Hello everyone and happy holidays!!
So I’ve been doing my homework and I’ve been looking into getting a convection vape for home use and that can be portable for when I go to my buddy’s house.
These are my vapes
Volcano
Mighty
Iq
Dynavap m
Extreme q (which I wanna sell)

I’ve been looking at the sticky brick Jr, and the lotus for butane powered vapes. I’ve also been thinking something like the lil bud or firewood. I would like to be able to have a nice size bowl I can pass around maybe 2 ppl. I am a heavy user just to give you a hint when I hit the M I take about 3-4 bowls to get where I wanna go.

These are my wants on a vaporizer
-Battery life (replicable battery,butane)
-Portable
-Flavour is important it has to be good
-Clouds important too
-Does not have to be discreet
-easy to keep clean

If there is a vape I didnt mention I would love the feedback.happy Holliday’s

What are you looking for in a vaporizer that your current quiver can't accomplish?

I don't think you could go wrong with any on your shopping list, or what you are considering-
I Have and love my Lotus, Lil'Bud, Firewood 4, Firewood 5, and Sticky Brick Jr. Sticky Brick Runt is on my shopping list.

All can do what you are asking for clouds, effect and flavor.
Mist Vaporizer Touch or Mist Vape Touch 2, Or Tubo Evic is another you might think on-
I am not social with my consumption, so will let others weigh in there, but I think it might be possible that another in the Sticky Brick family at least might be better suited for sharing- then the Jr at least.

*One Comparison regarding FW5. If I recall correctly, someone said that each bowl for FW5 holds the same as their Dynavap bowl. I have not verified this in my own experience yet, though I own both vapes. (Well, I have a Wood Scents Log, but that comes with a Dynavap as a part of the set up.)

Something to keep in mind as you explore further- it is possible that different vapes can get you to different lvls with the same amount. That happens for some of us.

I looked into a Tubo but all I could find with bowl size was .2 or .3 of a gram

The tubo can handle small amounts or quite large amounts with ease. It uses stems similar to the milaana, splinter, etc.

What size capacity are you looking for? I have a frecdiffereny stems I use for the tubo wnd I can try to see how close we get to your desired capacity.

For the record though, I’ve never failed to get a group on less than 4 pretty toasted of a bowl.

I mean we reloaded and kept going because we’re lushes, but it took great care of us!

I'm not sure why you're so focused on butane. The tubo meets all your requirements and more. People describe it as a portable log. You can see how easy it is to use and to clean by seeing videos on the website. I'd suggest the mvt or forthcoming imp from the same company but I think you'd do better with an 18mm stem instead of 14mm. The tubo gives you control over most aspects of vaping and you can microdose or use a larger bowl. Any 18mm glass stem is pretty interchangeable regardless of what vape it came with.

The rimmed basket screens I've been using wouldn't check your large bowl box but I still have to shout out the Splinter and Splinter Z to anyone shopping for on demand convection. They both handle great and I prefer their draw resistance to my Tubo X.

I don't have the tubo x but haven't found draw resistance on the tubo evic or the splinter. Not sure whether you're saying that the splinter has more or less draw resistance. I have both splinters and, while this is just me because box mods are alien, I'm still struggling to figure out settings. That may not be an issue for anyone else.
I would also add that it's always nice to have a vapcap m. It's so affordable and nice as a backup when batteries aren't available.

Just my :2c:. Based on your criteria, I suggest the following:

The Firewood 5, Splinter Z or Ghost. The only caveat is that the latter 2 are not good for passing around. As already suggested, a Sticky Brick would lend itself wonderfully for chilling with friends. BTW, the Splinter Z & Tubo are both mod based.

For the Tubo, I'm personally am not partial to a mod encased in wood; heck, I'm not generally partial to a wood vapes at all - don't like holding wood. And I like picking my own mod. But with the Tubo, you will get open source firmware that FJ has perfected for specific mods. So, you'll have less of a learning curve &, arguably, perfected performance right out of the box.

As far as others you can take a look at:

the Milaana 1 & 2 (1 is unregulated, 2 is regulated)
The LB Classic & Elite (Classic unregulated; Elite regulated.

As far as the Haze Square is concerned, it still has issues so, imo, it's not ready for primetime yet.

Read the threads & watch the thread videos. For the Ghost only read the thread & watch youtube videos from Oct. on when the new version was released. But do go to the Ghostvapes channel & watch the 4 instructional videos. If interested in the Splinter Z after reading the thread, you can shoot over to the Splinter thread. The 2 vapes are really big brother & littler brother.

As you already have an arsenal of vapes to keep you toasty, you have the time to research your vape options. :)

