MJ Worsens Dry Eyes Condition?

I performed Laser Eye Surgery (PRK) in 2009. Since then, I've inherited dry eyes that are particularly worse when I wake up in the morning. A drop of eye drops in each eye would easily fix this issue. Recently, when I began vaping MJ for the last several of months (on a near daily basis), it appears my dry eyes condition has gotten worse. My eyes are evidently drier than before when I wake up in the morning; I need to use at least 4, sometimes as much as 5 drops, in each eye to properly lubricate it. Is there anyone else that's in the same boat as me? Is this something that I should be worried and go see a doctor about?

I vape in the afternoon sometimes, my eyes do not get dry after. It only gets incredibly dry in the morning, when I vaped the night before.

You may find it's more a sign of dehydration then a real eye problem, I hope anyways.

You can try making sure your well hydrated before during and after long sessions and see if it still happens.

Vaping will dry out my eyes and sinuses If I don't drink enough Water no matter how much soda, coffee, tea or juice I've had.

Yes I suspect that may be the cause. I will keep an eye (no pun intended) on my hydration level for the next few days. :)

Dry eyes is sometimes a byproduct of laser eye surgery , but there are many factors and conditions that may also be the culprit.
I have dry eyes due to Angle Closure Glaucoma. Eye lubricants help, but you might want to see an Ophthalmologist to rule out any other reason than vaping and PRK surgery ;)

That may or may not be true, but adding more essential fatty acids to your diet can combat dry eyes :) Those include Omega 3- and Omega 6-rich foods like nuts, and flax seed oil.
Yes I thought about doing that as well. Thank you!

So I've been drinking tons of water before, during, and after my vape sessions, now my dry eye condition has returned to normal the morning after.

Thanks everyone.

If you're putting drops in your eyes everyday, be sure you are using preservative free drops. Consider that GERD might be causing your nighttime and morning dry eye condition. It only takes a little reflux to wreak havoc on your eyes by morning.

Take a break and see if there is a difference in your condition after a week or two. If so take that piece of info to the doctor and see what they have to say.
