@lwien...you using the puck to power it? I always use the puck, and then it is like a luxury when I throw the battery on there for a walk around.

Another thing I find is that the silicone nipple perfectly fits a 14mm male joint. I just keep the nipple with the basket on the 14mm male joint and use the minivap like a heater, sorta like a log vape or lsv, to make it pure convection. Roger D's videos showed me this and was a major reason why I bought the mv.

Yup. That's how I'm using it as well.

My puck doesn't work. I just sent out an email to Jorge on this this but I really don't see me using it. Using the MV without a cord attached to it is just so much more convenient and one of the really nice things that separate it from my LSV.

Are you sure??
1. the plug needs to be firmly snapped into the puck. It seems like it's in when it needs to go a little farther.
2. as mentioned earlier, the puck needs to be twisted that extra little bit too.

It's just that I don't think anyone has reported a faulty puck....

Puck use---another option is to warm up the unit with the puck and then switch to battery power.
with that method, the battery seems to last forever. It takes big power to heat from 70 F to 400 F,
but not so much to keep it there.

I'm sure you have already, but just in case as minnbobber said, double check that the power adapter plug is inserted firmly.....

I've heard of puck problems before...I don't get it. The main reason I like the puck is because the unit weighs so much less, which is nice when it's on top of a bubbler. Try putting the puck on all the way and then twisting it in the off direction just a tad to see if it seats properly. Mine works as it should with no special jimmying needed.

Also, I assume you are attaching the puck and nothing happens, since it turns on once connected. But try turning it on with the buttons after attaching the puck. Hold both buttons in for a few seconds to see if anything happens.

Tried all of this...................nothing.

@lwien - i assume you have no meter to test the voltage of the puck ... how about a length of wire (lamp wire if you don't have any other copper wire) to allow you to make contact with the puck off the vape, just to be sure electrical contact is being made between the two.

You mean to see if any sparks fly by touching the contacts with the wire?

well, that would be a test, but no, just touch the wires between the two contacts of the puck and the two contacts of the vape ... like an extension cord for the puck.

Plugged the charger in and then plugged the puck into the charger.

I didn't interface it with the MV though. I just ran two copper strands to the contact points on the puck. Totally dead. No power.

uh oh ... time for me to STFU ... i thought the puck plugged into AC and then attached to the MiniVAP to supply power - my bad. Go to Radio Shack and get a cheap DC volt meter.

Hate to interrupt a perfectly good thread, but I went into the MV online store, set up a profile, and then registered a warranty request, after outlining that VN stated that units now go to Hermes. Here's the response:

Hello Dr Killick,

Thanks for your email and sorry for the issues with your unit.

If vapornation doesn't want to manage the issue, you should send us the unit to Spain. Is this possible for you? We would check it and send it back to you for free in about 5days.

Please, let us know if this is ok.

Thanks and best regards.

Alfredo

So, after confirming all they require is the core, it's been wrapped, prepped, and sent Air Express for about 9 spendolas...

And I just got a delivery from the dispensary up the road! Their way of saying thanks as I missed them on Easter Monday - imagine, someone expecting all stores everywhere to be open all the darn time, eh? Next time the sales guy is gonna drop it of himself, as his parents live in a winery up the road... ;)

When I read your previous post re: VN response to you about returns, I knew their response could be interpreted numerous ways......now we know.

This is a quicker way by far vs VN.

@Smknbud Thats kinda what I thought, as well! I was surprised at how quick Alfredo responded. Plus he promised a 5 day turnaround time, so thats never a bad thing. Hopefully it's back and blurpling along before we move house at the end of May...

Anyways, I guess that puts me back in the market for accessories... wheres the best place to pick up a few sparesie flexi-doodles?

Does this seem different from the VNation response which said Hermes now wants it done this way
vs Alfredo's/ Hermes response which points to VN not wanting to manage the issue (anymore).

??

It seems like Hermes was a bit surprised, but as long as I get to send it somewhere and it's working when our gets back I'll be a happy camper. There isn't much worse than being vape-less... Time to go clean a HI screen... Sometimes you just havta go low tech :)

Well, there goes bud conservation.

It's not that the MV is not efficient for it is one of the most efficient (in terms of bud conservation) that I have ever used, but rather I'm using it more than any other vape that I have ever had. I usually only vape 4 to 5 times a week, but I just can't help but use the Mini every single night. It's just such a pleasure to use.

I emailed Jorge and suggested to him that he should add in the manual and the quick-start guide that users should take a medium to hard draw rather than a slow draw that is typically used for most vaporizers. If I would have known that, I would have saved myself from posting all of those previous posts in regards to not getting vapor production. I no longer have to pre-heat to red. All I needed to do was to increase my draw speed and THAT made all the difference in the world.
