Hey everyone, what's up :)

So from what I've been reading so far, the new model of the MV uses some conduction (cooks herbs while not in use) as opposed to being fully convection? That's kind of put me off I was going to order one as a gift to myself, but now I don't know anymore :\

Hello @xhexk
Then why don't you get a tcmv (Teflon Core) ? It's the same updated heater and software just without the glass core. It shouldn't cook your load.

Hey @Michel

Do you know where I could get one? I'm in the uk if that helps. :)

Also, would you recommend the MV over the s&b portables?

"vapefiend.co.uk" is a well known retailer here in the forum, he has the newest MV's, too. "namaste-vapes.com" could be preferred for a reduced price for S&B portables, about 15% I think. They are in UK, too. But namastevapes are not well known and it's on your risk. But personally I know people who buyed here without problems!

Alternatively you can simply get your vaporizer from the manufacturers directly, too. Just google them up and you'll find their homepages. They are located in Germany/Spain but they do send worldwide for free! (At least S&B)

There where already some "heavy discussions" on Mighty vs. Minivap. Would you mind to first read the reviews some of us wrote down? (mine included?)

If you have specific questions please don't hesitate to ask. Or can you give us some Infos about you? What do you prefer? More pipe or bong, more high or sedative, fast heating up time vs. slow one, more desktop vape or more portable for outdoor traveling everywhere you go? Are you a taste chaser? Convection or conduction? Cooking the load is a problem? Do you use bongs or water tools? Well isolated aluminum body or is plastic ok? Easy to clean or ISO bath ones a week? Real AC or pass-through? Not to forget: how patient can you be in a warranty case or do you have backup Vapes?

Try to answer at least some of these questions and I'm sure you'll make the right choice between gcmv, tcmv and the mighty!

Edit:

Easiness of use depends on how you load the vape. Direct loading is comfortable with MV. Basket and flexicone takes some more time but you don't have to clean the MV at all (just the whip).
Filling aid for Mighty is great outdoors but mighty doesn't stand from itself easily on a table and cleaning the CU is a PITA.
Mighty has less parts to mess around. If you want to take your desktop vape with you all day every day or want to use outside, the mighty is better. Mighty has a car charger, too
Advantage of MV: you can preload 5-10 flexicones at home and just switch them on the go.
Mighty is more conductive and squeezes every little bit of thc out of your herbs, but tastes diminishes towards the end. Can finish a bowl on 210 without coughing. MV wins in taste, especially to the end but is harsh on red. MV (and Volcano, too) gives me the feeling there is some cBD left. Of every ABV I had from other vapes, the mighty gives me at least one more CBD rich ugly tasting hit, if not 2! Personally I like it! Close to combustion from the body effects if temp is around 200'C. MV is hitting good, also.
MV's manual is Spanish, and the mouthpiece is shitty in my opinion. Way too hot. You have to get water or a whip. Doesn't make the unit handier. Burns your lips if you are used to Mighty if not adapting mouth piece.
Mighty can't change batteries and can't run on AC only (but runs with dead batteries directly!). MV batterie life cycle should be much better. Expect to change the batteries in Mighty after a year or 2 at least depending on usage and if you baby it.
Mighty heats up a lot faster. MV stays hot longer. Mighty is easier to use overall and has no learning curve. No matter how you draw or load your bowl! It goes through everything, even trough pieces of marokkan hashish or pure kief ( gunks up fast, but MV can't vaporise hash or oil as good as the mighty because of no conduction, imo.)
Mighty has some problems with housing but customer service is good and FAST! Hermes is much harder to contact and warranty is slower, but he does all what 2 persons can do!
Cloud production on Mighty is insane, MV should be good, too (not mine yet but I am confident)
Minivap is much heavier. There is not many pockets I have on my cloths with this size. MV is more a batterie around the home unit. Mighty is more a heavy hitting portable unit, my best buddy! I use it and the crafty exclusevliy!

Edit: the MV is so beautiful with its Apple like aluminum body, each time I get it out with me or a friend uses it (with rings on the finger ) I'm scared to scratch it. The mighty is more an Nokia 3210, you can throw it in the same pocket with your keys if you have a screen protection.

