California is looking awfully tempting right about now. This industry seems to have reached a tipping point out there. With all these people growing, wouldn't prices start to come down too?

Is that doc's office there so that basically anyone can walk in and just get a prescription? I guess the CA medical board is lenient with this too, eh?

My friend over there was telling me that a lot of people don't care, and some shops are getting fined and such. This is what he told me, Idk for sure though.

Good stuff though, it would be weird to see mj shops though haha.

I believe they are starting to crack down on some of these shops and allowing only a certain amount of dispenseries to be in biz. Its gotten to the point that just about anyone can get a card now. (Resident or not)

Which is perfectly fine. It will make society see that legalization isn't such a farfetched idea.

You don't need to be a CA resident to be eligible for a med card? Thats crazy...

It really is an impressive, the cannabis culture that is, scene in California these days, I hope its giving people the right image of government controlled cannabis sale. With the "greedy" dispensary prices that is. Must be fun nonetheless :2c:

Yes, Los Angeles (at least) is in the process of limiting the amount of dispensaries to around 170 (latest number I saw), down from the supposed 600+ dispensaries currently operating.

They ideally want to split dispensaries by town and have a specific number for those towns. One I can't believe is Venice Beach. One of the bigger MMJ supporting areas, and there's roughly 13-16 dispensaries there, and the city wants to take it down to one or two.

However, it's doubtful that 400+ owners are just going to let the county shut them down and be fine with it. Expect this to be in courts for a while.

The report is saw said at least 40 of those 170 are going to get looked at and might be closed down as well.

From my understanding those 170 are the only ones located in allowed areas. the other 600+ are all too close to zones they cant be near. Zoning violations.

Precisely. They are giving the originally registered 170 or so the upper hand, letting them stay so long as they comply with the new rules/regulations, and even then some of those are being closely monitored for possible shutdown.

It's an unfortunate situation in SoCal for MMJ, but keeping up hope. At least the legalization measure has a far greater number of signatures than originally called for.
