I've tried both and much prefer the Teflon core. Sent my glass core back. Don't miss it all.

Oh really, that much difference eh? Well thanks for your opinion lwien, I value it. I'll just grab another Teflon core but in Green!! :brow:

Seemed like mine wasn't sealing right or something had to smash flexicone to make a seal big hits then sometimes nothing adjust cap Again then it work

So you can use an arizer solo the straight one stem straight into minivap with out lid or anything

I had the option to test both from sticks before i bought them and i chose.the glass core..for aome reason it taste better to me..but of course i had to buy the teflon as well..i really enjoy the glass but i like it hot!!

Ok, so what about using the Teflon + Decarb vs the Glass?

The Teflon + Decarb kit IMO is like getting a Glass Core MV "on the cheap". It's not quite a glass core (with its added conduction) BUT it is close and it's a lot cheaper than buying a second MV with glass core, if you already have the Teflon.

I've tried the Glass Core, and the Teflon + decarb, but I went with multiple Teflon core MVs.

For me, Teflon had the best flavor of these different options (and best flavor of any vape I've ever used) and I'm a flavor chaser above all else. I've never felt the Teflon didn't hit hard enough.

But others might desire the hardest hitting MV (glass) as it is still is a world class flavor producer !!!

Yup, try it out. Pack 3/4 stem with a small round screen at the end to keep herb from falling out. Depending on my mood I'll preheat to purple, take a few hits and then bump heat up to green for a few more, and finally finish off at red. I enjoy the glass stem method over the flexicone basket lid combo. The draw using the stem is more restrictive than when using flexicone and lid. Just something I tried out one day when I was lit and ended up really liking it!

just to add data, I will confirm that the teflon core retains flavor for longer, and provides a more pure flavor overall. but the glass core really cooks... noticeably more aggressive extraction with subjectively stronger (IMO) effects. you can finish a load in only a few draws with the glass unit, if you've got the lungs. It's not outdone by the S3 or the Evo in terms of raw performance. so, if I was forced to choose, I'd choose glass. but you win either way.

I do miss the old teflon units. the new ones are better overall but I don't think they taste as good, which is crazy because I think the current teflon unit tastes fantastic. @lazylathe you lucky if yours is still truckin. I went through a few of those units

to the noobs in here, I cannot recommend the delrin adapter enough. takes out all the hassle

lazylathe

Almost there...
Well i tried the direct load in the chamber last night.
Mostly negative results for me with this technique...

1- It takes more product to load the chamber than the large baskets
2- Flavor was nowhere close to the baskets
3- Flavor disappeared a lot faster
4- Clouds were similar to what i get using the baskets
5- Chamber is still nice and clean!

I will stick to baskets!

@kimura I am very happy with mine!! It will not be going anywhere unless it stops working!

Hey Kimura, Is the chamber diameter on the glass mv larger then the teflon chamber?

Kimura what do you mean by raw performance? That's why I'm interested in the glass I want maximum extraction. I get it from my Teflon but it takes a bit. Usually takes me an hour to smoke a full bowl on red with my bud very ground up to fill the basket. Hoping the glass core will make extraction easier at the tail end of bowls.

I think I'll just suck it up and spend a ton and get the glass core + decarb + attachments and accessories.

Do you guys think the glass core is better than the mighty or crafty I had both. Or the firefly 2 how good are the clouds with the glass core. I have a Teflon core now

So I got a arizer solo straight glass tube today. So when ya use it with mini vap you take all rings stuff out core

yes. they'd probably be the same size if you took the teflon sleeve out of the (teflon) chamber. with the sleeve in, it's definitely a bit smaller than the glass chamber.

Kimura what do you mean by raw performance?

I mean if I take the same material and load each unit exactly the same and try to take the same normal draw off of each one, the glass unit produces more vapor and I believe leaves less actives remaining to extract after that one draw. glass produces more vapor quicker, in fewer draws. some of these may be massive lung busters that some may consider a waste. it's easier to blow more ridiculous clouds with the glass than with the teflon.

clouds are ridiculous with the glass core. comparable to Evo, etc. produces better vapor than mighty/crafty IMO and more of it.

So let's say I have the glass and Teflon and do a full session with both. Will the glass extract more due to the higher Temps available or will it simply be a quicker session with the glass and they'll both eventually extract the same amount?.

I have no idea but honestly the difference in effect between the two is subtle, and subjective. any difference in overall extraction at the end of the session is probably going to be insignificant.

I've been vaping for about 7 years and have owned and tried many vapes. Ive owned the MV for a few months and has become my favorite vape by far. Im thinking of purchasing another for a backup

My Teflon core I got February 2015 isn't functioning right I believe. I think I want to swap it for a glass core model. Has anyone ever done this how much did ya pay. Where did ya send it.

Has anyone ever sent there minivap in for repair with the manufacturers in Spain
I have sent mine in because it was hit and miss, mainly miss in getting good heating results.

Just wondering how it went for you and what they did to resolve it.
Do they update it or replace an internal part to repair? How long did the process take?

Thanks

Repairs in North America need to be initiated with Hermes in Spain. They will give RA codes and instructions for return. Then I am authorized to fix them and send them back.

Hi, do you have a trick to fully clean the MV?

Mine got a "bad taste" which pollute the flowers taste...I think it's due to the dust/resin fallen on the heater through the screen...I only use the baskets.

I know it's possible to send it to Hermès for heater cleaning but I would prefer a cheaper DIY solution.

Hey all, I just traded for a minivap and believe I got screwed again.

When I turn it on I only get 2 temp light colors, blue and green.

When I cycle through the temps it goes blue, blue, green, no light.

From a fully charged battery I had it on green for 15 minutes with the teflon rings and screens out and can stick my pinky in and touch the heater and it is not hot at all.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, something is not right.

Issue #1 seems to be the "red light" as that is not working in your unit. The temp colors are supposed to be:
blue, blurple (blue plus red), green, and red. So the red is out for blurple and red temps

Would the light being out cause a problem OR is it the result of another circuit being out?

Always always with MV, if something is amuck, turn it off and then on-- to reset. I'd also suggest disconnecting the battery and re-connecting the battery. And look at the connection pins----ok vs corroded? And notice the pins are tiny tiny so no margin of error when connecting.
Battery seems like it is totally screwed on and but there is another 1 degree that snaps it together solid.

Do you have the AC puck to try that?
Good luck and report back

EDIT: I'd also try on the "vacant" red/ high temp.
I'd try taking some pulls thru it when on green or blank red---maybe that will wake up the heater function???
Bummer,
can you roll back the trade for DOA???

@MinnBobber Yes I tried with AC puck and battery and it is making good contact both ways.

This is my second MV first one heater died this one I traded with another member and it was DOA.

@subway13029 I did contact @stickstones he is the man for sure.

He is indisposed until Monday so I thought I would ask here if anyone else had a similar problem

Here is a quick video of how it is acting.