I like the way the mighty communicates very clear with me, the UI is great with display for Infos about temp and batterie and the vibrating feature can be great, too.
With the MV I have sometimes the feeling it does not now what it wants to tell me exactly. Had to ask myself a lot before I understood the weird batterie indicator. And it's really changing colors from red to yellow and green and back on to yellow...

The vibration and auto-shutoff can be annoying on the mighty when you want silent vaping.
I like the MV for not cooking the herbs and not switching off itself so fast. I can do other things while vaping and just take a hit every 2 or 3 minutes if I want. Mighty wants your attention every minute by hitting or clicking, MV stands there politely with its black dress without disturbing you by doing whatever, until you think it's time to hit...

Edit 2: I have the tcmv, from what I read so far the gcmv should behave more like a mighty, without vibrating impolitely

Edit 3: for international traveling, airports and security checks better take the MV.
Same if you are more a bong hitter with water tools, silicone whips, glasses and so on...

I have looked into vapefiend but I get the impression from the description they give that only the gcmv is available. The original manufacturer seems to give the option for different cores on the usa website, but not on the European one.

I don't mind sacrificing a bit of portability as I mostly vape at home anyway, so my requirements come down to pure flavour, efficiency and vapour production. I can't stress how important flavour is to me, every vaporizer I've tried gives good flavour for two hits then disappears, which is a huge tease :D

I'm not looking to hook it up to a glass piece anytime soon, I like to function while being high and prefer something that doesn't need cleaning after every few uses. Plastic is fine but aluminium is nice.

I'm trying to read through the entire thread, from what I've gathered so far, the tcmv gives good clouds with excellent flavour, while the gcmv gives excellent clouds with less flavour?

From my experience, the gc has a little more flavour then the old tc.
The short draw feature, which works great, gives you a strong taste with gc.
What I remember, @Roger D also sayed something like that a few weeks ago?
Not sure how the new tc is tasting.

Herb cooking is not a big Problem for me, because you can always pull off the cap with flexicone attached between longer breaks.
If you use a WT with flexicone or the 18mm to 14mm reducer with basket inside and the mV upside down, then there is no cooking anyway.

I'll probably say the Minivap after what you wrote down so far. Be aware for full extraction you have to use it on red, and red isn't easy to breath in if you don't use some kind of adaption to the flexicone + or/and the mouthpiece to cool the vapor. Hot vapor is slightly bitter, too, at least from my experience. The more conductive mighty can fully extract between 185 and 195'C depending on material without being harsh at all when used dry (I don't use water tools). But taste decreases faster than with the MV. Hard choice to make...
There is some resin build up in the CU of the mighty, too. I don't know if there is really more trapped (if using the fine sieves) than in water tools, 1m silicone whips, glasses and so on. But the flexicone of the MV is at least easier to clean. I have some resin build up in the flexicone to after 15 or 20 sessions, too...

Someone could weight vaped material and collected reclaim (in different jars of course) over some time to give the answer....

Edit: vaposhop.com with money back guarantee, I'm sure they would help you if you change your mind about your new purchased vape. Since you are on FC you can find enough drawbacks to warranty everything

Is there anybody using the updated TC or GC dry and can fully extract the used material (without heavy throat irritation by only using flexicone + and adapted mouth piece)? Just had my reseller on the phone and I have to make some decisions... Thx

What temps are you using and is the vapor harsh or hot?
Lately I have only used the red temp. I am not real sensitive to harsh vapor so I might not be the best judge. It doesn't seem as harsh as herbie on 445, or even say what I get out of the air on red.

I used the large basket, and The mouthpiece on the air stem never got hot to my lips. About 15 min session I would say. To me it seemed comfortable and very tasty.

A few weeks ago I suffered a failed heater and a badly made battery that wouldn't keep contact. You guys advised me these were known issues so I sent back to Vapefiend (it was just two months old) and three weeks later Hermes Medical sent me a replacement - or perhaps it's a refurb, don't know.

Anyway, took a while but I have it back and it's working, yay!

Couple of things:

1) mine had a white plastic sleeve inside the heating chamber when I sent it back, and it still has it now. Does that mean I sent back and received a 'teflon' version?

