MiniVAP Vaporizer

I believe the heater used to be aluminium (actually same as used in vulcano) but they changed it to ceramic...

Edit: and minivap to my knowledge is the only vaporizer used in medical studies nowadays. I know vulcano used to be used in studies too, but now only minivap is being used. I believe those studies are being done at the university of Leiden in Holland.

@Mr. Whitewall and @tepictoton thanks a lot guys for your considerstion and input. I will sure chew on that. I have always liked the look of the MV, Im sure I would have tried one a long time back but for the aluminiuim.

So I will look into this. If in fact the aluminium is no longer, in place of ceramic...then that puts Minvap back on the Mini-Map lol!
Cheers guys, have a wicked Saturday everyone and enjoy those Minvaps. :)

The mv has an aluminum heat exchanger wrapped around a ceramic heater.
Thank you for confirming that Sticks. Really sorry to even bring this up here it is honestly only in relation to myself and I'm not meaning to suggest for one second that there is any health concern with the aluminium for others.

So I think I will have to keep my salivary glands in check on this one.

Got mine a few days ago. The set Temps are definitely higher than I usually use, but the draw is so smooth and clean, it doesn't feel anywhere near as hot as other vapes at the same Temps. I'll take it!

The flavor is definitely like nothing I've experienced in a vape. It actually coats my tongue and inside of the mouth, even on blue. Even with some leftover mediocre product.

I thought it was going good to be so big and heavy as to be uncomfortable for recovering from shoulder surgery. But it turns out I can just prop it up on a pillow on my lap to hit. Much easier than having to repeatedly lift and hold the Mighty or even the Fury2 or Milaana. I'm loving the funny looking Flexicone Plus--more cooling, less lifting.

Haven't been able to rig it up to water with any of the adapters around the house. Eagerly awaiting the water adapter from Delta 3D. He must be backed up with all the Black Friday orders.

So far my favorite temp is pink--or is that what seems to be known as "blurple"?

Just got my glass core in today. Arrived about six days late, so a little early for USPS standards when all was said and done. Only put a few bowls through it so far, but wowza the glass core sure hits a lot differently than that teflon core. Can't say whether I like it for better or worse yet, but definitely different, more intense!

I definitely love how my unit looks now though, I was really hesitant about how it would look with the black core and the blue battery to the point where I almost pulled the trigger and got a full vape just to have the matchy matchy colors, but I gotta say it don't look too shabby.

So, while awaiting delivery of my Delta 3D Studios water adapter., I discovered that the Fury2 water adapter fits perfectly over the silicone "Stem" part of the Flexicone Plus! Of course it is a little awkward but hey, it does seal and makes bigger hits not only possible but painless as far as heat and dryness are concerned.

Looks like the 3D adapter was just delivered so I will be trying that out today also!

EDIT: the adapter is that floppy silicone so can't support glass. Expected it to be solid. Any other suggestions? Hope I can return it...

My suggestion is to keep @Ratchett 's Delta3D miniVAP adpater and buy a cheapo hydratube (HT) as I like this configuration much better than inverting the mV into a bubbler.
Most of my miniVAP pics are help captive by photobucket but here's pic of Herbalizer with Delta 3D adpater and it just works so good to rest HT on top and remove after hit.
miniVAP works so good upright, with hydratube resting on top----remove HT after each hit

IMO, expecting your vape to support glass, stay by itself , is asking for accidents and trouble.

Note that the 3D piece can also be used with a long glass mouthpiece and for that use, a flexi adapter is much better than solid as it gives you a little movement.

EDIT: The Delta adapter also makes a great ergonomic cap----much easier to screw/unscrew the cover . IMO, a nice improvement .

Thanks @MinnBobber, yes hydratube on top of vape is my preference also. I have a couple but broke the little cheap one I had. I need to find a little bubble straw but don't want to deal with DHGate cause my card got hacked shortly after dealing with them a couple years ago. As I mentioned, the 10mm glass stems from the little Fury fit onto the long Flexicone Plus thingy. Wish I could find a cheapo little bubble tube.

Thanks for the suggestion about using a long glass tube on the Ratchett adapter. I will try that.

So, I've been holding off posting about my new PQC, I wanted to get to know it a bit and I was waiting for the decarb kit. Early results were ok, but I was thinking I would need/want the decarb kit and was almost regretting not getting the GQC in lieu.

