Between the 2 and I need an answer by tomorrow. I've heard mixed reviews on both. Want something discreet, reliable, efficient, and easy to use/learn.

Tell us a little about how you currently vape. Do you vape only flowers? What is the quality of the material you get? Do you plan to vape outdoors? In public? How much material do you currently consume, how often do you get medicated? How much time do you want to spend getting medicated? What is your budget? Do you like to hit it straight or through a water filter? How did these two vapes get on your short list, ie what attracted you to them? How long will you keep and use the device, ie how long of a warranty do you want?

1) new to vaping
2) herbs and also marijuana
3) good quality herb and marijuana
4+5) I plan to vape in my room at my parents house. Probably not in public places
6) I use no more than a gram of weed a week. Usually only about .5 grams
7) only want to do it once or twice every few days
8) budget is no more than $90. Found both vapes on eBay for less than that
9) either way. Not sure which I like more since I've never caped. Straight is probably ok.
10) I liked these because they seemed to be the most popular/efficient vapes that are discreet, little odor, easy to hide, nice designs, low price, and ease of use. Also because they are very portable.

I've never used the FM but I'd say it's easier to use for sure... The MFLB has a known learning curve.. IMO when it comes to reliability, you cannot beat a no-nonsense Lifetime Warranty IMO! I would say the MFLB is more discreet, since it's very small, and you heat it on demand, unlike the FM.. I love that w/ the MFLB the power/control is in your hands.. IMO the MFLB has to be more efficient for sure, since you can load as little as you like and vape it until there's nothing left.. So yeah, I would pick the MFLB personally, and if you feel up to the challenge I'd say thats the way to go.. If you are mostly concerned w/ ease of use, then the FM may be more satisfying.. but If you feel up for the challenge I'd consider the MFLB, it can be quite rewarding IME.. Either way, I hope you like what you choose..

I didn't like the MFLB. I don't like fiddling around with putting a battery in and taking it out. I've looked at the flowermate threads. I've only seen a picture of it. It looks cheaply made. It's cheap to buy, last time I checked $80.

I don't think there is anything that fits your criteria on the market. You may have you decide which compromise you can best cope with.

The Flowermate is the most affordable, but has mixed reviews as to durability and materials.

The MFLB is slightly out of your budget from an authorized reseller, and is very involved in its use. I think of a personal session, and I need to commit time to its use and meditative breathing. The lifetime unlimited guarantee puts a cap on your long term cost.

In the same price range as the mflb is the Lotus, which people here say great things about (check their thread). It requires the use of a butane lighter. That scares me, but you may like that sort of thing.

I think you should watch mflb videos and see if you're prepared to do that. You smoke like .5g a week now. That leans heavily towards the MFLB, because it is the best of any device on the market for consuming such small hits.

Why not? I usually use more than .5 g but I don't smoke often. I found both the mflb and fm for under 80 on eBay

@Buildozer summed it up pretty nicely. I don't find the batteries for the LB to be a problem at all, but that's a personal thing. The LB does have a learning curve but it's not that hard. I've only hit a Flowermate a couple of times but I didn't like it much. It has a fixed temperature that's not to my taste, and it's heating for the whole session so it cooks your load constantly. That is disastrous to the flavour and it will use up your stash faster. In my opinion, the extra effort required for the LB is well worth it, and you get the best guarantee out there: lifetime, even if it fails due to your own fault.

If you get a cheap LB on eBay, make sure it has a valid serial number.

your new to vaping and your usage is low the solo would be your best bet check out the solo thread you understand why it doesn't combust and you can use a very small amount in it.

can always do a poll solo or mflb i bet the solo would win hands down imo

Out of those two choices the Magic Flight for sure.

@Wizsteve I like my solo a whole lot but if i could only own one vaporizer and had to choose between the two the solo would be gone. That Magic Little Box wins Hands down for my use.

I would not recommend the MFLB. For people who have high tolerances like me, it just doesn't so much. Even the PA and stacking hits can only do so much.

The OP said they do around a half a gram ,maybe a gram a week so i really can't think of a better vaporizer then the magic flight. Take's a bit of time to raise your tolerance with the box if you vape small quantities a couple times a week.

Being able to stretch out vapin' a trench over a few days would be ideal.