2) The one I sent back required a long press on one of the side buttons to shift it up to the next temp. This one just requires a standard single click of the button. Was my old one faulty to begin with, or is this a new firmware?

3) Also received an additional hose and gauze and basket. The gauze has a metal rim around it that none of my other original gauzes have, and the basket seems a little shallower than the 'large' basket I already have, and has a slightly different metal lip. It also came attached to the inside of the hose 'funnel' bit, which I now realise is by design! I had not realised it was meant to be attached like this!

4) Which leads me to wonder how one is supposed to attach baskets to the rigid white plastic funnel piece that seems designed for use with the black rigid plastic pipe. How does one get the basket to attach to that? Or doesn't it? And how does one get the gauze out of that rigid white plastic funnel, for cleaning?

Cheers all, back to enjoying the MiniVAP after a month of enforced PnP use (not the end of the world by any means!).

1) & 2): you have the updated tcmv (teflon core) with new software.

3) exactly!

4) basket can't be attached with this setup. For cleaning simply push it out from the other site.

Perhaps you could answer my post just above since you have the new core! Thx

On another note.. Anyone who has had a replacement sent directly from Hermes, be it through an independent retailer or not, ever receive their unit having not been informed of it having shipped and thus was provided with no tracking number?

No further communication from Hermes since Alfredo teased me with the news my unit was repaired. I assumed this would mean it's on its way my man..
But alas no..
So.. I contact Vapefiend asking if he'd heard anything further only to be told that they(Vapefiend) had been informed Hermes would be sending it directly.

So basically I'm asking.. Could it be in transit and I just haven't been told?
Anyone have this happen and successfully received their repaired unit/replacement?

This is exactly how it happened for me. Sent back to VF, they sent to Hermes, then about three weeks later with no warning a signed-for delivery arrived at my door directly from Hermes. Just pure luck I was in to sign for it!

EDIT: I know it's not allowed to double-post, but someone just asked me a question and I want to quote it but only know how to do that when I'm posting first time, not editing a post.

To Michel: what would you like to know? I read here some preferred the taste from the teflon core but as I've only had the teflon I can't comment! I think it's the teflon one, my original had a plastic white sleeve inside and so does this one. I don't know what the glass core looks like. And I couldn't really tell you if there was any difference between the old teflon one I had, and this allegedly new teflon one, as I only had the MV 3-4 weeks before it failed.

I think my taste buds are a bit shot because I don't often taste much after the first couple of hits, if I tasted it at all - though I know it's there, for some reason with the MV I don't detect flavour as much as I did with the Pinnacle Pro.

Maybe it's the quality of the stuff we get tho - here in London there's no coffee shops or medical herb stores! Our guy does get some lovely citrus strains from time to time and I can def taste those, but I've noticed using whips that flavour is definitely harder to detect that it is with say the Pinnacle Pro. I feel like the whips - distance from the herb to my mouth - contribute to this but on the other hand, could be my taste buds like I say!

The vapor was too harsh for me using the stock stem and flexicone+. Once I got it working with water well, and then a good dry solution, this vape vaulted up into one of the best for me.
Whats your secret for dry vaping? Hermes sent me a little 14mm glass adapter that sticks into a flexicone+, so I might (will) get a little bubbler of some kind (like the PnP hydrotube). Any advise on how to tame the MV vapour is welcome! At the moment i do finish off a basket dry vaping on red, but the last few puffs are hard going, and it takes a fews of them to get the abc dark brown!

Email Hermes at sales@minivap.com. I'll bet you can get a teflon-core model in Europe, too.

From my experience, the gc has a little more flavour then the old tc.
My experience was the opposite. Here's how I rank them from strongest to weakest flavor:

1. Teflon-core with old heater
2. Teflon-core with new heater
3. Glass-core with new heater
Is there anybody using the updated TC or GC dry and can fully extract the used material (without heavy throat irritation by only using flexicone + and adapted mouth piece)?
I can get full extraction dry, using just the flexicone tube and mouthpiece, without heavy throat irritation. But the vapor is hot, and the heat makes it hard for me to taste the herb, so I prefer to use the Herbie whip.

Gotcha.

