Need some help deciding what vape to buy

Hello, greetings from The Netherlands.

After 10 years of smoking weed and cigs I'm ready to say goodbye to combustion forever, now I need help buying a good vaporizer that fits my needs.
I've had a Vapir One long time ago as well as a wooden VaporGenie so I have some experience.

My budget is € 400 max.

- No balloons.
- It's purely for recreational use, not medicinal.
- I'll only vape good quality weed, no concentrates etc.
- Good clouds of course.
- Portability is not that important to me, I will only use it at home and sometimes at a friend's house. But who knows, I'm also going to quit smoking cigs so maybe I will want to use it outside. Hard to say.
- Good build quality, needs to last me years with daily usage.

What can you guys recommend ? Thanks a lot

Check around as @Enchantre suggested, but be sure to look at the e-nano and solo. Both are very popular and well within your budget.

And if a log vape appeals to you check out the underdog. The e-nano is better known but those who've owned both seem to like them equally. Also if butane is an option, check out the lily or daisy. All 3 of those are likely to last for years.

There are just too many good choices these days, and it often comes down to deciding which model fits your preferences. You want "good clouds" and if big hits are important to you, that's not a strong point for portables. I'd recommend the Solo for versatility. It competes with some plug-in models, hit wise, but is battery operated. With most other portables, carry around ease of use takes precedence.

Portability is not important. of course I'd like it but it's not a must. If a plug-in delivers a better experience I'll go for that.

How about the S&B Mighty ? Competes with some of the best plug-ins.. Good battery, great build quality, low draw-resistance, big clouds, great flavour. Only downside is it's price but if it's comparable to a good desktop unit it sounds exactly like what I'd want.

I also like the Arizer Solo and Air. Especially the Air because of the removable battery. Any other big differences between the two ?

Do you plan on attaching it to a bong?

Vape is already pretty smooth compared to combustion but if you use water it takes it to the next level of smoothness, especially if you want to vape on a high temperature.

I got a nice little water tool for my Air and it is really nice!

I was in Amsterdam in May and Azarius head shop lets you bring your own bud and try their vapes if you are a serious customer. They have miniVAP. Are you close?

The miniVAP with battery is € 469. With water tool it's 500+..
It's twice the price of a Solo + GonG + water tool + good grinder + some more extras

Is it really that much better ?

I am close to Amsterdam, I'm there almost every day for work. I think i'll visit the Azarius shop to check out the Mighty, Solo, Air and miniVAP. It's going to be one of these 4.

In no way is it just for the experience (though thats still certainly one of the reasons I do it), guaranteed you will be impressed with the hits a good vape/water tool combo delivers.

My setup currently is the almighty Solo (), PlanetVape 18mm gong and a medium-sized (about 12" high) Black Leaf HC bong.

There's no way I could get hits as massive and smooth as I do, without the gong and water tool.

And no doubt the same applies to a desktop vape too. Sure you can get just as high (personally I feel I can get higher through water) without the water tool, but it's nice being able to get there much quicker in an almost combustion style session. what can i say I love bongs lol. I can enjoy them without the negative effects now.

Good thing about the Solo is that it still is an amazing portable too! And at home its a beast with said setup.

My next vape will most likely be a desktop, and most importantly one that pairs well with glass.

Whichever route you go, you'll be glad to say fuck you to combustion

'Better' is too broad of a term, and "that much" is going to be purely subjective. Paying more won't get you 'better' vapor, which means you can get great performance without paying a lot, but a more expensive model may make it easier to get precise temp control and therefore a more satisfying vaping experience without as much of a learning curve. For example, 7th Floor's LSV can deliver big water filtered hits, but VapeXhale's more expensive Cloud EVO can do the same without worrying about how hard you're hitting, since it retains the vaping temp better. Too big of a draw can overcome the LSV's heater and drop the temp during a hit.

If I were you I'd hold off on spending big bucks on a Mighty or MiniVap. Something like the Solo may suit you and it's a very good value. I've owned and used a lot of portables and personally don't care to pay the price of a Mighty or Mini.

I switched to vaporizing without pause for tolerance and did not feel like missing something apart some nicotine. I have a solo to, it is not bad but I don't like charging the steem and it spits kief if not using a sieve.
But you should look for different vaporizer models from a retailer of your region and read about them here, or better, try them out before buying like Minnbobber said, if you can.

Anyway, I already bought a Solo with a nice case (VapeCase). Tried it out yesterday with some moroccan hash (put it in a bit of cotton). Absolutely wasted after 1 session.. was a bit too much I have to say.. Maybe I should've gone with a lower temp (was on 7)

But I really don't like the draw resistance. It's crazy strong.. Is it better with a GonG and water tool ? I'll receive these in a few days. Will try tonight with some weed.

What @Enchantre said, and also, i never had a problem with the draw resistance with the stock stems but I did find a noticeably easier draw when pairing the Solo with glass, so yes it will be better. The bowl won't last as long though of course

The solo was my first flower vape and when I got it I loved it the draw resistance was a little bit strong but eventually I got used to it my wife never did. Eventually I got sick of charging the batteries over and over and wanted to use my portable vape for what it is portable not my daily driver.
That's were the E-nano comes in more improved in the area's of flavor,performance,appearance,it's just not portable And my wife love's the draw resistance !!!
And if you can imagine more efficient than the solo.
so if you have the extra funds you might want to check it out.
Not really more efficient just smaller loads.Imo
Don't get me wrong I love my solo just not as much as my E-nano.

I use my vapes because of recreational purposes only and not because of illness, too. Hope it stays that way. I'm not a medical user but a every day long time stoner. Don't want you to overmedicate, wanted to show how hard hitting and efficient it is.
Personally, I don't like how to put weed in the stems upside down and putting them in the heating chamber. You have to put the solo on the stem upside down before turning around or the load will fall out.
I prefer direct top loading vapes or baskets are ok, too.
Then, the four holes in the glass stem are too big for my grind. The weed I use has a lot of trichomes breaking off when grinding. This kief will make a way up the 4 holes when taking the first or second draw landing on my tongue. Not a big deal but imho it's annoying...
Hope it was clearer, I suffer a little bit under the language barrier. I would sound much smarter if you could understand German

What works for me is puffing the solo close like a cigar. I read the term "micro draw" somewhere on FC. This works quite good for me. Anyway I am sticking nearly exclusively to the mighty.

If you already own solo.
you really need to check out the solo thread there's a lot of tips referring your complaints about putting additional screen in the stem.
and vacuuming up loads into your stem like a vacuum cleaner with suction.
use my photos done nothing but honey almost ready for a cup of hot cocoa.
that's another thing you will over there in the solo thread.

Thx a lot for your hint, I read the thread and the entire arizer air thread but I prefer the loading tool of S&B or folded paper to load the minivap and keep my air for delicious vapor just don't feel comfortable with arizers system but those all are first world problems I have and the solo is not performing bad at all.
