Need advice on first vape

I posted in the Vaporizer club, but figured I might be able to get more responses by separating the thread from that one. I'm going to paste what I put in that thread so that I don't need to type everything again.

Yesterday I went to my Dr for my yearly review, and he brought up the fact that I should move to a vape instead of smoking via pipe, water pipe, etc.

In the past I was looking at the SSV and the HerbalAire, but it appears that the Aire H2.1 has replaced the previous model I was looking at, that's what I get for stalling on moving to a vape months ago.

In any case, now I feel like I don't know what the hell I'm doing again and was hoping that perhaps some could guide me to a decision or help me on where I should look to help myself.

This is what I'm looking for:
--Desktop vaporizer, meaning it doesn't need to be portable, in fact other than the MFLB I don't know that I'd think of any of the other types having used portables in the past. But if you have suggestions for other portables outside of the MFLB let me know.
--Ability to pass through to water pipe
--Bag capable - Would be nice but not crucial
--Whip capable
//Remote control and/or LCD display not necessary

And price range is up to $350, preferably $200-300 range. What I was looking at that I think would work was the ...
-Extreme Q
-Silver Surfer
-Aire H2.1

Are there any others to consider? And, does anyone have any specific thoughts on those models? I don't seem to remember the EQ coming up last I was looking, but it has been a while since I was researching this stuff so your help is greatly appreciated.

Right now from the 4 responses, there were 2 for the EQ, 1 for the SSV and 1 for an iolite (though it was unclear which one). But, what I was looking at was the different vapes on amazon and comparing to other prices on the net, i.e., gotvape, vapeworld, etc., I can get it (EQ at least) for almost 1/2 their price via amazon. This would mean that I could get the EQ and a MFLB for less than those sites.

But, that's not really on point, can anyone offer any comparisons or additional advice on which one I should choose?

Then you will have a desktop vape that can be filtered through water, and the ability to take it anywhere with the batteries if you want or in the car with the PA. Very versatile!

If you are set on a desktop vape with bags/whip then you can't go wrong with an EQ or SSV either!

If you are asking that question referring to the Extreme, then that is not necessary as everything to connect an Extreme to a water pipe is included with the vape.
If you are asking that question referring to the MFLB, then you would want to purchase the WPA (water pipe adapter).

Hello everyone! I posted this once when everyone was at BM so here it is again...

I would say the Extreme Q would be the perfect vape for you. It's a great desktop unit that you could use the balloon method or whip with. Plus you could attach a SSV water pipe adapter in replace of the mouthpiece and you'd be set to enjoy some water filtration. Though the GG Silver Surfer is an absolutely bomb device that not only looks like a classy desktop unit, but also performs to the high standards of the true vapor enthusiasts. To be honest, you cannot go wrong with anything from either 7th Floor or Arizer. Enjoy your vapor!

I bought and Extreme and wished I'd gone with the Silver Surfer. Maybe it's a grass-is-greener situation but I find the things I chose the EQ for (bags, digital display) have ended up being things I didn't use at all. I moved out of my old house in May and left it there for my old roommates. I think simplicity is super important in a vape, and with all the different parts, the EQ is far from simple.

Not a bad vape at all. Great for what it does and it is still a regular fixture in my old house. I had to own it to know it wasn't for me.

If you're looking at the SSV you should at least have a look at the DBV as well imo, if you haven't already of course. You don't need a waterpipe adapter for the SSV/DBV perse, the tubing fits a 14,4mm downpipe great without one.

As for portables, check out the Arizer Solo. It doesn't have to be 'just' a portable though, it performs great as a wireless home unit as well and the glass stem also fits a 14,4mm downstem without any extras.

Good luck on your search for your first vape anyway. I wouldn't worry to much about buying your perfect product right away though. I took a lot of time doing the research myself last year and eventually bought what I thought was my dream vape, only to end up realizing it wasn't for me after using it for 6 months or so. As long as you buy a quality vape and look after it well you can usually sell it again for a good price and move on the another one if needed.

And if you're looking to spend that much on a SSV, then I'd suggest looking at the LSV, which I prefer and is only a little bit more expensive from most retailers. If waterbonging is going to be a priority, the LSV is especially superior to the other 7th floor models IMO.

I really wish I could try an Extreme Q so I could have an opinion on its performance... From what I understand, it can have it's bowl/screen setup tweaked so it delivers almost-DBV quality whip hits.

The HA is not a bad choice. I think the OP is confused: there is no new "Aire" model, just the same HA 2.1 we've had for a while now. It can be had for under 200 on ebay, is built like a tank, makes remarkably thorough extractions, I've heard the company has great service and you can easily vaporbong directly from the stem. I find the flavor is a little lacking and the bags should have a real proper valve system (or at least a little cap on a tassle), it's still an excellent vaporizer for the price. I know some people complain about the bag blowing of the Extreme Q - I personally feel the HA puts out denser vape than the Cano but with slightly worser flavor - basically of comparable quality. I do not like the HA for direct draw - it can be a little irritating with the "straw" connection and is almost harsh without it.

Agony is right to mention the Solo. For 190 for the new SS from Puffitup, it's a hard proposition to pass up. It hits hard enough and is efficient enough to stand in for a "desktop," at-home type vape. It also has a very small, gentle learning curve, less than the DBV or SSV. Read the many reviews about the Solo in its thread to see its strengths and faults
