Airek base with velocity v2 styled glass top. Dont buy https://www.fasttech.com/p/4684201, the 510 pin is recessed. I was gonna stack two fc-2000 wicks.

but the glass fit on an airek base I had jsut purchased for $4.00 as a rda sale at my local b&m. Fits snug enough to seal but loose which is nice for wax when it starts to get gunky.

Here is a fc-2000 wick on the airek base with the velocity v2 glass. Hits like a champ. I load a good ball and pool it in the bottom left and it just wicks it right up, no need to reload often.

Are you having problems with your coil touching the base? Everyone has told me to avoid that for fear of a shortage of some kind. Like you, I'm trying to make a coil that would submerge itself partly in a pool of oil on the RDA deck so I could 'vape slow' instead of taking single dabs.

The biggest pain has been getting the wire as close to the deck as possible without it touching. I almost have to build the coil with perfect length and make perfect bends to get it to sit just right and still work properly.

Not all attys depend on the body of the atomizer for current flow. What does this mean you may be asking... Well, if you happen to have an atty that doesn't depend on the body of the deck for the flow of electrons, and the deck is non conductive, the coil can touch the bottom of the atty deck without issue.

I have pictures of my setup buried in the " one hitter quitter" thread, im sure if you do a fast search of my posts you can easily find it.

make sure that your coil will not short on your deck by EXTENSIVELY testing it on your OHM READER. If you don't have one, DO NOT ATTEMPT this! I cannot stress this point enough. Most atty's out there DO depend on the deck for the negative electron flow. If this is your atty, the resistance will greatly fluctuate when you try to read it on the ohm reader. It helps to poke the coil with something non conductive to further ensure that there is no possible short.

Now with all that being said, the derringer is one example of an atty that fits the bill of a non conductive deck, and has the added bonuses of high mounted air holes, and very low well defined wells that an average coil fits into very snugly. I run my setup single coil and can get 4+ good hits from one small pack. If one were to dual coil I would imagine because capacity increases, so would hit count. But I can put up to a gram in the atty itself, .5 on the coil and .5 on the coilless sides well, and can go almost 2 days without carrying anything other then that atty and re-arranging more onto the coil as needed over time.

I should mention I run a wickless clapton at .5 ohms. And its as responsive as you want it to be, you can take what i call sip hits, or you can get a full on rig hit from it.