Flash forward a few days and we're really loving this thing over here! While the initial flavor is a bit better than even my Evo, that fact that no matter how long or hard I go after a load, I've yet to get anywhere near a popcorn or bitter taste, it's absolutely incredible that way!

Heat up time is ok, just like the Evo I don't really bother until it's soaked for a bit, it's worth the wait. That is the one place I'm disappointed, this is truly a session vape, it shines there, so why such a short timer? I've gotten used to using the AC puck because time and time again, I start it up, go do something and come back to it flashing blue at me, only to start the cycle again and return just to find it the same way again, or sometimes off! Just saying, plugged in, give me 10 minutes, you shouldn't feel rushed with this one.

So I've played with this just about every way I've read about in this thread except using the Delrin adapter for water, don't have one. Most often I find myself setting it up with a SonG from Delta3DStudios and the 18mm version of the PuffitUp Sipper, it adds just the resistance I like with it. Dry it's a 18mm bent mouthpiece, but I prefer the bit of water.

I've also gotten in the habit of always starting on the AC puck if possible, then swapping out to the battery. I'm not sure why, when I've used the battery, it's lasted just fine. Just the logic I suppose.....

All in all I'm very happy with it, @MinnBobber was spot on with his declaration about the flexicones. They really are a great, practical solution. It's too bad the Evo elb's are too deep for the MV, that may be a whole short movie right there!

The only bugger I'm dealing with is the decarb kit. With an incredible fight, I got the lower ring in, but the upper is not going in without damage. I already marred up the bowl getting the lower ring in, I'm pretty frustrated about that. But the upper isn't even close. Yes, heated the unit first, also tried the ring in the refrigerator and not before hoping it would contract a bit. I measured it at 16.98mm and my Peak ring at 16.67mm cold, so there's a bit of a difference. I don't remember hearing of this before or did I miss it?

Ok, off to email Jorge and enjoy!

Hi @lazylathe , did you got you glass core? Did you give it a try with your HA TonG as a bowl?

Still my favourite way to use the glass core!

It just arrived today!!
Thank you @stickstones for sorting out the address issues...

I remember when the GC was first being tested years ago by a member @roger, no longer around...
The clouds were amazing and i was mesmerized!
Not wuite sure why I never bought one and stuckl to the Teflon cores?

The Glass Core absolutely CRUSHES most of my other vapes!
Potency, flavor, clouds, flavor, clouds, flavor...
This thing on RED is NUTS!!!
It matches my SV4 but with better flavor!
WOW!! I am blown away by this core!

@PPN
I still have a few boxes of vape gear to unpack but first need to install shelves etc in the vape room.
Will try and see if I can locate it this weekend and try it out!

Just using the Flexicone, 18 to 14mm reducer, small basket, heat on RED.
Delicious, thick, hard hitting vapor!

What is the black material in this pic of the GC heater?
http://www.minivap.com/blog/en/glass-core-general/
Not totally certain but I would say it's PEEK, it looks very similar than the PEEK used in the other core.

@MonkeyTime - are you putting the decarb kit in a PEEK core? The decab kit was made for the teflon core, and I'm not sure it fits a PEEK core.
It fits my PEEK core better than it's fitted my OG teflon core although my unit was originally a teflon core I upgraded to PEEK a year ago.

modnote: sorry to the back to back post, please, could you merge them?

what’s the best way to clean the Flexicone Plus (the long one)?
I don't use the long flexicone much anymore but I would always just put some 99% iso in the tube, cap it with my fingers and slosh it around a bit. Rinse with water and let it dry out for a bit. Cleans up nice and easy. You'll notice the color of the flexicone will change over time(it will turn darker and brown). There's nothing you can do to stop that but don't let that dissuade you because it doesn't change the performance or taste one bit.

That's the aluminum heat exchanger. It's formed in two halves that cover up the ceramic plate heater inside.

Thanks to notice my mistake @stickstones I didn't gave a look at the pic and supposed @buckhakeesah was speaking about the black material around the top of the bowl. Interesting pic, I never noticed it in the Minivap website, thanks for sharing.

Is the PEEK/teflon core built similarly supposing the tube around the aluminium heat exchanger would be peek/teflon rather than glass....? maybe I'll find a pic too.

Does anyone know a good source for the large size basket screens? Many on Amazon, just not sure of the exact size.

Same question for food grade hi temp silicone tubing. What ID should it be to fit over the end of the Flexicone Plus tube to extend it?
