesn't allow using cannabis in public. Most hotels don't allow it either. Folks can get banquet license to use cannabis but probably need to be careful where they have their party because of smell if folks were smoking their weed.

I'm hoping eventually we will have laws that allow cannabis use in some public venues as long as they vaporize. I understand the smoke issue.

@CarolKing I'm reminded of the episode in Portlandia where they were vape hot-boxing in the " vape the day" store and you could not see from all the vapor LOL... looked like smoke, but was vapor... the clouds from those e-cigs are extreme

Got back from Vegas just in time for the hurricane.

Vegas: Got off the plane in Vegas and headed directly to the biggest dispensary in Vegas. Reef Dispensary - 3400 Western Ave. Right off the strip. Uber driver mentioned that the location is a popular one and that she picks up and drops off visitors there all day long. Great experience. With the exception of security, everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable, obviously enjoying their work and work product. They even had a no questions asked "exchange" of anything sold within 48 hours. Saw someone exchange an 1/8th of Girl Scout Cookies for an e-cig and cartridge.

Plenty of everything available. There was all kinds of flower but I decided to try the things I have never tried before. Got a e-cig battery and a Gorilla Glue cartridge for around $45. The e-cig battery was $10 and paired nicely with the cartridge as they both came from the same manufacturer. The battery was on demand which means you inhale and it turns on. Cute little device. Bud-tender said I'd get about 100 draws and would need only two draws for a nice buzz. Spot on advice. Also picked up a chocolate candy edible. And as @C No Ego mentioned...those e-cigs and cartridges put out plumes of milky smooth vapor. I wouldn't make a habit of them though. Way too intense for day to day use for me. Could feel my tolerance building with each draw. Instant punch to the face. Even though the e-cig was at least 30% more powerful than flowers I still prefer the "natural" effect of flowers.

I walked the strip puffing away and nobody even blinked. There were plenty of folks walking different venues like casinos just puffing away at all kinds of e-cigs. Were they vaping nicotine or cannabis? Couldn't tell but there sure were a bunch of them.

Thats funny, there is hardly anything in Elko county even if you include the cities, I'm surprised they actually had to ban it proactively as opposed to just denying anyone who is obviously going to try to be shady, i mean there is only a tiny population group up there as it is and like 90% of the people up there are mining/construction type jobs that still have zero tolerance polices.


I will say some gorgeous land up there though.

City code forces dispensaries to close between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. But the City Council on Wednesday unanimously voted to let Oasis Cannabis to be an always-open marijuana dispensary. Mayor Carolyn Goodman, whose son has ownership interest in marijuana companies, abstained from the vote.

Having just came back from Vegas with chocolate candy bar edibles, on-demand vape pen ($10) and distillate cartridges.....(as you can see not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas).

I can tell you that the above article is correct. BUT ...I never saw so many people vaping inside the casino, walking the strip, walking the mall, etc. But as @macbill said - only non-vapers/smokers would have an issue. Too stinky and too obvious.

I always found a spot where I wouldn't be vaping close to somebody unless they walked by after I started but it wasn't hard to notice that there were quite a few people just having at it wherever they pleased except at the tables.

Nuwu Cannabis Marketplace, located on tribal land on 1235 Paiute Circle near downtown Las Vegas, planned to open the one-lane drive-thru to the public at noon.

Nevada may be forced to reveal marijuana-license criteria
Nevada faces complaints about secrecy in awarding licenses to sell marijuana in the state’s booming legal marketplace, boiling over into lawsuits and legislation that appear poised to pry open the process.

Several companies have sued the state tax department, arguing that no one knows for sure the criteria officials use to award new licenses. They complain the state releases no information about who seeks and receives permission to sell cannabis to adults, many of them tourists, in the nearly 2-year-old market.

Testing dirty cannot be used to exclude Nevadians from hiring:

(CNN) Starting in 2020, Nevada employers cannot refuse to hire a job applicant for failing a marijuana screening test, making it the first state to pass such a law.

"It is unlawful for any employer in this State to fail or refuse to hire a prospective employee because the prospective employee submitted to a screening test and the results of the screening test indicate the presence of marijuana," states the law, signed by Gov. Steve Sisolak on June 5.

There are some exceptions. The law does not apply to firefighters, EMTs, employees who operate a motor vehicle, or those who, in the determination of the employer, could adversely affect others' safety.

If an employer requires a new hire to take a screening test, then the new employee has the right to submit to an additional screening test to rebut the results, the law states. The employer must accept that follow-up test, the law says.

"As our legal cannabis industry continues to flourish, it's important to ensure that the door of economic opportunity remains open for all Nevadans," Gov. Sisolak said. "That's why I was proud to sign AB132 into law, which contains common-sense exceptions for public safety and transportation professionals."

The law takes effect at the start of 2020.

Nevada is the first state to approve such a law regarding drug screening tests. In 2016, voters in the state approved the legal sale of recreational marijuana to adults 21 and older, and recreational marijuana sales began a year later.

The New York City Council passed a similar bill in April that banned employers from requiring a prospective employee to pass a marijuana screening test as a condition of employment. In Maine, which legalized recreational marijuana, employers are not allowed to discriminate based on marijuana usage, but there are no laws about drug testing.

Nevada state officials have closed a marijuana testing laboratory and issued a public health warning about tainted strains of cannabis products sold at retail and medical dispensaries in the Las Vegas area, Mesquite and Carson City.

The state Department of Taxation said in a Friday notice there were no reports of illness, but that high levels of mold, yeast, bacteria and fungus were found in some products tested at the Cannex Nevada lab in Las Vegas.

The department said people with suppressed immune systems were most at-risk of illness.

The advisory listed batch and lot numbers and dispensaries by name. It advised consumers not to consume products named Island OG, Lemon Meringue, THC Bomb and Zombie Kush sold in raw cannabis and pre-rolled packages.

It said products that failed secondary microbial testing by an independent lab were being sent for additional testing at a third lab under state oversight.

Officials said they had no reason to believe that the dispensaries or cultivators knew the products were tainted.

The advisory was the third issued this year by the department overseeing the state’s lucrative marijuana market.