I can second the TUBO series here. What is most amazing about it is the reponsiveness of the software and the speed with that heater reacts to you draw rate.. I dont think there are many vapes out there that can compensate on your draw technique. Performance wise it is the perfect vape for me ,but it has a few downsides..
For example i could get along with the TUBOevic as good as the TUBOx for the following reasons.
TuboEvic has only one battery cell which with my style of agressive inhalations i can say that it doesn last me for more than 2 sessions.. Also i was getting device too hot messages, which i think was for again due to my barbaric vaping manners, but still had something to do with heat reflected from the heating area to the mod. Also it is not user service-able. Swiss are not in EU ,so even you are an european you still might be subject to taxation. The mod part is not remove-able and those things have a certain failure rate, just because they are made in China i guess.. or because evics are not meant for prolonged operations.
Anyway things got solved when i got the TUBOx with Wismec RX300.. Have yet to see a Device too Hot message...(it has a really good heatsink due to it high mass) Batterylife is amazing it has 4 batteries,It performs much better than the single battery mod.. I can see wattage rising up to like 200w for a fraction of a time,,for example if you start your inhalation without a preheat.. It manages to deliver instant vapor within the second from cold, which is not a thing that will happen with the OG tubo. I bricked my mod once.. Got it replaced by the warranty of a local retailer.. Also fucked up the 510 connection, managed to replace it myself with another one.. The heater part is the most reliable part of the TUBOs ,it is build to last,so i feel confident that i will have a working TUBO for the long run, which is not how i felt about the OG after it failed for second time because of a faulty mod, just after i got it back from repair...
I agree there are more comfortable concepts that the TUBOx ,but i really doubt there are many vapes even PID controlled ones like the Herborizer DIGITI and The GS,than can be so responsive to your draw speed.A friend jokes that he basicly sees the wattage of his lungs... LOL... They just have a lot a mass ,so temp drop there is unavoidable and even if they compensate ,they dont do it quickly enough.Imo once has to experience the TUBO so he really gets what is the big difference compared to unregulated/VW controlled vapes. IF you dont really care about being able to dance at narrowed temp range,i suggest you take a look into LOGvapes... They are small, easy to carry around, stealth, and deliver thick clouds.
I dont really get vapes where you inhaled the jetstream directly. The lighters have brass(which contains LEAD for ease of machining) nozzles and insulated wire of the piezo in the flamepath, also they have plastic tanks.. I can't help myself but detect those signatures in the taste,so when i see people recommending them for taste,i feel like their tastebuds are as ""sharp"" as mine.
I have the OG lotus ,and as much as like it ,i admit i feel a slight woody taste signature,i guess newer models have that issue addressed but still torching redhot metalplates while inhaling is not really my thing.

And thank you to everyone I will be looking into the splinter z and millana2 but serious consideration is going into the Tubo evic if there is a way to get a bigger bowl.

Best vape I can think of with a big bowl is Plenty. I think it's the only one with a > 0,4g oven but it's not fully portable.
You could get the reducer and pack it with 0,25/0,3. When you feel it's time to party use the classic bowl and load it full to 1/1,2g.
It accepts Mighty capsules.
If you never vape less than 0,4 you can discard the reducer and just get liquid pads to place on top of your load.
Pretty long cable, no glass to mess with, easy to use with friends.

@Greenleaf88 I think technically TUBO has largest bowl of those three becauseit can use 19/26 :)) While RBT line uses 19/22 and 19/19.Here are my 2cents for both heater technologies. I have a Splinter Module and i can say i prefer the TUBO because of it better taste and lower mass heater, which makes is way more responsive when i comes to compensating on the tempdrop + has a pleada of features, like eco, cruise, temp step.. While its software works fine with the Splinter,i dont think it does it as much wonders as it does with the TUBO heater, simply because of the High mass splinter coil.
There are a few vapes like logs, splinter,GS which depent on having a lot of mass at the right temp and experience a very little drop in temp during inhalation. The Tubo heater is just the opposite,it is low mass, like the heater on your hairdrier or hot air gun.The software calculates the temps based on the shift in resitance and shoots just enough power to deliver a precise hit,i dont think there are many vapes out there that take in account your speed if inhalation.
Anyway i am sure you will be happy with both. IMO you should get the one which is more pleasant aestetically or you find more comfortable for your usage pattern.

Thank you for the clarification.

As @Abysmal Vapor has mentioned, you should be able to handle larger load sizes with the tubo than the others you mentioned as it is able to accommodate as much as 19/26.

However, all the devices you’re narrowed down to are awesome, and I think you win no matter what you choose. I own the splinter z and love it.

Best of luck to you in narrowing down to your pick!

@Abysmal Vapor, FJ said in the mod, firmware or one of the Splinter threads that if someone sent him a Splinter & Z he would create functioning profiles for them so I would tend to think that they would function as well or nearly as well as the Tubo once the values were correctly adjusted.

So if I’m understanding how much material you would put inside a stem depends on stem size not bowl size? Are there also available wood stem options? This on the evic sorry
Edit: when I say stem size are we talking width or length. Sorry for all the questions this would be my first convection portable and I’m excited and want to make the right desicion.

The 14mm or 18mm or other is the end that goes into the vape so I guess you'd call that the bowl. You might look at Ddave's website- I buy 14 or 18mm stems from him with a narrow stem end I can use with a whip- or water and I use them with almost all my vapes. It will give you an idea about sizes. And yes you can get wood stems. Alan from toastytop.com makes several sizes and designs of wood stems- some with glass attached both 14 and 18mm. Also Ed from edstnt.com. His milana wood stem will fit any vape that uses 18mm. Both have made custom ones when asked. There are probably others but those are the ones I use for wood stems. Alan also makes some logs and and the imp which is similar to the splinter. And Ed makes a log that uses vapcaps as stems so you get both vapcap and a log with one vape.

Is the heater on the Phat Ass Module identical to the one of the Splinter ? I have one i dont use much ,because of the weird smell it gives me ,it could probably serve well for that purpose if heaters are the same.

@Summer from the looks of it there is no heater currently out there that will survive a 15minutes cruise at max temp without scratch like the tubo heater does. so that brings some limitations even when settings are correct.
what i will do if the attachments come to me is ill tell the correct tcr number on them, this is only part of the equation. the coil resistance will shift between units and has to be determined for each unit by the user.

many dont seem to get that with a tubo product you also pay for me calibrating the unit by actually measuring the bowl temperature which is a big part of the performance in reality.

the automatically read resistance by the mods has never produced the correct results in the hundreds of units i calibrated.