I don't mind a little heat, but it can get uncomfortable at red, occasionally green. I attached an extension whip to the stock one and got cool air got it felt like a long way to draw sometimes. It was the one that goes with that cool little wooden cape, with the unusual symbol logo, attaches to the stock whip with a glass insert.

Michel your statement about the MV fully extracting at red is completely incorrect. I can easily extract everything at any temp level. Blue, pink, green or red.
I'm not sure why you would be making these statements inthe first place, isn't your MV faulty ?

And hey @Edwardo ! Dry setup is not difficult to achieve. Go to @Ratchett website and order a SonG. You can put a dry mouthpiece on top of it or stick in glass or a hydratube like you weretalking about. It puts the MV on a different level !!! Highly recommended.

Thx to @stickstones and @stonevape and @bigmouth and to the several private messages I received from some of you (not posting here for several reasons) owning both, MV and Mighty, and preferring the mighty for dry usage (at least on the upper temperature scale above blurple or green).

@xhexk
If you would ask me about dry usage now again after my own opinion and the PM's I received, better stick with the mighty or at least get a herbie whip! Or think of water simply. Perhaps even make coconut oil or BHO of the abv like at least one MV user does to not loose actives because he can't finish on red easily. But since you said you will try to read the entire thread yourself, make your own opinion and read the mighty thread, too. Someone is saying he has lung pain and anxiety on the mighty thread so I'm quite unsure about the different opinions and thoughts someone could have about vapes anyway!

Edit:
@Mrmrmrmr
Your undiscerning statement is the reason why some people prefered to send me private messages to not cause a vaporizer war in the MV thread. Please don't take me for a stupid person talking shit without justification or founded source. Please don't feel offended because of my very clear words, I respect your opinion, I would wish you would respect mine, too... Better ask next time why someone has another opinion than you and try to understand different point of views. Sometimes it could even be just because of subjective reasons, but this time it's not. It's completely not... :peace:

21390864en.jpg

Edit 2:
Since Hermes isn't the guy who communicates often with his customers, neither has manuals, an actual post address, a working phone number or anything, I don't know if your updated mv is performing better since the picture above is surely a very old one... Could be the new units are running hotter, I haven't a founded source for this apart you guys here since I'm waiting for Hermes to answer me for already 4 weeks! Like I said already a few times, I had some good sessions with my MV. So my unit wasn't really dead right of the box. But I'll get the GC myself and give you my objective opinion soon, don't worry!

Edit 3: don't forget CBD and other actives need higher temps to be released. Sadly they don't even talk about CBD in their studies...

Edit 4: before somebody is yelling because the new gcmv is really able to fully extract on green or even on "blurple", I won't disagree on this. I knew already this is possible. I enjoy full extraction on lower temps since I own the s&b portables. But please don't tell me taste is still better with the more conductive gcmv than with the mighty and extraction would be still superior in the same time. I'm quite sure they perform nearly equally when just talking about vapor quality and vapor amount, even if the MV could slightly be better. There are limits by your material used and by simple physics. Quite curious for the gcmv performance anyway. But it might be the mighty fits better for some people. Not for everybody. I'll find out soon hopefully. Don't think I spend 500€ to troll here, I want to enjoy my MV like everybody does! I already appreciated some big advantages the MV has over the mighty several times and I won't separate from it unless caused due to violence or until I'm sure I really prefer s&b plastic units. Probably my only real reason from separating from MV in the future will simply be I dislike water tools and the dry MV on red is to harsh for somebody who combusted nearly 20 years...

I understand why some prefer clearly the MV over the Mighty. I wish I could, too. But I can't, not yet, and I'll pay 250€ again or warranty my unit hopefully soon to find out why. Even if I won't get a single "Like" for my hard texting with language barrier. And some probably still are going to overread the perhaps useless critizm in this post and my future review anyway... But I like to discuss a lot like my long posts are showing, and I'm ok with different opinions, so I would like to hear your thoughts better than getting overread! :)

I have an adapter made by mestizo, which is no longer available. I am working on a source to make more for you guys.
Cool. I do CAD - let me know if I can knock anything up for you! Im very tempted to buy a S&B Plenty cooling coil (€10). BY the looks of it, it might mate with the normal flex cone (but I'm not sure if it would fit through the hole in the MV lid)
