i've had BHO made from molded herb and the finished product didn't have any hint of musty smell or taste.

Also, if your mould is wispy (and white) similar to cobwebs you might have a commonly found household mold called 'cobweb'. Usually a H2O2 solution melts it away. Or, you could place it outside in the sun for a while. Indoor molds dont survive well in nature :D

I've read from many sources that bho from moldy herb is ok... wouldn't try it myself, but it does seem to be a common opinion...

I have read that many molds are more dangerous when ingested than inhaled.

However I have just finished my short watercure (about 4 days), I left all night long the sopping buds on the case of my pc rolled into a napkin, on a 140mm fan running at minimum speed (blowing fresh air).
This morning I 've put them into the small glass jar, with the top opened. Now they are fresh but not too moist, so I closed the jar and put in a dark place, but not too cold...

Nycdeisel said that I should keep the jar opened for a couple of days, then seal it and open once or twice a day. How can I know when the buds are perfectly ready for being sealed?
I would be scared also if my buds get too dry (crispy)
What should I do to prevent any form of mold again, but keeping them moist at the right point?
Thanks

You DONT WANT THEM MOIST!!! thats how it got fucking moldy in the first place!!! Moisture causes mold, take out the moisture and as long as they are dry enough there wont be mold.

if it molds again I would say its garbage. You pretty much destroyed a lot of its good qualities with the water cure anyway.

Back in the 70s there was a popular myth that black mould (black merta) increased potency by a huge amount. A lot of people deliberately made their weed mouldy and discovered that a) it didn't work, b) it tasted awful, and c) it was otherwise harmless. Nobody ever died or even got sick from it as far as I ever could discover. I'm not saying white or any other colour is harmless, and maybe we all just got lucky. I disavow myself of any consequences should anyone use mouldy weed--but I have, and 40 years later I'm still here.

Yes, I remember that and I did exactly that. I moistened the weed and put it in a dark corner of my teenage bedroom closet floor and 40 years later for the life of me I still can't find it when I visit the folks! I bet it's pretty dry by now....

I have left the jar opened for another day, now the buds seems even too dry. I think they won't mold again.
Regarding the watercure, they lost a bit of terpenes and trichomes for sure, but don't think thery're so bad now. They looks very good, and still have hairs and nice smell.
I found a guide on the web for the watercure, it said that the buds MUST stay submerged for 7 days, if you shorten this period you will have bad results (letting them longer is just useless).
That didn't make sense for me, so I decided to keep them only 4 days (tested yet with good results by another guy).
I suggest to do this method if you need (or just want to try), I think that the most important thing is how you dry the buds, no matter how long they stay submerged.

Great Scott!
Not even reading the rest of the thread only the OP, but throw it away.

Mold is so incredibly bad to be inside your lungs. I'd rather smoke a dozen blunts than vape a little mold.

to get the perfect moisture content prior to sealing up weed in glass jars you would ideally use a moisture checker (electronic on ebay $12, or local cigar shops about the same for analog type), then dry by air or open jar until it stabilizes at 55% or 60%
you leave the moisture checker inside the jar and read it thru the glass after half an hour.
once it's down to 55% you can safely seal it for months and the cure will continue (starch to sugar conversion takes time).
water cured weed doesn't need to cure, as most starches and some chlorophyl have already been removed.

Sealed soaked hot water. Then dry 24 hours. Spray 2/1 water/hydrogenperoxide. Soak 3/1 water/peroxide 30minutes. Dry again 24 hours. Store black bleached mason jars.