I have actually become quite a fan of the flowermate, but it isn't perfect out of box.

If you're using the silicone mouthpiece the flavor isn't all that great, and tends to irritate my throat after awhile.

I was able to improve the flavor and reduce the irritation to my throat by swapping out to a glass stem. However, the real winner with this device is the F-Bomb water tool. I have found it to completely take the irritation away and I have been able to take some great big hits that triggered a cough when I drew too deep.

The best part of all...you don't need an adaptor to use the F-bomb, a 14 mm F bomb will form a great seal when you press the silicone mouthpiece into it.

The flowermate also stays cool to the touch aside from where the mouthpiece meets metal.

The FM has a nice compartment to hide the mouthpiece and the loading chamber can fill a pretty decent sized load.

I have not found it to be an inefficient vape by any means. However, I'm relatively new to this world of vaping and can only compare to the Ascent and the Haze. Sure, I would like more temperature options, but for what it is, I think the FM is a great little starter vape.

I do think that you'd probably be happier a bit if you saved some more and raised your budget to pick up something like the Indica or the Solo. The last time Solo was on massdrop it was extremely reasonably priced, and I'm kicking myself for not having picked one up.

Without having MFLB experience, I can't say anything one way or the other, but it does have quite the following.

The FM is also super simple to clean, and I think there are probably ways to make it more efficient even. I don't know if pinnacle pro bullets will slide into the heating chamber (can anyone confirm?), but I can slide in an original Davinci oil can. I will experiment this weekend and see how that effects vapor production. If indeed that works then you could vape until you're satiated, then power off the device and pop out the little oil can so that it isn't surrounded by heat, reducing the amount of unintentional heating.

I realize this post may be late for your requirements, but perhaps it'll be of use to the next guy in line. I certainly like the flowermate and think it is a great starter and backup vape. And when you combine it with a watertool, I think it commands quite a bit more respect.

If you can increase your budget to ~$120-$130 you can buy the solo from either ebay or Puffitup might price match.

Solo seems perfect for you except for discreetness but your not going to vape much in public. Even in public it seems to be stealthy if you put it in a cup with lid with the stem as a straw

Benefits of solo over MFLB from what I have heard is:
-better taste
-more conservative
-much longer battery life
-almost no learning curve
-cant combust

MFLB main benefits over solo are you can take one hit vs solo is a session vap. MFLB is more discrete

Benefits over FM, I know less about this one but the obvious ones seem to be:
FM:
-Chinese made (vs Canadian made)
-some have concerns over materials used (vs solo is stainless steel and glass)
-flavor, as noted above (again solo is glass and SS)
-quality control and general quality (solo been around for 3+ years)

I'd consider the Firewood 2.1 over the MFLB if you chose a "manual drive" vape. If you want something idiot-proof then the FlowerMate is brilliant, it's so far the easiest vape I used... but if you can afford it, the Solo is the best choice for the long term.

I don't agree that the solo is more conservative than mflb.

For a few hits and back in the pocket, mflb is great. Heats only when you need it, taste degrades fast, extremely reliable, extremely reliable customer service and warranty service. It's small and stealthy.

Some can't get over the learning curve, and some dislike the quickly degrading taste.

It medicates, and does it quite well IMO, why intake more than necessary?

I wouldn't mind tryin the flowermate. But I'm not worried if I never even see one in person.

IMO, the MFLB is among the best single hit vaporizers out there, as long as you abide by its rules: grind very fine, use just enough to cover the screen and make sure your batteries are fully charged. Once the light goes one, breathe in the vapor (don't suck hard) long and slow. Tap the box to expose more herb to the screen. Repeat. It never fails.

The FW is also brilliant for a single hit and back to the pocket in less than one minute, but you get a very pure form of convection heating (vs conduction in the MFLB), glass on glass, the taste is excellent, price is similar but it's bulkier and the battery is not hot-swapable, as well as being slow to charge (for the cons)

Surely one of the most under-rated vapes out there!

Don't all vapes heat during the whole session, including, say, the Solo? Or am i mistaken?

many conduction vaporizers only produce heat when they are activated either by a battery, i.e. mflb, or a lighter, i.e. vapor genie and lotus
